Nothing like this offer available on line and I doubt in store either.

    Are you winding me up???

For a start I stated it’s in store only quite clearly and you’re welcome to ring them to confirm. Your loss if you don’t believe me but I came on here to help others save Money and do my bit for the community on here. Please don’t insult me when trying to help others (edited)

The closure announcement yesterday said they are closing all branches with the exception of Denmark Street, London. All stores will close 31/03/2023. Assume this means fewer deals at present in the Denmark Street store, so perhaps check before travelling.

Feels that bit sadder when this type of store closes. Good luck to all staff in the future.

They’ve got 40% off t shirts, guitar hangers and stands, strings, 50% off all books. It’s just a crazy situation but I feel for the staff though as they’re all losing their jobs and been shafted

Retail is a female dog nowadays.

A real shame as musical instruments are one of the markets where having hands-on is still very important. Though consistency in manufacturing does make ordering online safer than it used to be. (edited)

I spoke to their HQ this morning and, as far as they're aware, this does not include stock at the London store.

Don’t suppose you noticed any Martin’s in there on offer?
    sparklehedgehog's avatar
    Author
Yes they definitely had some Martin acoustics 100% definite

Yeah that makes sense. The two guitars I bought were above that price line and even said includes gig bag on the tags lol

They unfortunately wasn’t open today. I did see the guys in the shop and had a quick chat. Guitar wise they have a few Michael Kelly’s and a couple of Ibanez at higher prices (between £800-£1000) after that is mostly lower end squires.

Didn’t get a chance to talk about drums, sorry

How sad another music store is closing down. But as long as you're happy that's all that matters

Eh? I’m not happy about it. I even sent an email to the staff as I’ve known some of them for years saying I wish them well etc. posting a deal doesn’t mean I’m evil

hilarious how everyone gets so excited about an american fender

99.9% of you wouldn’t even notice the difference between a USA fender and a MIM

    marketing at the true finest

cringey bandwagon excitement in galore (edited)

Incredible deal - shame it's in store only as I don't have a store near me. Great deal if you can get to one though!

I live 1 hour 50 from Exeter. I will call them in the morning as this would be worth the drive.
    RobWear's avatar
Please can you update as I am a similar distance from Exeter and will make a trip down on Saturday if worth the drive.

Best guitar deal I ever had was buying a new USA Martin - GPCPA4 - erroneously tagged as a Mexican model for just shy of £800, with hardshell green velvet case. Went through the till without a hitch, felt criminal.
  16. deadadij's avatar
    Great deal; no strings attached!
    scubamonster's avatar
At that price, you can probably afford your own strings and pay someone to fit them

Just been to the Stratford store and bought a fender jazz master and a squire strat. There was a £1600 Martin that I wanted but can’t afford it. Wish I could of got it.
    coerce86's avatar
Did they have many pianos on sale in stratford? tempted to head over this afternoon
  19. matty666's avatar
Can anyone confirm if the Stratford shop has any American Fenders? Either tele or strat?
    bargainbill's avatar
Not much over £500 in Stratford, picked up a 40th anniversary squire strat there today and there was 1 left.

Still a great guitar for an amazing price for my ability.

Just been in again today and all the fender guitar have gone, fair few squires left. Half the Taylor’s are still there (just bought myself an all koa acoustic for £726!) plenty of amps there Marshall’s, vox, Blackstar, lots of pianos left, some basses left. Roland tdk17 I think it was for £900 after discount .
    bertiesdad's avatar
Good to meet you in the queue earlier mate! Ended up buying Taylor 800 series for 1449 and a fender blues jnr for about 400. Thanks for the original post!

Staff absolutely awful in York, incredibly rude. Queued for an hour in the rain and they wouldn't let me downstairs to buy a drumkit. They wouldn't even tell me the models they had even when I was willing to prepay. Out of principle I won't be going back, no wonder they are going out of business.
    theframe8's avatar
I think they've had a pretty horrendous week tbf

49645285-2uu1J.jpgYork shop. I feel sorry for the staff - shame they have to deal with abusive customers on top of everything else.

Was in today. They closed at 1400 after not opening at all Friday. Staff were really good with everyone in the shop, including myself - going out of the way to offer help and give wait times despite the pressure.

As you'd expect, there was a mad rush on high ticket and big name instruments, so they're almost all gone. There's plenty of other stock left, just set expectations for instruments to low-mid range.

There was mention of not reopening until Tuesday.

    Hope that helps someone.
    bertiesdad's avatar
Really sad. I feel sorry for the staff. Some of the customers in Lincoln were so rude. One guy queued in front of me. Wanted them to hold on to his selection for 10 minutes while he chose something else. When the staff member at the till said he couldn’t he was really rude and stormed out. The guy was getting a fender jaguar MIM for 330… and not being fair to other customers…

I used to live in that shop (not literally) when it was Fox's Music in the early 2000s! One of the staff members is a chap that I used to skate with back in the day. He's still there now that it's Musicroom, which was nice to see. Great little shop and the staff are great.

So sad to hear it's not staying around. That said, it's normally fairly quiet so it's not a major surprise given the changes on the highstreet in general.

Still not too far from it, but it is a 50 odd mile round trip. Anyone want to message admin and convince them to let me go? (As in to the store, not fired) (edited)
  27. mark_douglas_'s avatar
Just checked out Edinburgh. It's pretty light on stock, particularly any guitars over £400. Great stock for beginners though and some good deals on pianos too.
    gken74's avatar
    @mark_douglas_

Did you notice if they had any Bass Guitars?

I'm looking to get my son one as he's doing in for his Music at school and I don't want to drive from Glasgow this afternoon if they don't have anything, I've tried calling but no joy

    Thanks in advance

Spoke to the nicest guy in Exeter store. Its 50% off display items. No taylors or martins but lots of tanglewood sigma etc.
He said if travelling tk ring ahead as likely open from 10 to 4 for the next week.

Lincoln had about 20 Taylor’s on display. They definitely had a koa 12 string and two koa 6 strings. One was about £1800 the other £5500? Mental discount on that one

I've tried to ring up the York store 5 times but no one is answering ,don't want to drive 2hrs to get there and find out they don't have any in stock .
    theframe8's avatar
I believe it's been very busy. I tried to speak to someone I know who works at the Stratford store and they said they were too busy fending off vultures 😄 I think you'll just have to risk going or risk missing out
  36. palinfelix's avatar
Edinburgh store has lots of lovely pianos at half price. Guitar selection was a bunch of tanglewoods, ibanez and fender acoustics. No martins, Taylors or fender electrics to be found!

Got myself a hohner harmonica for £15 (edited)
    reubenno's avatar
Thanks, that unfortunately saves me a trip

If anyone is near the York or Lincoln stores can you check and see if they have any of the Micheal Kelly Mod Shop Tele’s in stock?

Don’t need, but kinda want after messing around with one in Guitar Centre on the summer holidays
