Does it really differ from any other generic Window Vac available at Wilko, Aldi etc. ? At the end of the day, all of these products are made in China anyway, most likely in the same factory, so why pay an inflated price ?

I thought the same and bought the screwfix one first which lasted a whole 6 months before completely dying on me. That left streaks but overall I was pleased with it.

Then I got a second hand karcher one it's one of the older models and boy was I surprised how much better it was. No streaks, can use at an angle and it doesn't sound like it's going to die, last for ages between charges. Definitely a very product, I'm not usually a brand crazy person but in this case it does seem you get what you pay for.

I succumbed to the hype finally bought one of these a few weeks ago. Returned it the next day, honestly I don’t understand why people are so obsessed with them - it’s just a total faff and you’ll get better results using a microfibre cloth.

I agree, this is basically a squeegee with a vac attached. I was about to buy one of these last time, but instead bought a £10 squeegee just to see if I got along with it better (I was dead set on a karcher). The squeegee is much better imo

Can you suck up spill on a worktop surface with these?

    You can indeed

not great for cleaning windows, but brilliant for sucking all the water off the shower to keep it clean and reduce condensation

So will this clean the windows
    ThermalRider's avatar
No, it doesn't actually clean windows, it just sucks up the water after you've washed them, relatively streak free.
Basically it's a wiper-blade and vacuum with water tank rolled into one.
Also handy for removing condensation on the inside of windows on cold mornings.

I see lots of people saying they use this to wipe condensation from a shower screen. Forgive my ignorance, but is this a first world problem? Never in my life had I thought about wiping clean the shower screen after I've had a shower. You'd just let everything dry naturally, as for every other surface in the bathroom. What did you all do before this was invented?

If they'd create a sink vac, you'd expect people to suck all the residual water from the sink after they washed their hands - first world problems? I hope there is a rational explanation.

I dread to think the level of watermarks you must have on your shower if you never clean it!
