EDIT: if you click to talk talk direct direct through TCB rather than the compare. You get £150 TCB and £125 voucher. Better deal. Actually the best deal for 500mb broadband. Works out about £20 per month. Cheaper than the Vodafone deal posted on here.

I posted a similar deal going direct with talk talk where you get amazon prime included

I believe this is a much better deal and works out cheaper if TCB pays out and you get the voucher.

Going through TCB compare. They are offering £125 voucher and £89 TCB. Effective price is about £23.

Factor in, it’s only 18 month contract and you get the Amazon eero pro 6 included, which is a top router.

Benefit of dealing over phone is no in contract price increases. However you then don’t get cashback or voucher, but you do get prime.

yeah that route is worth thinking about, "no in contract rises & prime" vs "voucher & cashback".

Prime is worth £95 a year (good for people that use prime a lot), and no price rise in contract doesn't sound too amazing initially, but when you get down and do some calculations, based on the crazy inflation rates we're seeing, the price rise next April is likely around 15%, so that's £5.25 extra per month, for 12 months that £63 extra, then when we get to April 2024 there'll be another price rise, don't know the inflation rate by then but we'll need to pay at least another 3 or 4 months at that new price until the contract ends.

It really all depends whether the £127.50 TCB cashback will be successfully paid, pretty confident the £125 voucher will be delivered, but if TCB cashback for whatever reason failed to come through, then ordering over the phone will be the better deal.

Is the no price rise promise offered to you right away, or do you have to ask for it? and is it written in black and white in your contract? (so there'll no backing out from TalkTalk).

i joined this and got a install date of 3rd jan, i contacted them via live chat saying i could no longer make that appointment and could i change it, i'm now due for an install of the 6th of dec, worth a check guys if you want an earlier install date

Has anyone TCB tracked yet? (edited)

are you currently already on Openreach FTTP? if you're then the transfer should be in 2 weeks i.e. after the 14 days cooling off period.

Talktalk calling it "install" makes it sound like you'll need engineer visit and drill walls/run cables/install ONT etc, if people are already on Openreach FTTP they should just call it "transfer/takeover", plug in new router on activation date.

I've been onto TCB customer service today to seek confirmation of the cashback from TCB and giftcard via TalkTalk and received the following responses (read in reverse - starting at bottom.
    >>
    Hi there

If the giftcard is not used in the purchase of the Fibre500 or Fibre900 and is provided after the fact then yes it will be a bonus

    Thanks for the reply.
Just to confirm then, the £150 TCB cashback on the TCB webpage for Fibre500 or Fibre900 is valid...and won't be affected by any giftcard TalkTalk may also offer in addition to the TCB cashback?

    TopCashback21.11.2022
    Hi Matt

As the offer is not shown on Topcashback's page you would only receive the cashback for the Full Fibre 150 , 500 or 900, any further giftcards received are not generated by us, if you do make a purchase through this offer and no cashback has tracked please free to get back in touch or to lodge a claim for missing cashback and we would be happy to help

    Hi.

I note the current TCB cashback offer for new customers taking out a contract with Talk Talk for both their Full Fibre 500 and Full Fibre 900 shows as £150 cashback.

However, when clicking through to TalkTalk to purchase, the landing page also notes an offer of £125 giftcard.

Please can you confirm the current offer for new customers purchasing Full Fibre 500 or 900 is £150 cashback through TCB and £125 giftcard through TalkTalk?

I am aware of at least 2 TCB members who have clicked through for this offer but since Friday 18th Nov but that so far no cashback from TCB has tracked.

In light of the above, please can you confirm the current offer showing from TCB is as noted above?

    Many thanks (edited)

Surprised this deal isn't hotter, must be the "reputation" of talktalk, but tbh never been with them before, so hopefully they're getting better with FTTP full fibre using openreach?

I currently have 145mb with Sky (but has been out of contract for couple months), and has been looking at the best deals for 500mb packages, the previously posted Vodafone deal seemed the best, but Voda uses openreach and limits my area to 200mb due to "capacity issues", so instead of £30 with various voucher/cashback for 500mb I will only get 200mb, so less value for money.

So TalkTalk does offer the full 500mb and 900mb for my address (checked using their official website checker), their website is offering amazon prime for 1 year, which is good, but after finding the TCB broadband compare website, with the voucher and cashback this is definitely better.

    So just a few questions:

    1) what retailers is the £125 voucher for? the TCB broadband compare website is so vague with the details? just says "You'll be sent instructions by email on how to select your £125 voucher 90 days after your service activates. You'll then have 90 days to claim it." So is it a pre-paid card? any specific retailers only?

