If this os the same mechainism as i have already (before i bought the one from screwfix) i find it a real pain having to hold the blade fully forward with the mechanism on the top. i would not choose an Auto retractable type ever again.

this is a standard retractable knife, the one you have is a safety knife....and yes, they're a pain to use.
