What sort of android do these run? Not hand an honor before but the specs look tempting for the price!

Magic UI, their own skin based on Android 11 (hopefully will get Android 12 upgrade in the future).

Would this be a better buy or phone than pixel 6a

    And @sayl100
Pixel 6a everyday, especially if camera quality is important to you...
    6a 122 score at dxomark.com/goo…st/
M4 Lite 61 score at dxomark.com/hon…st/ - 5G Magic4 Lite reviewed here, but the 4G version will likely be very similar.

    Specs comparison here gsmarena.com/com…229
The only aspects the M4 Lite has going for it over the 6a is the much faster charging, longer lasting battery, better external looks & larger screen size phonearena.com/pho…859 (edited)

Damn, I should have listened to others, I went ahead and got this for £152 but the camera is AWFUL, hardly any settings, blurred and dark, worse than my Redmi Note 8T which is 2 years older. So I have made a downgrade as far as the camera goes. Also although the screen is 6.8" it is more long rather than wide and long, so is not much extra use, I had hoped that size meant it would be close to my old Nexus 7 in size. I might have to think about sending this back or sell on. Maybe when the deal ends people on Ebay will want to buy a rarely used phone around the same price I paid.

Anyway, my fault, people on this thread tried to warn me, I was swayed by the price and screen size. To be fair, for £152 I am sure it is decent, but I am just shocked it is worse than my old Redmi Note 8T which I bought for the same price a few years back. What is the point of this fancy looking lens on the back if the camera quality is just the same as my old Moto G4 Plus ? (edited)

Oh dear so sorry to hear but thanks for this. This saved me and a lot of other people from buying.

Send it back ASAP find a reason - any reason... Maybe they would offer you an alternative option? Who knows but try.

Smashing deal from you OP. Although it is 4G version, other specifications like 6gb ram, 120Hz, 66W SuperCharge etc are solid from price point 🔥🔥

My apologies I was doing it wrong :/

Great price and great phone - I'm holding out in the vain hope Honor brings out a Mate 20X successor (I know, I know, I've said it on HUKD numerous times).

    Doesn't the 4G version have a 90Hz screen not 120hz? Website suggests only the 5G has 120Hz.

Yes I love magic4lite 5g. Can we not apply this voucher to 5g? Also, there is no option of applying a voucher?

It seems strange how manufactures seem to be going back in time with Snapdragon phones. It must be due to keeping costs to a minimum. A few years ago they were plugging budget phones with Snapdragon 800 series processors. Now we're getting equivalent phones with the 600 and 700 series. I think this model has a 680 S.D

Tbf to all manufacturers out there bar xiaomi, they have always used the Snapdragon 6 or 7 series for their more budget oriented phones, its only xiaomi who spoiled us with the likes Poco X3 Pro and poco F3 with Snapdragon 860 and 870 respectively.

Even xiaomi have stopped offering that sort of thing, so budget handsets are back at a status quo if you like

I have the Redmi Note 8T, would this phone be a worthy upgrade ? I don't need the 5g version.

Everything will be better on this except the cameras - this specs comparison features the 5G version, but camera quality will likely be more or less similar: gsmarena.com/com…423
The 8T cameras are not stellar either by today's standards - received a 84 score (similar 8 Pro) at dxomark.com/xia…ew/, so I'd try to go for something at least about the same or better. The Magic4 Lite received a paltry 61 score at Dxo!

I'd suggest something like an Oppo A94 5G for £175 (like new) ebay.co.uk/itm…953 with even better specs than the Honor overall, including the cameras (94 score) according to dxomark.com/opp…ts/
Specs comparison between all 3 gsmarena.com/com…423
Finally, the Honor is likely to get to only Android 12 max, while the Oppo is already on Android 13 (after updating to the latest) androidupdatetracker.com/p/o…-5g

Edit: Another one for £199 is an Oppo Find X3 Lite 5G ebay.co.uk/itm…677 with an even better camera (105) dxomark.com/opp…ut/
This is also on Android 13 androidupdatetracker.com/p/o…ite
