Just an FYI, the installed app says that the Official launch date for the app is 3rd September 2020, so not all functions and features may work for everyone.

    Despite the constant "How do you ever spend more than £2.50 in Lidl?" comments. We do our weekly shop in there every week, without fail. So a free fiver. Thanks OP

    Cheers OP, will look at getting this installed, as I easily spend £30+ a week at least once in a Lidl, annoyingly the last time was yesterday! *shakes fist*

    EDIT: They also let me charge my car for free while I am there, so double bonus! (edited)

    Don’t see why they need your mobile number to register, it should be optional (edited)

    Shame it can't be used with alcohol. The premium wine section in Lidl makes it easy to spend over £25. There's some absolute treats.

    No, beer. 😁

    I only spend that much if I do a big shop and stock up on a few things. Maybe a random power tool? gazebo? drone? faux fur lined crocs? (edited)

    How are people saying they don’t spend more than 25 on weekly shop . I easily spend £30 a week if I eat in 7 days

    I easily spend £50-70 and end up empty within a matter of 4-5 days.

    I’m a regular Lidl customer and just used the £5 off voucher, with 25% off 4 pepperoni pizzas.

    Anyway, won £20 off a £20 shop on the scratch card!!!!!

    Once you've installed and registered an account please go to more in the bottom right corner -> Legal Information -> Data Sharing and switch it off. There is a lot of data gathering and sharing with others going on,

    Just used this, they weren't sure how to scan but got the manger and worked it out. Then got a scratchcard in the app for £20 off next week, no minimum spend!

    I can confirm this works at the Whiteley (Hampshire) branch using the self service checkouts.

    Given the mixed success others have had, I thought it best to take my chances with the self service checkout and it proved to be the right call as all my saved coupons were successfully deducted against the bill.

    1. Open your Lidl Plus app;

    2. Press the 'LIDL PLUS CARD' button to see your virtual card;

    3. Once you have completed scanning all your shopping, look for a button labelled 'Barcode' on the screen of the self service checkout;

    4. Press the button and then manually type in your Lidl Plus Card number (the long number underneath your name);

    5. Press OK/Enter on the self service screen and you should see a message confirming your Lidl Plus Card has been accepted;

    6. Finally navigate to the payment screen and you will see the total amount to pay has now been adjusted.

    Thanks OP for sharing the deal.

    For those that haven't been successful at a regular checkout, give the self service checkouts a go.

    Good luck!

    great find, heat added.

    spending £25 in Lidl is easy enough. I always get their matured rib-eye or sirloin steaks which a couple of those you are almost half way there, and some of the wines are excellent too.

    I agree with some of the other comments around the fruit and veg.... it really doesnt last long enough from Lidl. But then some of the 'normal' supermarkets have their downsides too.

    I am quite surprised that there are still people suffering with supermarket snobbery, let people shop where they want and not look down your nose at them. I personally shop in Lidl, Sainsburys, M&S and Waitrose and every so often Costco.... it really does depend on what i want to buy,. You only have to look at the Lidl and Aldi car parks at the quite expensive cars that people who shop there have now, to see the changes that have happened over the last 10 years. Also dont knock it until you have tried it, there are still some things i dont like, but they have definately got much..much better in terms of quality in that time.

    anything that saves me money, on food and essentials has to be a good thing especially at the moment.

    This is not meant as a slur to anyone who hasn't shopped at Lidl yet but it does amaze me that there are still people who have never gone - not unlike someone remarking 'what is that Internet thing like anyway?' my landlady recommended I shop there nearly 2 decades ago and I've never looked back. Some of the older stores can be a bit grim but the newer ones have got savvy to the 'keep the aisles wide and lighting mood pleasant along with not overwhelming you with 7,367 types of cereal' approach. If you're Gluten and Lacto free like I am you're reasonably well provided for too. I'll give the app a try and see how it goes - cheers for the heads up OP!
