I would make the not backwards compatible warning a little more noticeable.
    xabyvita's avatar
I have played both on my XBSX... They are backwards compatible

Anyone know if there is 4 player local multiplayer on this?
    orion.grant's avatar
    Yes there is

Which is better (on Series S) if never played this before - TS1 or TS2 please ?
Also how long is campaign ? (edited)
    oOFincHyOo's avatar
By TS1 do you mean Future Perfect? That's actually TS3.

    I'd start with 2 then play 3.
  4. turtles1's avatar
These look amazing on Series S.
  5. oOFincHyOo's avatar
    Infinite heat!

For anyone who is interested, Free Radical, the developers of the original games reformed with much of the original head devs and are working on a new TS right now! Hopefully we see some footage of it this year

This is a great find, what awesome games. Does anyone know if they have online multiplayer or is it local multiplayer only? Thanks
    EliTeAP's avatar
It's local co-op and local multiplayer but I'm not sure on the Xbox Live part of it.
  7. joebooth376's avatar
are these co-op for the campaign?
    EliTeAP's avatar
There is Co-op for campaign yes

I bought an Xbox Series S not too long ago just to play these digital vers. of TS.

I can honestly sayy that they've done an amazing job porting it over and it runs very fluent with all the upsampled textures etc. @ 60FPS.
    Arkz's avatar
They've not actually upsampled it, it's basically the original game, but with the emulator running it in a higher resolution. 960p on Xbox One, and One S. 1440p on Series S, and 1920p on Series X and One X.

I wish Sony would put in the same effort in their BC.

    Heat just cause it's timesplitters
  10. highspire2k's avatar
I loved timesplitters back when I was a teenager. I know there’s been various projects out there (especially the rewind team) but I feel all momentum and nostalgia is gone.

I really wish we got the TS4 that began development.

The originals were amazing with a whole host of content such as characters and weapons that were all FULLY unloveable through completing challenges on the actual disc.

I fear now, that if we did ever see TS4 it would be loot box and micro transaction city.

Yeah I know, I’m a man shouting at clouds and shaking my fist.

Well have I got news for you, do you know Free Radical opened up their developement team again?

"In 2009, the company was acquired by Crytek and became part of the Plaion family as Dambuster Studios, but the passion for creating exceptional games never faded. In 2021, the original founders brought Free Radical Design back to life, with the goal of creating a new masterpiece in the TimeSplitters franchise."

Played some Future Perfect with friends not long ago, and it holds up much better than I expected. A lot of times when I go back to older games I have nostalgia for, they don't quite live up to it, but TS:FP is still a load of fun!
  12. swedishsonna's avatar
HEAT. I loved TS2 on my GameCube.
  13. CommanderKeen's avatar
    Just get these. Right now.

Dont even think about it. You wouldn't think twice getting a drink from starbuck for 3 times the price.. Do yourself a favour and just click buy, you won't regret it.

Timesplitters 2 still plays great on my One S. Just wish I had the time and patience to unlock all of the multilayer levels and characters again (edited)
    Gash_McNash's avatar
Oooh man, I remember it took me about eight hours to painstakingly finish the robot factory on hard to get the Site multiplayer stage I don’t think the reflexes are there now
  15. LewisBoote's avatar
Ohh mateee what a game… the nostalgia 🥹

    Which one was that?
  18. Cremoso99's avatar
Struggle with aiming with Timesplitter 2, and Perfect Dark too.

Yet the recent Goldeneye is much easier. (edited)

    especially on bighead mode
  19. Tanvoori's avatar
Just bought these! Absolutely loved these games
  20. Franzkill's avatar
They need to put some sort of tunnelling software on the Xbox store similar to X Link Kai or Hamaichi so we can actually play against other players worldwide with system link compat games
    EugeneVictorTooms's avatar
I'd love to see TS 2&3 ports on all consoles with cross platform multiplayer before 4 arrives... If 4 ever happens that is! These really do hold up in 2023 imo.
  21. blue_dingo06's avatar
TS2 still my fave game ever. Many hours spent throwing remote mines onto my mates faces or us all being monkeys chasing each other with fire extinguishers. Great depth with the challenges too. Was it 2 or 3 the remote controlled cat? Bonkers but brilliant.
    Ryan_Brown5Ib's avatar
The third one had the remote controlled cat - usually impossible to keep up right!
  22. Lee_Bateman's avatar
Do either of these support co-op campaign on XBL? I need this nostalgia with my mate
    oOFincHyOo's avatar
local only unfortunatly no online play
  23. slimy31's avatar
These were some of the first games I got set up on my Steam Deck, albeit the PS2 versions. Great games and well worth the money.
  24. hotshaun's avatar
    Will this work on PC?
    Arkz's avatar
No, they're original Xbox games that can run in back compat mode on Xbox One/Series consoles.
  25. deleted2787842's avatar
Loved playing as Sadako or Milk Baby
  26. Royvedas's avatar
Some of the greatest games ever. Don't have time or competencies to unlock stuff again.

Lots of nostalgia on Future Perfect with my little brother. Great on split screen multiplayer with bots
  29. Rocket0712's avatar
loved these back in the day
  30. Dumbfounded_Polymath's avatar
    Do these have input lag?
    Franzkill's avatar
Nope! The only issue appeared to be with controller sensitivity which felt too finicky for a lot of players but has since been patched with both games
