Hotel Chocolat Velvetiser Hot Chocolate Machine + Free 2 Cups (Grade A Refurbished) for £50.59 with code

Condition: Excellent - Refurbished:
Seller notes:
“12 Mth warranty, Refurb product. This item is professionally refurbished. It may have minor cosmetic marks or scratches and may come in non retail packaging.”

Two colours available at this price

Engineered by Dualit, this chic hot chocolate machine creates barista-grade hot chocolate, made with real grated chocolate flakes, in just 2.5 minutes. No need for the resident hot chocolate maker to slave over a hot stove, slowly heating milk and showering cocoa powder. Instead, simply plug in your Velvetiser, choose your chocolate and your milk – dairy or plant-based, or even water if you prefer – and press the button. Plus, with the removable whisk and non-stick coating, cleaning is easy – just rinse out with cold water. (It’s not suitable for dishwashers – but they’d just slow you down anyway.)

Included with your Velvetiser:

  • 2 Brand New ceramic Podcups

Fantastic price; got mine from the same seller at the exact same price point just before Christmas, and it came new in the box - I think most are just returns, not with any extensive (or any) actual use

It's a fantastic item that gets used daily for both Chocolate & Coffee - it performs and produces a different finish than a milk frother (I have both), so don't listen to those comments (and besides, it looks far better living on the counter - milk frother live in the cabinet!)

Hotel Chocolat flakes are fantastic but are stupidly expensive. To save some pennies I save their flakes for special occasions, and use Olvetene Light for the other days - 4 teaspoons, and milk to the level line, then top up with hot water once complete; it produces a frothy and delightful chocolate drink - it's my nightly vice (edited)

Bought one of these a few years ago, still use it daily, perfect flavours at the right temperature. Hint from me - buy trade packs of the chocolate from Pendragon Drinks, same stuff, perfect for the Velvetiser, save ££

Half pendragon price at cfw (£65 for 10kg 70% belgian chocolate)

I'd like to try before I buy, anyone in the West Midlands, b'ham city centre area that can host a hot chocolate tasting event 😜 that owns one of these (edited)

D&S Bargains in Kings Heath sell the 10 packs of Hotel Chocolat hot chocolate for £3 compared to about £12, all you really need is that and milk frother

If you want a lukewarm hot chocolate these are fantastic
    Cooling_Deals's avatar
Nope - 70 degrees, which is nice and hot, not lukewarm (and any hotter would be too hot) Produces a pleasant drink, and I never had any complaints

Maybe you got a faulty one... (edited)

You don’t need a velvetizer you just need a milk heater such as a nespresso , mio etc, the MOST important part is the Hotel Chocolat chocolate mix, NOTHING and I mean Nothing else comes close, It’s beats EVERY other hot chocolate by a million miles (edited)

Try Whittard of Chelsea. Amazing HC.

I was looking at these for mothers day, and i was actually put off by the reviews... it seems a lot of people have issues with the units breaking, sometimes even after hardly any use. I couldn't be doing with the hassle of returning it on what seems the regular, so i decided to not bother
    mcivoronline's avatar
Had mine since mid December. Used a LOT and Christmas and still used once or twice a week now. No issues. Great little unit

Probably better to pay the extra to get a new one direct from jotel chocolat is it 69 quid new with their membership vip me club? You then get the 12 month warranty.

Prime retailing customer service is awful also, my package was stolen off my doorstep and they refused to do anything. Had to do a charge back in the end.

Has any one tried their Hotel Chocolate velvetiser using Oatly or other oat milk and milk alternatives? I can’t have dairy at present and I love hot chocolate.
    jamesrobertkerr1997's avatar
It works perfectly. Get the Oatly Barista Edition.

Don't all of these come with the 2 'free' cups. So much hype around this thing.
    Ashe's avatar
Given it's described as refurbished rather than new, probably necessary to say whether or not it comes with them.

    Fifty quid!!!!!???? Nah!
    Mrepg's avatar
Same, when they are £15 I might nab one

I bought my son one for Christmas and it's a decent little machine, he uses it for coffee too. If you register the machine online then they will give you a free box of fancy biscuits too.

These make incredible hot chocolates. Well worth the purchase if you have a few a week!

Great product. Also purchased a refurbished one back at Christmas. Works great with hot chocolate powder too. My only complaint is that it's only 1 size. Otherwise, extremely easy to use and clean.

My sons bought me one for Christmas 2 years ago, absolutely love it, use it every very day, lovely hot chocolate, quick to make and easy to clean, most definitely heat from me
  15. PEETSY_BOY's avatar
Have one of these annoying to clean imo
    dw94's avatar
Put washing up liquid in, top up to the fill line with water and switch on.

Can someone tell me what is special about these? Cannot I just use a normal pot to melt chocolate
    Cooling_Deals's avatar
You can, but then you get hot chocolate - this creates a frothed top, and also smooths the drink (hence "Velvetiser"); it creates a luxury finish to even the most mundane chocolate drink (I use it with Oveltene)

Bought one from this lot at the back end of last year. It’s great. Wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it is.

Highly recommend Rococo hot chocolate too. Their white chocolate and cardamom is great though a bit expensive.

Same as 5 days ago but code valid. That post is still open

    May I'm doing something wrong?

Can someone who's had this and tried making it home with a milk frother etc comment on the difference? Can you just buy nice chocolate flakes and get a very similar result?
    Cooling_Deals's avatar
Have both - the difference is in the finish - the frother builds up a large froth (i.e. by design) and is lovely, especially in coffee - can put chocolate in, and you get frothy chocolate.  This one will actually do the same if you only use half the capacity using just milk, but if used as intended (so milk to the level line) it provides a smooth drink, with slight froth on the top.

It's the same approach but different results; timing, qty, and (maybe) whisk speed are slightly different to provide teh different results.  I use this more than I do the Frother, mainly because it sits on the worktop and looks the part

Avoid this company, if anything goes wrong they will leave you high and dry. My package was stolen, they put in a claim for costs from Evri but refused to give me a refund. Had to do a charge back in the end. Ended up just getting it direct from
    hotel chocolat.  (edited)

You got had off then mate. Given its from eBay and PayPal, you could have just opened a dispute. What generally side side with buyers

I’m really looking for a easy use (and easy clean) milk frother to make my latte/ cappuccino. Will this do the job? The one I got from Aldi lasted a month and stopped spinning; customer services don’t return my calls or emails
    Thanks
