40 hours battery life?! My (also Logitech) keyboard has been running over a year and counting, on a pair of AAAs. Granted, it hasn’t got rainbow lights, but I couldn’t trade battery life for bling.

hot for the price, as Logitech does great keyboards, and it’s mechanical, but be aware of the trade offs, as there are other excellent Logitech keyboards with multi year battery life.

I'm not sure how long mine lasts, but I'm fairly sure it's more than that. It depends how much RGB brightness you use.

I've got tons of Eneloop batteries for most scenaries, but I do like that the battery is rechargeable as I can just pull over the cable on my desk and just continue playing while it charges with next to no hassle.

My standard Logitech keyboard runs on batteries, as you say a year or two. But, a completely different type of keyboard, response times and no backlight.

Hmm, inflated price just prior to the sale price aside, would anyone recommend this for typing/coding on a Mac? (as opposed to gaming on a PC which i always assume is the main aim of these). Cheers.

I use this keyboard on both my Windows pc and my Mac. I had issues trying to get the keyboard mappings working perfectly on the Mac. I eventually used a custom keyboard layout (made with an app called Ukulele). It was painful, but I got it working fine in the end. I mostly use this keyboard for programming on the Mac, and for gaming on the PC. I had both versions of Apples Magic Keyboard and I far prefer the Logitech - hence my perseverance with the key mappings.

While I do enjoy using this keyboard and think it looks great on my desk - I don’t like the fonts used on the keys, though I have gotten used to it. And another point to make is that the secondary commands on the keys are not lit. That’s fine during the day, but annoying in low light when you sometimes need to find a rarely used key.

Highly recommend this keyboard and Logitech in general are brilliant. I messaged them about buying a replacement key as one of mine had some minor damage. They just sent me a brand new keyboard free of charge…

I recently changed my regular G915 to the TKL version.

Both the full size and this version are excellent and this is a good price for this model.

Bought it this price from Amazon 2 years ago, surprising their deal price hasn't really budged over such a long period, it is a solid board that has held up great.
My only complaint has been the low-profile keycaps which are not replaceable, and are prone to breaking when you try to remove them for cleaning. (edited)

Thanks for posting giving this a shot. I've always been against wireless for gaming but ill give Logitech a chance. I like the fact its low profile so hopefully less stress on the wrist, just hope they don't feel like laptop keys. Micro USB in 2023 was nearly a deal breaker but I've talked myself into it.

In contrast to other posts, the G915/G815 are awful. The responsiveness is first class, can't argue with that, but the build quality is poor in addition to the fact that they purposely designed it to be unrepairable.

If you snap one of the very small pegs that the keycaps use to attach to the switch, you can't simply replace the keycap with any old Choc V1 keycap. They purposely went out of their way to slightly change the switch design so that they won't work with any other caps, and to get replacements you have to go through Logitech themselves and hope that they can help you.

The keycaps themselves are poor painted ABS. If you have particularly problematic hands when it comes to skin oil, good luck as they won't last 6 months before the coating rubs off.

Due to the nature of the poor Choc V1 style stems, all of the keycaps wobble like crazy. You can literally shake the keyboard lightly and it feels like you have a bulk buy box of tic tacs. There are ways to fix this, all involve the risk of snapping the stems.

The switches themselves are also notorious for being inconsistent. I went through 4 boards before giving up completely. The "tactile" switches are mostly just that, but every board I have tried has some keys that have a loud audible click as if they are blue switches. This is a known fault, and Logitech themselves have admitted multiple times that the issue is with their supplier, has not been fixed, and will never be rectified. In other words "put up or shut up".

TLDR: It's a cheap and nasty mess of a board that's still rocking micro USB in 2023. Unless you're comfortable spending hours modding it to get it to a somewhat satisfactory state, it's not worth it.

There are many Keychron boards that offer a fulfilling mechanical keyboard experience and are responsive enough with a cable attached for 99.9% of gamers out there. They offer this for less than the asking price of the Logitech board, have way more variety in terms of layout, support standard switches which can be easily swapped for any switch you want down the line, support standard stabilisers and keycaps, have RGB, can be fully customised and programmed, have better build quality, and are easy to mod to your hearts content should you wish to do so.

I’ve just watched a few reviews of this keyboard and all of your points appear to be on the money. Had high hopes for this keyboard. Disappointed.

Finally managed to buy a full size one for the same price. I've been waiting nearly 6 months, but it's worth it

I didn’t get on with a Corsair K100 with OPX switches and went back to one with Cherry MX Silent, I think I would struggle to find a good reason to want to try another keyboard again but I wish there was an easy way to test them out as I’m always tempted when I see these deals!

I had a Razer Chroma which a work colleague broke cleaning the keys Anyway I bought a Roccat Vulcan 100 which was awesome but it didn't last 12 months before the keys started giving double key presses (a common issue with the Roccat switches). So I got Amazon to take it back and I bought a Corsair K100 with Cherry MX Speed keys, I only paid £119 and it's up on Amazon for £209 atm! I quite like it apart from it's a bit too loud for my liking. I also don't like the resonating noise from the keyboard chassis after typing. Was it just the feel of the keys you didn't like? I could have bought the OPX version but wasn't certain so went with Cherry.

If you had searched this up on here it's been £110 a few times. But probably been a few months since its been this price. Maybe last November I guess not sure.

Might be worth the hassle of returning for £40?

The g915 with a numb pad also the same price? Also can you use the one g-dongle (mouse and keyboard?)
    TechFiend's avatar
    TechFiend
It's a specific dongle for the keyboard, as it says G915 in big letters on the dongle. Would have been nice to use one dongle, as I've got a Logitech Pro wireless mouse too. Although, most PC's do have tons of USB ports!
