Battery lasts 2yrs from manufacturers date 'shelf life' (not inserted), and 5yrs from manufacturers date when 'inserted and on standby'.

Replacement batteries at a reasonable price available here for £168.80 inc vat (compared to elsewhere!): mediana-a15-battery-pack

User manual here (battery management is on page 33): m.media-amazon.com/ima…pdf

Every school, pub, hotel, shop, library, village hall, museum, basically everywhere, should have one of these.

If you’re reading this, please, at the very least, go on to YouTube and watch a cardiac arrest and an AED video.

As much as we like to take the mick out of St Jonny, Watch this

These are amazing but only for business etc, I'm a goodsam responder and the option to have an AED on your person is a huge bonus but only 2 people within miles have them, at £150 maybe £200 I would get and maintain just for the chance if its needed for nearly a grand... just too much...

We did a community crowdfunding and it’s hosted outside a house on our road and the maintenance/upkeep paid for. People should do this more often.

Jokes aside theses machines can and do save lives. It's almost like having a reset button on life.

I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the price. Shocking.

These are becoming more necessary since the unexplained increase in cardiovascular problems over the last couple of years...

More people sitting at home not getting any exercise just scoffing whatever they want watching conspiracy theory tiktok videos?

Add that into your unexplained equation.

    This or peloton?

Peloton as prevention is better than cure.

The poor fellar in the picture looks like he's already croaked it, what with half his torso missing

Great bit of kit. Remember that upkeep and maintenance is an expensive factor. These need regular services to guarantee they'll work when you need them to
    Willy_Wonka's avatar
    These might.

Not some other ones. Some just need a battery replacement when it warns you. Which is every 3 to 5 years.

Only a matter of time before we all have one of these in our homes.

I see more and more of these popping up around the place. Unfortunately they get vandalised but this is in the minority you would like to think. They should be close enough for anyone to be able to get one when needed. Unfortunately, if someone you're caring for is requiring one of these, you shouldn't leave the patient to get one. You should instead instruct someone else to get it whilst you start and continue CPR. This is a really important point. Does anyone know of any schemes where people can help to fund these? I want to help but don't really know where to start. These shouldn't be in houses, but instead accessible to all... So bolted to the side of an accessible house for the whole community to use.

Local authority/parish councils etc can all help/organise funding for purchasing AED units. more and more are being installed in old phone boxes in community areas. we have 1 in our village(never heard of it being vandalised- touch wood)

    Good luck

With more ev charging points being installed it would be great to see these housed in the points in the future

Probably only worth buying if you or someone else at the household have a high risk. Just be wary of maintenance.
