As part of the SteelSeries "Go For Glory" celebration, they are giving 20% off your entire order - you'll get 20% off anything and everything you buy in one order using the code "G… Read more

Heat added, cheers OP. People are only voting cold because they're not prepared to pay for quality - apparently cheaper means better quality on here. I personally prefer the Astros, but Steelseries are still a good brand.

Ironically the people whinging are the people who probalay have no intention of buying anything

That sums up the reaction nicely!

Wish this site had gold star comments!

"What's that? 20% off their entire range on their website? Is it compatible with my Commodore 64? It's not 25% off ... and you can get an inferior model from a different brand for £10 less over at this random chinese company, but there's only 1 item and it's damaged stock ... COLD!!!!" /s .... (annoyed) Heat added. Good share OP.

Only US format is missing a key (it's so annoyed, borderline arrogant!). EU format has the right number of keys so touch-type or swap them round, I have a laptop with a German keyboard and it's mildly annoying but doesn't really bother me, not as much as half-height enter keys anyway.

Scan sell a set:

Very Tempted because of the saving. It doesn’t look too different from the pictures if the y and z are swapped but those character changes will annoy me. Does anyone know where you can buy a conversion kit with the correct keys?

All gone!

Those had white leds, I just want something to go along with my g502

Good point. Basic R lighting then. :D

I think the g610 and 710 was cherry from them.

Not bad price but isn't RGB (red, green, blue) backlight, only single colour of red. Also, while no dedicated macro keys does have ability to use LGS to program custom functions and macro commands on the F1-F12 buttons. :)

Just seen Roccat Ryos TKL Pro brown switch is only £39.99 on Amazon

Cheap Backlit Mechanical-Feel Keyboard - Free Next Day Delivery £14.99 @ Ebuyer

Cheap Backlit Mechanical-Feel Keyboard with Free Delivery. Keyboard gets great reviews. From Ebuyer not Ebay - free next day delivery too :)

They use yodel for delivery, good luck with that

Not TRUE mechanical. So COLD from me.

Get a real mechanical keyboard Any cheap one is better than membrane, membrane keyboards are horrible, they have a digusting feeling once you use a mechanical

The keyboard i use when i have to be in an office with others is mechanical feel, a turtle beach impact 100. If this feels anything like that then it should strike a nice balance between feel and noise.

cicobuff Very good for the money, comes up occasionally with promotional extra discount. Branded as TeckNet but is the Eastern Times Technology co. Ltd I-600 mechanical keyboard that gets glowing reviews, possibly the best budget mechanical keyboard you can buy. Has Outemu switches which are similar to Cherry Blue switches. Review

Zalman ZM-K500 USB Mechanical Keyboard £26.81 Amazon

Mechanical type High quality liner type switch 5 multimedia keys for easy access Ultra durable laser carved key caps Compact layout and Ergonomic design

Of course it could. If they removed all the keys and replaced them with spikes it would be worse.

Assuming you've got your mouse on the right of your keyboard removing the numpad (tenkey-less) means you can centre your keyboard and have your mouse closer to the centre. It's great so long as you're not doing data entry on the regular. If you've got a regular keyboard move it so that H is centred in front of you, now rest your mouse on the numpad. It's comfy right?

It's the design, people by keyboard with out the number pad. TK less.

Shocking reviews... I wouldn't buy it...

No numpad either, could this keyboard be any worse? Cheap for a reason..

If it allowed someone to use a proper ellipsis then I would say it was worth it.

2 hrs a day then.... worth paying 10 x the price of a cheaper keyboard......?

Probably is if you use a computer for an hour a day.

Seems overpriced for that particular function.....

Can confirm on my dispatch notice the mouse pad is a freebie! =)

can't recommened it due to software is the most complicated i have ever seen you can add a profile or a catagory of game to add macro in, however you cannot delete it and there is no way to set toggle on macro or on a button, you sacrifice capslock key for easyshift key and only place easyshift key can be re-maped to is 1 of the 5M-keys (macro key) either way u loose a button plus easyshift can't be recorded on the fly it has to be set in software before only macros can be set on the fly is the provided 5 M-keys and yes it is using old cherry mx keys not the newer ones.

Question for the experienced I guess - I've got the wireless logitech keyboard and mouse with Unity on it, started to game on the PC, i very occasionally get sticky/slow keys and thinking of getting a mechanical keyboard.. However, is it really going to change my life in experience? I don't have a gaming mouse anymore and imo even gaming mice vs high quality logitech ones aren't too far off?

