We have Evohome and it's been faultless for almost 9 years and looking for a system for the MIL to help control her crazy gas consumption but prices have gone through the roof and that's if you can actually find them in stock. (edited)
If broadband goes down I believe the default behaviour is to turn your heating/hot water on until internet restored (TRVs can still be manually operated). Probably the better safe-default than everything turning off.
You may need a plumber to replace older radiator valves that aren't compatible, or ones that have stuck in an open position. The support pages will tell you whether your valves are compatible and what adapters you need (included in box)
Being able to have a cozy living room whilst the rest of the house isn't being heated is great, and the convenience of setting up routines bespoke to each room is excellent.
I've just installed this system and it's had a few wobbles.
TVR batteries don't last very long, certainly not the ones that came with them.
As others, TRV is quite a bit out on temperature, so have had to compensate accordingly.
Overall I do feel it has gave me more control and certainly saved me money on rooms that were too warm or didn't need heating every time the heating came on.
On the short time I've had it, I'd recommend it.
You will need to be present on commissioning as the app controls everything.
I think I’d prefer this over the others for HomeKit integration but with winter nearly over I’m thinking to bide my time
