Under Armour Hovr smart shoes

Has anyone bought these?

Under Armour bluetooth shoes

I use myzone belt when training and I get all my workout data to various different apps via Apple Health App. The one area I haven't got covered is steps. I have read that the mapmyrun app these shoes work with doesn't actually record steps, so they aren't looking like they are going to be suitable as the above shoes are really designed for running, but I could be persuaded to wear them on a regular basis just for day to day walking during the course of the week if there is a way for them to monitor steps.

I would have thought that they have the best chance of accuracy then any other step product, and I'm actually surprised other manufacturers don't offer something similar.

Has anyone got a different solution for accurate step counting that doesn't include heart rate etc.

Yeah, I have some HOVR's - they're pretty good, even better as I got them for £15 on here

Comfy, app is decent too for tracking steps, cadence etc. but as you say is more designed for running / sprints / cycling etc. Keep in mind that the batteries are not changeable, instead state something like "designed to outlast the shoe's working life" though, not sure what they define as a working life.

The app does track the total daily steps - you can't do walking as a workout, though steps are shown on the shoe page (as well as the total distance you've travelled in the shoes - mine is 399km apparently).

Would recommend if you can get a good deal on them. £100+ for them is stingy though. (edited)

Thanks for that info. I literally just need them as an accurate step …Thanks for that info. I literally just need them as an accurate step counter. based on what you've mentioned an issue for me may be that I wouldn't require the data when cycling in gym, but I am sure I can choose not to use that data.I didn't realise it was a non replaceable battery which annoying but I'm not surprised. Obviously all of my gym work is indoors and those normally last me a good few years, but if I start using these for gym and daytime wear if I get a couple of years out of them that would alright by me.

Ah, yes that would be an issue as it's not turn off-able! You mention using the Apple Health app... Do you have an Apple Watch? Mine works a treat - I don't hugely track steps though, you can select indoor run etc. which does give some really good metrics.

The truth is the my myzone belt I wear is apparently one of the most accurate heart rate monitors on the market and it calculates resting heart rate etc. I use Apple health as a hub. My scales at home send my weight to Apple health that syncs with myzone and MyFitnessPal. My myzone belt sends workout info to Apple health that syncs it to MyFitnessPal. The gym I go to has Inbody scales that calculates accurately Weight, Muscle mass, fat mass, % body fat, Visceral fat level, Basal Metabolic rate and some of that info goes to Apple Health.

As far as I can see the Apple Watch for me would be more of a terminal on my wrist rather than measuring anything new (an Apple Watch for steps seems a bit of an overkill). I haven't really looked into sleep info on any of these devices but I am such a poor sleeper I can't see what a device would do other than tell me what I already know. I have heard some wear a Fitbit on the ankle, but I wouldn't want to do that. (edited)
