sorted byConsidering the Echo Show 5 will be down to at least £35 during Black Friday, it's highly recommend one over this Lenovo device.
We don't live in perfect environments, internet connections go down, a WiFi AP can have a fit - there are any number of reasons why you could lose connection.
This device should not require an internet connection for a pre-set alarm to be triggered.
I can't do live chat with anyone either

EDIT: Was passing the store today (Romford) They have a cupboard full of these and at least one of the £14.99 jobbies.
Ordering system is a joke, but TBH the store aint much better when you try to actually buy something.
I think they've just become very complacent as they're the only major store where you can go and pick up stuff like this, washing machines, ovens, fridges etc etc. (edited)
