Price Drop from £78.48 to £76.77 24/04

Price dropped from £89.99 to £78.48

This would work in a PS5 despite being below the RECOMMENDED (not required) speeds. You should buy a heatsink if you want to use this in a PS5. Speeds - 3500/2800MB/s R/W.

Kingston’s NV2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD is a substantial next-gen storage solution powered by a Gen 4x4 NVMe controller. NV2 delivers read/write speeds up to 3,500/2,800MB/s¹ with lower power requirements and lower heat to help optimize your system’s performance and deliver value without sacrifice. The compact single-sided M.2 2280 (22x80mm) design expands storage up to 2TB² while saving space for other components, making NV2 ideal for thinner notebooks, small form factor (SFF) systems, and DIY motherboards.

Available in capacities from 250GB – 2TB² to give you all the space you need for applications, documents, photos, videos, and more.

  • Gen 4x4 NVMe PCIe performance
  • Ideal for Laptops & Small Form Factor PCs
  • Capacities up to 2TB²

Personally I'd avoid this due to it being QLC. I know it says TLC in the screenshots, that's because it was TLC on release but Kingston switched to QLC to save money some time ago and didn't feel the need to change the model/SKU numbers... A bit shady.

If you don't need it urgently, wait for a deal on a TLC gen4 drive (PS5 users), or PC users may as well go for a TLC gen3 drive as they frequently pop up for this sort of price or a tiny bit more and the difference in sequential speeds isn't exactly important for the majority of users.

If you do need it now, QLC isn't a huge deal for the most part as even with its lower endurance numbers it's likely to outlast the console/PC it's installed in. I've just had bad experiences with QLC drives so I just don't like them, lol. (edited)

Does this come with PS5 heatsink

This isn't fast enough for a PS5 and it doesn't come with a heatsink

Could you add the read-write speeds to the titles of these SSD deals, or at the start of the description, so people can see the info without having to click into the deal? It'd save a little bit of time.

This will ABSOLUTELY NOT WORK ON PS5. These read writes are barely gen3 nvme speeds and half of the gen4 required read write speeds for ps5.

As games get pushed further towards the recommended read speeds of 5,500mb read speeds for ps5 games, any falling below this will likely become useless.

The game streams directly from the drive, into ram and decompresses on the fly and requires the speeds sony have stipulated. The nvme ssd is a key feature of the console. (edited)

Doesn't matter. If it's PCI-e gen4x4 it'll work no matter the speeds. Don't spread misinfo.
