Razer Blackwidow Chroma V2 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Yellow Switch £99.97 at LaptopsDirect
Posted 13th JunPosted 13th Jun
Price drop for this popular keyboard.

They just asked me for the code which shows green switch and is different to the code in the invoice....

Interesting to see if anyone actually got the yellow switches. When I requested a refund they asked for photos of the keyboard (confused) However they were fine when I said no and sent me a return label.

Exactly the same here. Sent me green switches. First and last time using laptops direct 😡

Mine arrived today and it was the green switches, they've been discontinued so refund for me :S

Have had numerous product's over the years and never had a single problem. Well made and have never let me down.

Sure, but compared to Blues, I wouldn't say they're Clicky (:I More of a tactile bump, but I understand what you mean!

I wouldn't say brown aren't clicky. I wouldn't use them in a shared office still.

Personally think there's quite a clear difference, I was set on getting cherry mx browns but I thought I'd get a switch tester from eBay to try the switches before splashing out on a keyboard. Turns out I find the browns to feel quite horrible, worse than a membrane keyboard to me. Supposedly others online say that gateron brown switches aren't as scratchy and are more tactile than cherry mx, but I preferred the satisfying clickiness of the cherry mx blue. Cherry mx clears are harder to find but apparently also feel less scratchy and more tactile than browns

Yes but it’s because it’s subjective you shouldn’t ask someone else to describe them to you! (lol) Only way to know what keys work best is to try them out in person - no reviews or Google guides will help otherwise.

I have this keyboard and I love it. YMMV. Heat from me.

Corsair keyboard drivers and CUE software have issues with freezing in some games (I have experienced this first hand in Rainbow Six Siege with a K55)

Personally I find blue switches to work just fine. However, this is my opinion.

shame they only sell the blue switches in the UK. red or brown would be nice,

Blue switches are not a nice choice for gaming (not just because of the noise).

Yeah daft.. Blue switches are the loudest ones aren't they. Who wants to sound like a typewriter if gaming? (skeptical)

That's the way with these computer components...

Seems decent for a mechanical. Free delivery over £50.

Original Kailh switches are not on par with what they are producing now. These are low end switches, probably slightly better than Outemu.

Looks like a cool shape

Are they good ones?

Unless you have a better theory why keycaps go blurry, I have no idea, it's just a guess.

The mind boggles as to how the creams might cause this. It is rather a pleasant boggle though. (cheeky)

It might be all the creams I put on my face and body or my right-handedness, I'm not sure, but it's always those keys that go first. I would blame it on being wasted and typing mnmmngmffnmg but I'm rarely drunk (for a Glaswegian) ;)

Are you the Cookie Monster? nomnomnom

Thats not mechanical, but the misleading semi-mechanical which are just membrane keys but they put a stem (the blue bit here) It ignores all the rest of the part that makes a mechanical keyboard "mechanical" Lot of people get ripped off by this and they should be forced to ditch calling them semi-mechanical. Also if it were a genuine mechanical, I highly doubt it has German made cherry switches.

80 quid for a keyboard?

AKKO is a good Chinese brand, they normally do a lot of partnering with Ducky. Best to check some reviews though!

Heat for the beauty of the thing, I definitely want it for the looks but will it actually be any good?

I can imagine custom stickers for these key caps.

Thats gorgeous but i don't need another keyboard. And don't get me started on custom keycaps!

Nice keyboard

I have this very keyboard Pros: Quality feel / Mechanical / nice fancy lighting / good for gaming and heavy enough to knock someone out should they try and break into your home. Cons. Not great when typing a word document as you can easily knock a key and you end up with plenty of splelling mistakes (see) / It wouldn't be nice if anybody tried to break into your home!

Got mine yesterday. Not sure I like it, might just take a bit of getting used to (moving from chiclet-style keyboard)

Anyone confirm these are brown switches? Might grab one as a spare. They use TTC brown switches, which are supposedly one of the better copy of the Cherry MXs. (Almost the same feel, and given the same life span)

I've got this as a backup for my Roccat Kova Aimo and it's a nice feeling keyboard.

The green switches in these are not a patch on Cherry switches. Feel very spongy. Still a good price.

I brought this keyboard off ebay (second hand of cause) was around this price i think, only issue i have with it is the "T" key keeps double tapping and i am not sure why, taken key off blown on it and made sure nothing is catching but when i decide i need to type i get tthe, whatt etc can be annoying. other than that seems like a decent keyboard though i probably go for a compact one if i decided to buy another keyboard.

thats crazy high for shipping :/ ah well :)

Nah, it's another £10.50 for shipping making the total £60.49 if you're not a member of their forums

these are usually £185 so for me this is a great deal, the iCue software that you download gives you millions of different options, i have a K70 and its due an upgrade so i will grab one of these!

Great keyboard, the software for controlling the lighting is not good and doesn't give nearly enough control options.

Not sure why people are voting this cold to be honest, yes it's a lot of money for a keyboard. But you are going to have to pay for a quality mechanical keyboard, and for this particular one I haven't seen cheaper for a while.

Good price for this IMO, I have a K70 and it's a great keyboard. Only thing I would say is everyone has personal preferences on which cherry's they like. I'd advise going into Game or Curry's and trying them out, personally I like the reds, but everyone's different.
