For £33.99 you can get an Exide, with a CCA of 450, almost a third more power, and 47 amp hours compared to the 40 on this battery. Plus £8 delivery, from Tayna, with a 4 year warranty.

Firstly, this is not a cheap price for this battery, its what it usually sells for
Lion batteries are an extremely poor brand and are usually used by car dealers to get a car off a forecourt. You will be lucky if its still charging next winter and you will definitely want to factor in the cost of a decent set of jump leads plus some breakdown cover

    Secondly
Eurocarparts (better known as EuroCraparts) and their battery pricing is diabolical. They heavily inflate the battery prices RRP but have never sold them for even a day at the inflated prices but claim it's a discount. Just look at the claimed RRP for this battery £66.99 !!
If you want to see an example of that, check out their pricing of a BOSCH S5. They claim it was £224.999 and their sale price is £134.99. You can buy that battery from Amazon with delivery for less than £100

In lockdown I had to return the battery twice! As my car was dead, they checked the battery and found a faulty cell.
Save your money and buy a better battery.

    Have you used it?

I have, they are terrible quality. Didn't hold a charge so took it back to eurocarparts. Better off with a Bosch, Varta or Exide

As already said, buy from Tayna. Prices good and next day delivery -
Sign up to newsletter first as you'll get 10% off too.
I get Varta, exactly same as dearer Bosch except the sticker labels. (edited)

Think I would pay £42 delivered for this EXIDE PREMIUM CAR BATTERY 063TE

Better specs all around and 4 year gurantee.

If you dont have the further £9 for this, then I dont think you should be running a car.

    Voted cold.

Wouldn’t touch with a barge pole. Had one that failed the first winter then the replacement also failed. Definitely worth paying more for a better brand

Wouldn't touch this with a barge pole. Terrible battery. If it goes flat, it'll never recover. I've had several die well before they should over the years.

I bought a Bosch S4 063 for £57 from ECP today as I needed it today, but if you want the cheapest batteries, look up Tayna batteries. Supplier in Wales with next day delivery. Can get the Bosch for £47 including delivery. Varta and Exide are similarly priced.

Bosch and Varta batteries are made in the same factory to the same spec. Exide are meant to also be good but I would always go Bosch or Varta over anything else.

And if your local place is a GSF, go for a Yuasa. (edited)

Not sure whether this is a good price or not but after having a few Lion brand batteries on cars I've bought I wouldn't recommend them on anything you plan to keep more than a year. After years of buying the cheapies (the brands seems to disappear after a few years so naming them wouldn't help) I now only buy Bosch, Varta or Yuasa with minimum 4yr warranty. In a pinch I'd take Exide or another well-known brand such as Banner or Numax, but they're often not that much cheaper, unlike Lion et al which are much cheaper but simply don't last. Of course, even a good battery can be killed if left discharged for more than a short time or never fully charged - a mains powered battery conditioner/maintainer would be a sound investment if practical to use. The Varta S5 096 AGM battery has a RRP of £454.99 with the current discount code that goes down to £272.99 so the code takes £182.00 off, go on eBay and the same battery can be bought for £122.99 with free next day delivery or you could get an Exide 096 AGM battery for £95.99 with free next day delivery. I personally wouldn't buy anything from ECP.

I bought this brand from EuroCarParts a couple of years ago. If you're not doing a good few miles pretty much every day it loses charge horribly quickly. Not recommended at all.

I wanted to ask a question. So basically there are same batteries on ebay …I wanted to ask a question. So basically there are same batteries on ebay cheaper than eurocarpart like bosch 05 027 for renault clio this brand is 110 on eurocarparts and amazon and ebay around 70 but no start and stop technology is it very important? Thanks

If your car has stop-start technology, then you need an AGM battery (or ECM, if it was originally ECM) in order to handle the increased demand for all those extra engine starts. An ordinary car battery will die very quickly if used in a car with stop-start, and the warranty will usually exclude such inappropriate use.

If you want a cheap battery to offload a car then this it.

When you return the battery to Euro Car parts, which you will as they are well known for failing they will try and upsell you to another brand.

    Absosulute rubbish!

No one asked you to publish a detailed peer-reviewed research paper.

But the time you spent with that reply could have been used to explain your apparent circular reasoning.

Agree there, one I bought lasted 3 weeks. Tried to return to euro, but could not find receipt, even though had click and collect order number and debit from bank. No joy. Until i put in a trust pilot review, they refunded in less than 24 hours.
But I'd avoid this make battery, very poor quality. Unless it's to flog the car on

I've done a quick internet search and I can't find anyone selling it at as low a price as this delivered, who do you suggest sells it as cheap as this retail? If it's the usual price I'm surprised I couldn't find a single seller.

It's an outrage, I went to the zoo once and the thing in the cage that said "lion" was clearly not even a battery.
