Shame it's not a 256gb model. I don't think 128gb is really much these days.

Remember that you won’t be able to shoot video in ProRes with the 128 model if that’s important to you

O2 network is terrible in my experience. I’m talking about West Midlands and Shropshire. Good deal though, I personally would prefer the 256gb as a minimum. (edited)

Can definitely confirm this, in Shropshire is absolutely terrible! Too bad I am stuck with them for a while, as I used the Virgin/O2 promotion for my broadband

Add South Coast cities to that list as well, data speeds from the early 2000s if you get a connection at all!

Problem here is Mobile phones direct. Take your order with a fictional date and then keep delaying the delivery date. I first ordered on 5 October, they have yet to deliver. And that includes them cancelling it at one stage for no reasonn

I agree, spoke to them today for an update as i was told 2 weeks delivery(ordered on 2nd of Nov) .

I have been told today that it might take another month or more for them to have the phone in stock!

I think i might just cancel .. no point waiting another month or more to get a phone!

Waiting for next year s iPhone 15 Pro max with WiFi 6 E . Usb c and better 3nm chip inside . I guess iPhone 13pro max 1tb refurbished selling for around £1000 on Giffgaff better than this 128gb model . (edited)

O2 are now awful in Glasgow and surrounding areas, avoid like the plague, no idea what’s happened. Can’t wait to switch back to EE come December when my contract is up.

Google o2 status and type your post code in. Probably a mast down in your area

If you can afford that much upfront, you may as well buy it outright sim free.

Are o2 decent these days? I'm out the loop with them. Went from Three to EE a few years ago, price is higher but the network seems a lot better, Three was always dragging along at a terrible speed

Depends where you live I suppose. O2 was awful for me and Three is decent.

For people complaining of terrible service/coverage, why not get a digital sim on another network and use the best of both networks?
    jpr353's avatar

What network are you suggesting here? The only esim networks I’m aware of are o2, vodafone and ee. If I’m going to bother paying for a vodafone or ee sim only contract then I might as well buy the phone for £1199 from apple with 24 month interest free credit….no nasty inflation increase in that like there is with this deal.
Edit: I voted hot….. just because I don’t think it’s the best deal for me doesnt mean I don’t think it’s not the best deal for someone who is happy on o2 or three. (edited)

If you don't mind 14 Pro (not max) they have a very good deal for the 256GB model with Vodafone 105gb data £799 upfront and £23 a month.

I want to keep my number. Is it easily transferable in this deal. Do you request at the time of order or when you receive the phone ?
    TechAddict89's avatar
    TechAddict89
If you’re on O2 it’s simple as that yeah, they might need to send you a new SIM for 5g etc but it usually takes next to no time for the number to transfer. I believe the process isn’t much more difficult if you’re changing networks but that’s from friends’ experience, I’ve had my current number since before O2 was O2 so not had to change, I know carphone used to be able to do it for you in store so if they can manage it I’d assume a Google search would sort it

Not yet and the lead time on their website is still 2-4 weeks. I ordered mine on the 1st November but have another line/phone I can use until it arrives so there is no urgency for me but I can understand the frustration for others!

catchmeifyoucan mentioned further up the thread that he called MPD on the 16th Nov and was told it could be another month+ before they have more in stock which would clearly be well beyond their initial delivery estimate.
