Hotel Chocolat Velvetiser

Includes

  • Hotel Chocolat HC01 Velvetiser Hot Chocolate Machine
  • Ceramic cups x 2

Hot chocolate, reimagined by us. Urban engineered by Dualit, embracing Mayan ingenuity. When you’re craving delectably smooth, whipped hot chocolate, make it your daily ritual with the Velvetiser.

When you need a morning boost or a flavanol-rich post-gym pick me up, you’re just 2.5 minutes away from barista-grade hot chocolate. Or curl up on the couch with a velvety and indulgent cup in the evening. Whatever your lifestyle, the Velvetiser delivers.

Just choose your flavour. Add our flakes of real chocolate to your choice of dairy, plant milk or water. Then press the button and let the patented velvetising process deliver luxurious cloud-like chocolate velvet.

Your Velvetiser takes up the same space as a kettle and adjusts easily for a left and right hand pour. It might not be suitable for dishwashers but as it’s so quick and easy to clean, why wait? Just pop out the whisk and rinse the non-stick coating with water and you’re ready for the next cup.

The classic copper clad Velvetiser is chic, stylish and on-trend, with looks good enough to grace any kitchen countertop. And we even supply a pair of podcups that just fit into the palm of your hand. So you can cradle that chocolate goodness as you savour every sip. Rich, creamy and decadent, why not indulge yourself with the ultimate in hot chocolate?

1-year full parts and labour guarantee.

    Definitely worth buying

I thought it would be a gimmick thing like a toastie maker. And it was at first until we ran out of the chocolate pouches

Me and my lad love them though. For the last 4 months we have been hammering it.

You can even use your favourite chopped up chocolate too (use about 35g) I find the darker ones have a stronger taste

I bought some Tesco finest hot chocolate flakes for £2.50 so I'm not supping all the expensive hotel Chocolat stuff. Mini marshmallows and squirty cream
  2. screamingninja's avatar
I don't see any free delivery options. Minimum £3.95 delivery

    It came off at checkout

Hot chocolate a side, does anyone use this as a milk frother? I was looking at getting the Lavazza or Nespresso frother but if this can do both....
    robwatto's avatar
Yeah I use this as a milk frother everyday. For me, it makes it at the best temperature for a coffee. I also own the Lavazza milk frother and have to say, the Velvetiser is equally as good. Hope this helps!

I got one of these as a present, hot chocolate is smooth if I'm honest it's just that wee bit cooler than I would like when made. Handy to stop you having to stand over milk and hot chocolate mix and stir until ready.
    EMGPORT01's avatar
Put boiling water in the cup first. Then empty and fill with the hot chocolate

An amazing machine. One of the best things I've bought and got the Coffee Machine from Hotel Chocolat to go with it. Well worth it!

Lovers of hot chocs, try the Callebaut Chocolate Milk No. 823 (Amazon), imo tastes so much better than hotel's flakes,
advise you to feed the buttons in slowly, and wait for the milk to warm up

  7. marckernow's avatar
I got a free box of dunking biscuits with mine via redemption when I signed up. It wasn’t advertised in the offer
    Elliosc's avatar
    How did you manage that?
  8. BigRstar's avatar
Would we benefit from this using milk and hot chocolate powder like cadburys or do you have to use chocolate flakes? My missus wants one but think she thinks it jist warms the milk lol
    dvdgrgsmt's avatar
Got my girlfriend one for Xmas and it's great, the hotel chocolate flakes are expensive but you can often find them in store short dated at a better price or you can get other brands version like Pendragon cheaper.

Grated up some kinder chocolate the other day and used that, it was incredible

I was about to buy it but wanted to charge me £4.95 shipping, they can keep it

Try the subscription and see if it discounts to £20, worked for me pre Xmas. The subscription is worth it if you plan to use the HC sachets.
    twistedspirit's avatar
Tried various combinations and can't get it to discount to £20.00 this time.

Pendragon is great alternative to HC for your chocolate supplies
    Blanco's avatar
Pendragon is a car network. Do you mix crack into your hot choc? Review please.

The Hotel Chocolate Velvetiser is made by Dualit so you could go for this instead amazon.co.uk/Dua…-12
    danielwhicks's avatar
This will burn chocolate if put inside. The velvetiser is much lower temp and gradually brings it up to temp while mixing. The product you have linked, although similar, is a frother and only designed for milk. If you want to make a chocolate drink with that you need to froth the milk and then mix that with the chocolate in a mug for example.

The new white one is so ugly. I had to return it. The handle was white. (edited)
    BlackHawk's avatar
It's designed to make smooth hot chocolates, it's not to be used in selfies.

Dog wakes me up at 4am for no reason.

Spider senses tingle and tell me to check HUKD.

    I'm suddenly £70 lighter 😋

I bought one of these on a whim for my 17 year old for Christmas - initially she was disappointed. Said she didn’t want it!! So ungrateful…

However, she set it up - tried it out and she can no longer imagine her life without it!! Like others report on HDUK ours has taken a hammering every day since 25/12/22 - her 3 adult brothers (plus GF’s) use it most days and we even have the HC dairy free alternative chocolate for use with oat milk for the son who has never grown out of his CMPA.

My fav is a Tumeric Latte made with oat milk. Not a HC product but absolutely delicious!

