Any suggestions on something that's 50p that I can use to get free postage?
    Crossbow's avatar
One needs to spend at least £25 for free delivery nowadays amazon.co.uk/b/?…031, so I would recommend choosing a nearby pickup store, post office or hub locker & manually choose the free delivery option at checkout...

Forgot to mention you can buy it for £14.50 using £5 off on pickup if that’s available for you.
    pamela6052's avatar
Can pick up but no £5 off

Great fan however I think mine is missing two rubber isolation feet from the bottom of the stand. There are four stand offs and only the front two have them. Does anyone else have this issue? Thanks
    dalealan's avatar
It’s the way they come from the factory. If you Google the reviews they all only have the two rubber feet on the front. Not sure why though as it would have seemed better with the four.

How this compares to Meaco Fan 1056 ?
    BraddersJ's avatar
Not really comparable. The Meaco's selling point is the oscillation and DC motor.
And it's 5 times the price (edited)

I bought one of these a few months ago and it’s really good. Very powerful and not too noisy.

We have this and it's very good. I find it difficult to clean though.

Got a couple of these which probably saved me from melting last year when it hit 100 degrees in my flat

Great fans but not quiet either. (edited)

At least you didn't need to boil your kettle!

I have 2 of these and have had them a few years, they are Great, worth every penny
  9. Northerndave's avatar
How does this compare to an old skool oscilating fan? Is it really more powerful ?
    Crossbow's avatar
It's more powerful for its diminutive size, but could be noisier as a result especially on the max speed.
It doesn't oscillate, but can be manually pivoted 90° honeywellstore.com/sto…htm - so not great if you prefer oscillation, as most would I'd imagine.

Decided to buy this for our bedroom. We purchased a VAX 300 air purifier for the boys room a few years ago as it was the best buy in the Which Report. It's been really good tbh and I vacuum and wash the filter out every 6 months as I'm to tight to spend £50 on filters 😁

What are the actual dimensions - width x height x depth in cm please when stood upright without a tilt? Different sites mention different dimensions! Ta (edited)

Adding to the "I've got one of those" list. Bought mine 2 or 3 summers ago for £25. It's really good and sturdy. It's not quiet but I don't mind it.
In the past, particularly during heatwaves, the price went up to the £45 mark.
  13. help-me2's avatar
You could always try something like this if it gets really hot 💨The power fan

Not a fan of your jokes tbh.

Bought this last summer, insanely good.

How does this compare to your bog standard 12" desk fan you'd get from Screwfix?
    johnsquire334's avatar
I mean all fans are essentially the same. The difference between them will be the rate at which air flows through the blades.

Some have unique selling points like low power consumption or low noise. This particular one is marketed as low noise.
  17. Geldof84's avatar
Tested out the fan when it arrived yesterday and was very impressed with the power of it. Purchased another one so the kids have one each in their rooms when it gets really hot in the summer.
  18. naski666's avatar
Any recommendations on usb powered / battery powered, with a clip? I'm poolside a lot of time and need something to stop me melting. I tried something from AliExpress, it arrived yesterday. I put it to charge, and it set on fire!!!!! So looking for something from a more reputable supplier
  19. PC59's avatar
AVOID,bought it last year in the summer heat wave and it was absolutely useless, it was shooting hot air after 5 minutes of use and it's very noisy. My 15 year old tower fan bought from Lidl was doing a better job than this also the switch is awkward to use depending on position of the fan
    quantum77's avatar
This is the only -ve comment thus far... Just as I was about to pull the trigger?
  20. ceph042_'s avatar
Pulled the trigger! Got it for £14.50, a great deal.

The heat last year was unbearable, needed a cheap solution so I don't have to go through endless nights sweating. The reviews on this look great, and it's a Honeywell. Can't go wrong

I'll update this depending on how good (or bad) it is, got high hopes but you never know. Amazon returns are easy as ever so buy now, and if you don't like it return it.

  23. simba2585's avatar

30W i think for this model

I got this very good size - it's much bigger than USB fans and very strong
    friar_chris's avatar
Far far bigger. I wouldn't even make the comparison. Compact fan, plenty capable of shifting air.

My partner dug his out (bought a few months ago) to use last night. I'd say it definitely helps circulate cool air around the room (I could feel the benefit a bit, across from him in bed) though the power switch at the back is a faff in a darkened room! I'd assume you get used to it after a few uses.
    AgentBartonBones's avatar
all I can say is, you can get smart plugs that operate by voice now
  28. PowerClean's avatar
These are fine, the problem I have is that they can not be rotated lower than the base so if you want to angle it downwards you are stuffed.

    Summer is coming

I have been using this for the last two summers and at times (last summer's heatwave) this was on for 24 hours a days for days on end.

    Excellent powerful, reasonably quiet fan.

    You need this, voted hot

We’ve got 3 of these dotted around the house, amazing for the price and do a great job at keeping the dog cool on hot days too.

Is the meaco miles better than this or is this still good for most people?
    Ciarlo2006's avatar
It's like comparing apples and oranges. The meaco is 5x the price but worth every penny.

Brought one 3 years back for 26£ Going steady since then. Quiet and powerful. Ordered one more. Thanks OP
  36. greg666's avatar
Payed more in 2021, it’s ok for the money. I used it to bring my then Axolotl aquarium to a normal temperature and in my office from time to time.

Thanks OP. Purchased one last summer, and they're great. Ordered a second so I don't need to keep moving them around for the 2 days it's hot (edited)
  38. thekitkatshuffler's avatar
I've already got one but at this price I'll grab another for the bedroom.

    Cheers OP.
  39. toonsquirel's avatar
I’ve a couple similar and they always get stolen by the kids when weather is hot and prices go crazy so never bothered getting more and always say to myself I’ll get another before next year, this deal is perfect timing before that happens again.

Counting down the days to the next heatwave where fans are impossible to get for a very brief period
