About this deal
This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:
Virgin Media 1gps + O2 Unlimited (inc. data), Stream box, home phone, free install* £39.99 (18 month contract) £94 from month 19
This includes Virgin Media’s latest Hub 5, telephone service delivered over IP through a supplied RJ11 cable and a 4K/Dolby Stream box delivering TV over IP.
In store only. I could not find this package online, and after getting it myself 2 weeks ago, at an O2 store, I spoke to a local Virgin Media sales rep this week, who confirmed it is only available them or O2 stores/franchises.
After being on Three for 11 years, and their mobile broadband for 4 years, I wanted a change. I noticed an ad for O2 offering 5G unlimited data for £30, not much of a deal. I went into the O2 store, to get more information and was offered this deal, which was what I paying Three for both services. For me anyway, both Virgin Media and O2 services are much more reliable.
* Please note, after getting all of the documents via email, and there were a lot of them, I noticed they charged me a £75 activation fee for the Stream box! Of course I complained, and told them, that I was told there would be no charge when purchased my package, and they were happy to remove the charge.

I asked O2 CS what options I had, and they said change the sim contract for one with less data. I asked if it would change the virgin contract, and they said no they are separate. So I just upgraded to the £8/month one with 60gb data (posted on HUKD's today). (edited)
If you can get CityFibre in your area, 1gig down, 1gig up
I was getting about 60Mbps upload, 100Mbps download on my 4G on Three mobile broadband, for 4 years before it just suddenly dropped in speed.
For a just over a year I used a HUAWEI 5G router in 4G, when 5G became available, the 5G download speed was between 150-200Mbps, with the upload speed 1-7Mbps, which was unbearable! Even though unlocked, I couldn’t force it to use 4G only. I still had a 4G router lying around, and used that instead, but my speeds went down to around 30Mbps down, 9-18Mbps up.
So while the upload speed is low now, I’m sure in 18 months, more options will be available in my area. (edited)
Need to check with o2 now for the £25/sim only.
Hopefully useful info for people.
this shouldn't be a problem every where
The o2 sim contract is subject to the rise, but this starts straight away. I was told by an O2 advisor there is no way to get out of this, but said I could change to a lower data plan to negate the rise, so I upgraded to the £8/month (60gb data).
What do you mean? (edited)
Another one.
UK ISP Vfast Pledges NO Mid-Contract Broadband Prices Hikes, EVER
I can’t quite remember if it was Three or EE who first introduced these mid-contract RPI/CPI price hikes, just that they didn’t exist until around 10 years ago, my last mobile contract was in 2011 and which didn’t include yearly price increases.
In real terms technology depreciates over time, so there isn’t really any reason these companies should be increasing their prices. If it was necessary, they would have been done it from the beginning of the industry, which they they didn’t.
All contracts were 12 months until Three started, who then introduced 18 month contracts, and the rest followed suit. Three from what I remember, again started 24 month contracts, which as far as I’m concerned, are ridiculous!
We as consumers are getting fleeced, which is why this site and MSE, are so important! We can’t rely on regulators like Ofcom to do anything for us, in the short or long term, ever! (edited)
Almost everyone will have some form of gaming console or streaming service in their home - the faster the internet, the better the above will be.
Great deal BTW. (edited)
This says existing customers only, how can i get round this?

However, this 2023 price increase won't affect you until your current price offer ends. The full price of your package will then increase by £7.00 a month, subject to the new pricing terms".... My promo prices expires in April 2024...so I'm confused
