There’s a pic of charging a laptop. Is this compatible with Mac ?

A laptop usually needs a 60-65w charger, however some laptops charge at 45w too. This is 48w, I did not look, but I hope this is not 48w split in between the ports or at least the usb c gives 45w power delivery.
However, I am not familiar with the Mac, I understand there are even some models who require 80w+ to charge. Check in your Mac specs, if it charges at 65w, this may work.
The price is ok, but I personally prefer a 60w+ charger.

Not fully accurate, but put it this way. These chargers suppose to be smart and deliver the amount of power your device requires. If you get a more powerful charger than the original one your laptop came with, it will not charge faster, it will charge at the speed it suppose to charge. If it is less powerful, it may not charge at all, or will charge slow, some will only be for a bit of top up, not full charge.
There is no point to buy a charger like this for your phone, unless your phone supports PD. A fast charge on the phone is usually 15w-18w, some are 25w. A 50w charger will not charge your phone faster.
I do have a couple of 60w chargers, I use them with my laptops and they charge at the same speed (one looks is charging slightly faster) as with using the original brick.
Get a charger like this if you want it for your laptop, not for your phone, you can get cheaper less powerful for your phone. However, I strongly suggest a 60w+ charger for a laptop. On top of that, you will need a PD cable too, with a 56kohms resistor or an e mark chip. Some good ones are Nimaso and Fasgear on Amazon. I did not look properly at this charger, so can't say the cable it comes with will work with your laptop. (edited)

Check the input for your Mac and compare. I'm guessing it will as long as it accepts type C charging.

It outputs up to 30W over USB C but has a 20v profile so will work with lots of devices.

Macbook power requirements vary wildly. They will accept power from just about anything (try a USB A to C cable, I got 12W of power at 5V) but whether that covers their power consumption depends on workload. 30W should be fine for light browsing but not an external display, anything that touches the GPU or anything CPU intensive like video calls or compiling code.

If not why are we paying China 20% tax?I have tried to order from europe in the past through Aliexpress, as it appeared a lot cheaper, but EVERYTIME I tried it, it says does not ship to the UK. Strange how it can ship from China, but not France. I guess its a ploy to appear cheaper in the listings.

It's an EU import change where they got rid of the small value item vat allowance 1 Jan 2020. It applies across the whole of the EU.
    Nothing to do with brexit.

The EU has removed the 20% Vat low value items exemption of €22/£15 so Vat is charged by the seller. Nothing to do with brexit.

I will have you know their merchants have the consistently rated "happiest sweatshops to work in" award year on year. They score highly in the "workforce under 6" of age category too

So the last thing the EU did before the date we left them, was to introduce a 20% VAT across the whole of The EU? And of course, we will not reverse that now we have left, as it is a new revenue stream. I though Aliexpress seemed less appealing. The price of something I wanted was almost identical to Amazon now.
