Don't do it
Got the 55 inch of this from john lewis and tbh was reasonably impressed. Felt fairly solid compared to a TCL that I bought and returned.
This problem can be cured by switching off auto backlight, also turn manual backlight to 75% to save around 30w per hour on your lecky bill you won't notice any difference to the picture.
Also, if you have fire stick I would advise using that instead of the built in Fire tv as it can use extra juice.
For what I paid it was a bargain.