I really dont know and I cant explain it either as I had a Corsair K95 that I had for a year before it was sold on and that was something like 4 or 5 years ago?? I cant remember exactly but the LEDs in that are going strong. Maybe the manufacturer of the switches were just cutting corners with later batches??? So many LED keyboards were being returned Im sure it was not just an isolated incident. Like i said, I bought a DuckyShine III for £130-140 at the time thinking the LEDs would last forever because DuckyShine are well known for the build quality of their keyboards but nope... LEDs still started dying. Dealing with Corsair Customer Support became one of my pet peeves as their K95 i had before didnt have the same issues with LEDs in the keyboards that came after that. Maybe it was a Cherry MX Browns issue?? WHo knows.

I've had my "old LED" backlit mechanical for 3 years and it still lights up fine. It is only one colour though and uses Cherry MX Reds, maybe it's luck of the draw, the keycaps aren't exposed either, they all snugly fit together.

Oh wool is a conductor now is it? I think you slightly mangled static electricity there.

Corsair K65 Rapidfire RGB Cherry MX Red Compact Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Refurbished £61.99 @ Scan

thats not bad but its not RGB which is the multi colour version i like but i think il either stick with the cheap keyboard i bought in maplins when closing down or pick one of the corsairs when they get to my biting point though ive noticed there is several different versions like the cherry or the brown bit but cant tell the differences

How about this one

im not a touch typist but i just fancy a decent RGB keyboard that will last me a long time to match my new logitech mouse

I bought a k60 from them many years ago, I passed it down to my cousin and it still works great, my cousin the got a k70 lux but scan replaced it quickly

not really, just keep an eye out and get a deal. i bought a CMStorm one, but i would get pretty much any cheap cherry switch keyboard if i wanted to. i've seen a lot of keyboard sales on HUKD and been tempted many times just to get another different set of cherry switches. just read a review and buy whatever sounds good to you. a £40/£50 keyboard will do fine, after that you are just paying for luxuries like individual backlit keys or niche design features.

Thank you for the info. Any company you think I should look out for, I did get the tesco offer a while ago when it went down to £50 but that was cherry red. Thanks

get cherry brown switches, they are more tactile, but close to the accentuation speed of cherry red key presses. best of both worlds.

Link not working I assume now Oos?

I have the S version and love it. It doesn't feel as premium as a K65/70, but it's solid. I'd pick it over the K65 every time.

Key caps are. Takes five minutes to wash them, your keyboard will look like brand new

Not dishwasher safe.

Damn, that is one nasty keyboard. Ever heard about washing liquid?

Mine are just painted (3 years old Straffe RGB Brown) The "D" key is badly affected, "S" is just starting to wear off.

They uploaded a picture of the US layout (ANSI w/small enter key), but the listing says it's the UK layout model.

I'd buy this if it wasn't for the tiny enter key...

I paid £75 for a discounted cherry red keyboard. This is the cheapest I have seen a mechanical keyboard with cherry red switches. So hot for the price I can't see a mention of backlighting though and I personally will not buy a keyboard without backlighting.

Yes, but this is made by Gigabyte and isn't meant to be interchangeable. Obviously if the keyboard is designed to be interchangeable then it will support it properly. This isn't the same comparison.

I bought a corsair k95 which came with both us and uk lay out which are interchangeable + their keycaps

The half height enter key is the issue and US format has one less key, so that does not fix the issue. I touch-type and don't look at the keys so even an QWERTZ or AZERTY would be better than US format. But for me, I'd rather have a good UK-format membrane keyboard than a cheap non-UK format mechanical, I'd only end up resenting saving a few quid for something I intend to use for a few years.

This is actually a fairly cheap keyboard if it the switches are genuine. Could easily buy some pbt keycaps for it (UK layout)

It’s a stock photo. The actual description says ‘UK QWERTY’.

That makes no difference. Second hand you'd get £150 for the watch even with it due a service. It would then be the price of a service on top to grab it again at £300 plus you'd have a brand new watch again. Automatic watches under a few hundred are pretty disposal. Given the choice of paying £150 for a service Vs selling and paying £150 on top. I know what you're saying but unless it's sentimental it makes more sense to flip it and put the cost of the service in to getting a brand new watch. In fact the come up alot at £260 with codes so I'm most cases it's cheaper to sell it and buy a new one instead of service.

You seem to have forgotten that this watch has been bought at a bargain basement price, so it makes a lot of sense to have it serviced.

Nice watch but cost of a service is nearly the same price as the watch (about £140 with Hamilton). So makes more sense to flip it and buy new one each time. Which obviously feels a little odd (lol)

It arrived, love it.