I totally recommend. If you like a hot chocolate and have the spare cash it’s a good buy.
    lemonchicken's avatar
Hey do you have a link to the tumeric latte? Is it powder?
  16. scud's avatar
Who as after this product? This was always at this price. Something is fishy about it as it gets posted a lot here.
  17. baladar's avatar
I have one too. It churns out pure crack and heroin in a deliciously chocolatey mix.

I will say I only started using official HC hot choc mixes quite recently about 3 months into buying it, so if you're worrying about that as a cost, you can do without it. I happened to buy some Menier cake mix boxes that had dark chocolate buttons as part of the cake mix and I just dropped 3 or 4 in with milk and hot choc powder and bob's your uncle.
    krazyasif786's avatar
Is this just a fancy hot chocolate maker?
  18. dazigster's avatar
I've never met anyone who regretted buying or receiving one, or who didn't want one after being made a drink.
  19. watermelonsocks's avatar
I have a proper milk frother - is it the same thing jf I just buy the chocolate punches separately?
    Dealseeker33's avatar
    Good to know this
  20. mcivoronline's avatar
Fantastic. Used 2/3 times a week. Used everyday over Christmas
  21. umasood90's avatar
Check out the chocolate flakes from pendragon. I've been using mine for 2 years with probably like 8kg of chocolate flakes lol
    Doomathy's avatar
Great shout - How does the quality compare to hotel Chocolat? Parisian or Belgian? How much did you pay for 8kg?
  22. Lloydinio's avatar
I’m trying to lose weight but this looks amazing
    Akahn66's avatar
You can drink this and still lose weight.
  23. Nicmann's avatar
Managed to get one via Hotel Chocolat website for just £18.95, that offer is long gone now.
  24. Repetitively's avatar
I bought one super cheap on a refurb deal, totally obsessed with it, it even makes amazing matcha lattes.. decided to buy one for my sister's birthday directly from HC thanks to this deal and stacked up on Pendragon chocolate flake pouches
    yus786's avatar
Out of interest where did you buy the pouches from pls? Cheers
  25. yus786's avatar
My 2nd one has died after around 13 months, really want a new one but they've been so unreliable
    baladar's avatar
Now I'm wondering what the warranty is on them.....
  26. Toon_army's avatar
I got a hot chocolate maker from Aldi was around £40 with a 3 year warranty, had loads of good reviews so bought it for my mam. She uses it nearly every day since Christmas (edited)
    Joshimitsu91's avatar
I had one of these at £50 refurbished (opened but sealed) before Christmas from an eBay deal. For the price it's fantastic.
  27. Jenny_Busfield's avatar
This is a good deal. We bought one as a housewarming for a friend
  28. GreenCalx1971's avatar
These are ace. Got one for crimbo.

    guys...which colour Charcoal or copper??
    supersue's avatar
Depends on your style preference, but I think the copper one looks great :-)
  30. smicer07's avatar
Is it worth getting the subscription and getting it for 50 quid?
    Elliosc's avatar
If you want to buy 12 packs of choc sachets over the next 6 or 12 months, yes.
  31. bruvafromanuvamuva's avatar
Reading through the comments makes me want a hot chocolate…
    vickstar79's avatar
Reading through the comments makes me wonder if the flakes would ever make it into the hot chocolate or if I'd just eat them raw
  32. S555's avatar
Any dark chocolate flakes that are high in flavanol?
  33. lemonchicken's avatar
Thanks Op! Ordered a copper one
  34. goodbuy's avatar
Was given one as a gift, love it, use it every day, excellent deal
  35. gram333uk's avatar
Do john lewis still price match? I have vouchers for there but £110 is too much
  36. Cameron92's avatar
What are good suggestions for alternative chocolate flakes to use in this? The official HC ones look pricey at £1.35 per serving.
    krazyasif786's avatar
A lot of chocolateers use Callebaut chocolate ... just use a knife to cut into fine chunks ... price at 1kg around £13 but indulgently worth it

    amazon.co.uk/Cal…8-2
  37. helal94's avatar
Can this be used for heating any drink?
    HPMan's avatar
No, it's only for heating up milk, if you make multiple hot chocolate the instructions say to rinse between to reset the thermostat.
  38. Jubarter's avatar
Very good quality product. Other half loves it and children enjoy frothy milk. This offer keeps popping up with the exact figures. I think if you register you get biscuits as well!
  39. cbates60's avatar
If you can be bothered phoning/emailing to cancel then you can get one via the 12-month subscription option for £63.45 or £61.42 with code NEWVIPME. And this includes 1 box of 10 sachets of your choice. Better than cups!
    screamingninja's avatar
I'm assuming you're not tied into any 12 month contract here. Can you cancel at any time?
  40. wish123simp123's avatar
We purchased one for my sons Christmas and he has one nearly everyday. It’s starting to cost me a fortune in hc sachets. Can anyone recommend one that’s just as good in flake form my son likes the 50% milky best ? I know you can do this yourself but it’s a pain smashing it up small enough t that it dosnt cause big lumps in it.

    Thanks
    oatenjon's avatar
I would suggest not smashing but getting a fine grater with a large block of dairy milk or Galaxy etc. Then a Tupperware tub to keep all the flakes in.
