Update 1
No delivery available. You'll need a roof rack or van.
Down from £19 (now says £13) per board, this Wickes Premium pine decking is now £11 per board.

It measures 140mm x 3600mm, so might need cutting down in places. But there is a shorter one (2400mm) available at £9 per board, but that's not as good a saving.

Might be worth borrowing a van or big car with a roof rack, as they are long and no delivery available.

I don't know anything about wood work : Would this be OK for making a sand pit or play kitchen for the children? Would it need any other treatment / sanding / other?

I used a load of old decking boards to make a mud kitchen and a sandpit. You "might" want to treat any ends where you've cross cut the boards, I didn't bother as I'm pretty sure my kids will grow out of it before too much rot sets in.

Just had 65 of these delivered this morning. Check your local timber merchants for joists though as I found the Wickes prices pretty steep and got a much better deal locally on those. But couldn’t find comparable boards for anything like this price elsewhere. (edited)

Heh, the religious war hath begun!

Wickes premium boards are grooved on both sides so no smooth side. The non-premium boads have a smooth side but it is badly finished and quite rough.... if you wanted to use this side it would need sanded which would remove some of the tanalisation

Had these delivered yesterday also you get 10% off if you sign up for a trade pro card. 14 boards cost me £138 bargain. They are the thicker boards also very good quality. Extended my original decking. 47551393-bxqma.jpg

Tried ordering these before the deal was posted. Shows available for delivery, but when you checkout, they say they can't deliver.

They're too large to fit in a car too, although my local Wickes doesn't have those lengths in store.

I just went to collect the 2.4m boards for £9 each. Got 10% off with my trade card too, so just £8.10 a board.

Not available for delivery, unless you have a large car/van you'll struggle fitting these in a car..

    Probably why they are cheap.

Good price but the website says previous price was £13 not £19. Is this another misleading RRP "deal"...?

It said £19 yesterday when I posted it.

I just heard on their radio advert that the premium deck board is down from £11 to £9

If that's the case, it's cheaper than 8 years ago (found a photo on my phone). Great price.

I made a planter, but bought the longer boards. Did all my cutting on site, then packed into my car (used hand saw). Fortunately for me, 2.4m just fitted but no way for the 3.6m.

If i was wanting/needing these, this is what i'd be doing, cutting it onsite and then sticking it in my car

    Hi Guys,

I wish to make some garden storage boxes out of wood but these seem overkill - what would be a cheaper timer plank that I could use or is this still the best deal? I will be staining it later so do not need anything fancy!

    Thanks!
