No need to shuck them, the drives are removable and will have there own warranty. I think they only have two years on the drives though, rather than the normal 3 years for Reds bought separately.

Horrorwood

looks as though they've hidden it better* (y)

jasee

I remember reading there was a hard wired backdoor in some of these WD My Cloud networked devices but it looks as though they've fixed it :)

jasee

Not worth it then, if you are shucking. And you would lose any extended warranty. But I suppose this has to be voted hot if you want 20 TB of external storage.

MentalFloss

Great deal. 10 TB HDD's are 250-270 a pop so you are essentially getting the box for free

If your set up is compatible, get the Samsung 970 evo or pro. It's about 7 times faster, I got the 500gb version for £90

mollyalicekee

SATA wasn’t made for moving platters exactly. It’s an interface that’s been used with both the traditional power+data cable setups and also now the M.2 slot. The M.2 slots, depending on your hardware can either use the SATA or NVMe (PCI-E) interface. As these modules have the option for SATA modules but with the M.2 connector still, people get confused as to which exactly is correct for their systems but it’s all just a little bit more complicated now it would appear.

sam_of_london

No they have different interface. The sata interface was made for moving platters. NVME only exists because SATA is so slow.

That's raw obviously and with manufacturers rating a GB at 1000 MB yet Operating Systems rating 1024MB it appears no where near that. 11 are in a software ZFS RaidZ3 Array so only 8 drives are data with 3 redundancy. The remaining 12th drive is a cold spare so that should any of my drives fail I can replace it quickly. Just a bog standard HP DL180 Gen9 2U Rack Server with dual Xeon Processor and 64GB of RAM.

Thank you Mr Eriksen, you've been a great help!

mreriksen

HS60 is a surround sound headset and can be controller via iCUE software, but other than that they are the same. For PS4 it wouldn't make any difference as you only get the surround sound on PC.

K4SIM

Anyone know the difference between the HS50svs HS60s? I'm a PS4 gamer and I'm not sure if I can justify paying the price difference!

Can you send the link to this please..thanks.

cicobuff

I have read that the IR for tracking can be improved by updating the firmware...only problem with that is you have to take apart the unit and buy a (albeit cheap) ST-Link USB dongle to connect to an internal header. I am most certainly going to be doing that before passing negative judgement on the unit. Certainly although future support looks bleak there is plenty of gaming options there for its £100 that is for sure...not to mention being able to use it as a movie theatre...a decent enough dip in the water into the world of VR whilst the marketplace matures more that is for sure.

cookied

nearly cancelled my order but saw a few youtube vids with decent project cars & elite dangerous vr clips & some saying once set up it should play just about any vr game on steam so i thought fk it..... £99.00 ive got to give it a go...

Is this a good deal or what are the better options for up to 90 quid? Been looking at the fnatic keyboard that is around this price

kulj_no1

The mouse is excellent. I would of gone for the wireless if it was a tad cheaper. I use a mouse bungee and I never notice the wire. I also went to Currys to see what sort of cherry switch I would like by testing out various keyboards. If you have never used a mech keyboard it's a little difficult at first but after a couple of weeks you get used to it and you will never look at a membrane keyboard again.

Jbotz

how do you rate the mouse? , i might go currys and check out the keyboards as it been a while

kulj_no1

I have one and it was my first mech keyboard. I have cherry reds and i think it great for everyday use and gaming. I also purchased a Logitech G502 at the same time.

abigsmurf

For those wondering: Red switches = completely smooth motion until the key bottoms out (the key registers halfway down) Blue Switches = clicky, Key registers with the click. Brown Switches = Smooth motion but with a light and silent click sensation where the key registers I prefer Brown switches personally

Patriot Burst SSD 120GB - £17.96 Prime / £22.45 Non-Prime @ Amazon

Lowest price it's been according to Camelcamel. Probably could add something at £2.04 to get the free delivery which would work out cheaper overall.
Pavanm

Could also get the 240gb version for about £10 extra!

Gentle_Giant

A great price, but not worth the risk. bought 3 240GB models from this range and only 1 is still working, the other 2 died within 18 months. Yes, Patriot have a 3 year warranty, but you have to package and send it overseas; assuming you can get through to them to arrange a return, took me WEEKS of being bounced around US and EU offices. When I saw the cost of the required postage, just after the 2nd died, I binned them. So fast, cheap, unreliable; if I want that, I will buy an even cheaper Chinese one.

Good luck finding stock!! Tesco in Watford had about 20 swing tickets for the Turtle Beach XO One, at £14.50 each, to be collected from the Technology Department. After 15 mins of waiting, it turns out they have no stock and haven't had any for months. Contacted their support team via Twitter, who kindly checked stores within 30 miles of where I live - no store had any.

Yes I also tried to put it on discovery mode but still cannot find. I will try it on my friends echo show tonight and will let you all know. It probably the remote is faulty.