    2) will the £89 cashback automatically track on the main TCB website? anybody have previous experience of completing orders on the TCB BB Compare website and got the full cashback? can you raise a claim if it fails to track?

    3) I still need to give 31 days notice to leave sky, so can only join TalkTalk at least 31 days later, can the activation/take over date be set 31 days in the future?

thanks for any help or info.

EDIT: I noticed the post above, and have also checked the tcb talktalk page, it's currently showing £127.50 cashback, and when clicked through to the talktalk website it's also showing the £125 voucher, and even showing the 4 eligible retailers for the voucher. So is it not better just go via the TCB Talktalk page and complete the order that way? (so avoid the TCB BB Compare page altogether). (edited)

Yes. I just signed up last night. Don’t do the compare tcb. Just click through tbc to talk talk. It was £150 tbc for 500mb and then when on the talk talk website it includes the £125 voucher. Best deal I can find for any 500mb broadband. If of course it all pays out. Plus it’s only 18 months and you get a better router than Vodafone.

TCB hasn't tracked for me either, who is responsible for the voucher is it TCB or talktalk?
    ajmillington's avatar

Talk talk are responsible for the voucher. You claim that after your internet goes live. The TCB is through TCB but it’s talk talk who pay it.

I signed up Friday morning around 1am but never got the confirmation email. I've called them and been told they have no record of my order despite me giving them the order number. The TCB link doesn't have the gift card offer now so can't try sign up again. Very annoying! (edited)

Decided to stick with BT and negotiated a deal I'm happy with. It makes you think if the customer service and experience is so bad before I've signed up what will it be like if there's any issues!

    No1_Dave
Just curious what deal did you managed to negotiate with BT? I've been with Sky for a few years but before that was with BT for broadband, but looking at the price comparisons BT and Sky are pretty much the most expensive 2, even though they are also the the biggest 2 you would have thought with economy of scale they could offer the best/cheapest deals, but unfortunately not. I think with BT you're arguably getting better service? 500mb, £30.99, 6 months Game Pass Ultimate, 1 month free.
    No1_Dave's avatar
    No1_Dave
yeah possibly, I remember years ago the likes of BT & Sky are constantly getting hammered about their customer service or reliability, but seems to have cleaned up their acts in recent years.

£30.99 for 500mb is actually pretty good, are you an existing (long time?)customer? if Sky offered me that speed for that price I probably would have stayed and don't have to waste time/effort/energy comparing different providers, 19 years diamond vip customer but nothing like that price! Ok, after reading quite a few comments on here about the cashback not tracking, or giftcard/voucher not honoured hotukdeals.com/com…064, so I checked the reviews on TCB topcashback.co.uk/tal…/1/

if you sort reviews by newest first, most of the bad reviews happened in 2021 or before, many mentioned it takes months (like over a year to 18 months?!) for the cashback to be paid, some say it gets rejected etc.

Looks like it's more prudent and safer to order over the phone and get the 1 year amazon prime + no in contract price rise instead, hates the worry/hassle of having to chase vouchers/giftcard/cashback.

    Hello All,

I've just ordered TT Broadband (150) over the phone but have been informed that the monthly charge will increase each year from April 2023 by CPI + 3.7% ?????

Also, I will not be using Eero 6 device, since I have a full Ubiquity Unify setup - has anyone tried that - any issues?

Great deal IMO, considering if it's worth going to the 900 speed and get another eero 6 pro thrown in. Thanks OP
    Mattkawa9's avatar
    Mattkawa9
Unless you really want the extra speed then better value to stick with 500 speed and buy another eero 6 pro direct from Amazon for £114 as that one won't be locked to TalkTalk.

Interesting deal as going through TCB app says £150 cashback for Fibre 500 @£35 month x 18months and then shows £125 giftcard as well when clicking through to Talktalk...so even cheaper at £19.72 effective if all cashbacks go through.

Weirdly, Talktalk doesn't even come up for me using the linked TCB broadband comparison!?

Good price for the 500mb and the cashback/voucher a bonus. 18 month contract is certainly better than the standard 24 month but if taken out now you’ll still get hit with 2 CPI rises during it so will likely be in the mid £40s by the contract end . Yes the cash back will bring the monthly cost down but how many people use the cash back for this reason?

    No1_Dave's avatar

any update on your tracking? I think the TCB TalkTalk page when you click through says usually tracks within 1 day.

