Before anyone asks. Yes this TV is better than the C1 for watching TV/movies. As well as having slightly better picture processing than the C2 but less brightness.

Gaming as priority, you want to stick with LG whether it’s the C1, CS or C2. (edited)

Hello tv people, wondering if someone could help. I currently have a hisense 4k tv. Nothing fancy assume it’s a standard lcd display. In the market for a new 55inch. Casual tv and film watcher. Want my tv to last at least 5-8 years. Would I be better going for an QLED?

    Sony X90K.

Or go with this OLED for better image quality. But with reduced brightness. And you have to be careful as they are prone to permanent screen burn if used incorrectly. (edited)

Cracking tv had mine for 2 months was a offer on Amazon £850 for 55inch i didn't post the deal as my deals always get removed.
Give it a couple of weeks to bed in, soundwise imo you don't even need a soundbar the tv itself has very good sound quality, picture is superb too.
Heat added op as this is a great price.

If your TV isn't mounted, any chance you could measure how high the screen is off the TV unit?

Trying to work out if my soundbar would fit, wall mounting is not a great option as it's in a corner.

Like the price of this but think more of a bedroom tv as mentioned above, not sure would be bright enough for south facing livingroom, can be quite sunny at times. C2 brighter, but watch a lot of football and have read many places that Sony best for motion handling? Even a80k not too bright it seems, like look of Sony x95j as alternative to oled but no 55 model and 65 bit bigger than ideal. Decisions decisions!

Definitely check this out in person at a showroom if you can. When I went to buy one, I was very disappointed with how dim it was compared to the C1 and CS with all three set to their max brightness.

Should be a non-issue if you're planning to use it in a fairly dim room or primarily in the evening.

I have a LG 55 which isn’t bad but was always a Sony Bravia fan. Kids got our very old Sony 32” which is still great after 10 years. Maybe I should move the LG into our bedroom and by a Sony Google TV