It's always a worry with any deal that requires a big chunk of cashback to make it worthwhile. The £125 voucher should be quite straight forward, whereas with cashback, there's always the issue of whether it tracks, and then is it the correct amount, and finally they might still decline it several months down the line.

    Here's a small(long) update to my situation: hotukdeals.com/com…997

anyways long story short, couldn't get any good deals even as a Sky 19 years diamond vip customer, have now given 31 days notice and cancelled the sky tv, just need to order a new fttp 500mb package from a new provider and they'll takeover in around 2 weeks.

Hence why I'm closely following this deal, tbh this Talktalk deal looks like the best bet for me in terms of speed and price, because vodafone limits my area to 200mb, and virginmedia means all the upheaval of drilling walls or even dig up stuff, using an ISP on Openreach fttp is the most convenient for me. Ok, another update: hotukdeals.com/com…336

again long story short, couldn't/didn't get any new deals/offers from Sky, so I will put in an order with TalkTalk tomorrow.

Just following this deal thread to see if people are sorting out the tracking problems, so weighting up whether to order online or over the phone...

Tried to sign up after Sky seem to have screwed me over on joining. They’re stating in website and on the phone that it won’t be until 22/12 when they can send the engineer out. I don’t get why they need to, I have FTP and have been with BT and Sky and was in both instances connected remotely within a week!
  23. No1_Dave's avatar
    No1_Dave
thanks for the updates guys, along with the cashback not tracking (has anybody actually had theirs tracked yet?)

the takeover/install date is what I worry next, sky tv requires 31 days notice to cancel, but for fttp broadband it's only 14 days (but you don't actually cancel the broadband, because that means sky put a cease on the line which makes it much more difficult for the takeover), the sky advisor I spoke to just told me just go ahead and order with a new provider and the new provider will initiate an active line takeover usually around 2 weeks.

so people are saying if you order online from TalkTalk their install date is 22nd/end of Dec? I can imaging if you need Openreach engineer visit then that's the waiting time, but what about for people who already have active FTTP lines, surely the takeover should be quite easy and done in around 2 weeks i.e. just after the 14 days cooling off period. (edited)
  24. ajmillington's avatar
    ajmillington Author
I don’t really get it. I’ve had bt fttp and then sky fttp and didn’t need engineer for my sky install. Talk talk have booked me in for the 22nd dec and going on about sending an engineer. Surely I don’t need one!
    No1_Dave's avatar
    No1_Dave
yeah the transfer should really be seamless, an active line FTTP to FTTP transfer/takeover. Whereas I can imaging if going from adsl/FTTC/G.fast/cable etc to FTTP, or going from one FTTP network infrastructure (cityfibre/altnets etc) to Openreach, then you would need Openreach engineer visit.

Not a good omen/start to Talktalk if they can't handle a simple transfer like this, and still cashback not tracked.

Personally unless sky calls me back in the next 2 days and give me an amazing offer to stay, I'm leaving and will take advantage of all the black friday offers, and Talktalk on paper is the best deal for me, but if the cashback still doesn't track then I'm leaning towards ordering over the phone and take the £95 amazon prime + no in contract price increase (worth about £63). TCB does not find my new FTTP connection (OpenReach) available and still offers copper broadband packages.

So, I will have to call TT tomorrow. Although I WFH 100% I think Fibre150 should be enough (currently have DL33/UP10) and still a big upgrade for the same price I currently pay Vodafone.

    Quick Questions:
    - does TT offer external IP or CGNAT ??
    - Do I understand correctly, if I get the contract through the phone call, I get NO inflation price increases - how does that work?
    - Does Amzn Prime require a new account or existing can be extended?

    thanks all!

Any updates or progress on any of your orders people?

I noticed it last night on the main talktalk page new.talktalk.co.uk/ it shows the "FULL FIBRE PLUS
AMAZON PRIME ON US" offer, but once you input your postcode to check what services are available, in the next page, it no longer mention amazon prime, instead it's the same promo as this deal "£125 reward card included".

when you click on it, unlike on the tcb compare wesbite, it clearly tells you what retailers are available.

    48827535-oOLaf.jpg
    48827535-FDhxH.jpg

So is the amazon prime offer no longer available when ordered online? or is it still available when ordering over the phone? still not fully decided which route to take

I suppose the £125 reward card is better than £95 prime, but as before ordering over the phone people can get the no in-contract price rise promise.

So I've received the Amazon prim for the year email today so spoke to customer service and asked if they could honour the 125 voucher. Eventually they explained it's Amazon prime for the year + 125 voucher after 90 days. Done over live chat so hopefully the chat log might back me up if the voucher doesn't arrive later
