I've got 10 of these racks in use.
They are horrible to put together. Loads of tiny nuts/bots, flimsy metal trays that are all over the place as you try to put it together. Once together though, they're pretty strong.

I've had no issues with the single self standing units for my motorcycle helmets and gear. Nor for storage of basic garden equipment.

All the units I've purchased have come with additional nuts and bolts that seem to be left over as spares. However, if you have more than one unit, you can easily use the spare nuts and bolts to lock them together, and this is what we've gone.

They easy carry the weight of tins of paint filling the shelves, cardboard boxes of random stuff.

Its just putting them together will drive you insane. I used an electric drill with the nuts to tighten them, and even with that I give my hand cramp after the first couple, it kept putting off building the rest for weeks because of it. They're good value for what they are but I honestly don't envy any of you who buy them and are putting them together lol.

700mm width is exactly what I’m after if I choose to replace the garbage ones I bought from a German supermarket last year due to all the shelves warping.

Anyone have any experience of these of should I just pick up some ply for the current ones?

Heat for the price regardless OP

They’re a pain to put together. Thin metal and flimsy so need to be secured to a wall. I bought three sets to make two of decent height. They’ve been good and solid in my garage. An electric drill to help connect the countless nuts and bolts is a must!

Note only 300mm depth so could be a bit shallow but otherwise nice find (edited)

Stay away from this wobbly garbage...cold!

I've got a set of these in my shed. And they were wobbly to begin with. Then I put them together properly and now they aren't. Yes it takes a bit of time, but the answer is the screw the screws from one side, and a spanner to hold the nuts from the other side, and once everything is tightened up properly they are fine. Had mine for around 3 years and still as good and solid as when I bought them. I'm sure I only paid £12 though. These have become so much more expensive lately, especially if bought singly. (edited)

Awful, stay away. Sharp edges on them when putting together (wear gloves) hardly have any strength in them so they are wobbly.

The halford ones are good and even better when on offer !

Got 4 of this in my garage. Screwed it to the wall so it doesn't wobble. It is been standing for almost 3 years now with all the paint tins and tool boxes (edited)

Are the actual shelves on these metal as well?
    BraddersJ's avatar
Yup. Quite strong though but won't take 50kg+ (don't sit on them to test them like I did).

Can always add a plank of wood/MDF on top to add rigidity

They're rather flimsy and wobbly, so I only used them for storing empty boxes in garage and don't constantly load or unload, for which purpose they serve rather well hence I've got 3

To echo comments above they are fine if they are screwed into the wall. If not they are horribly flimsy.

I've replaced these (which collapsed due to be moved and then used without being screwed in with the halfords shelving, which is a step up both in strength and cost. So far so good.

Another one for Costco shelves. If you have a membership the shelves they sell at a similar price point are a completely different different calibre in build quality and longevity. You won't look back.

I have just built a Keter shed and am looking for some shelves which will handle the environment, are strong enough to hold “shed stuff”,  but no so heavy that they will crush the floor.

was planning on getting the Ikea Hyllis shelves but these would been more convenient. But after reading the reviews, i am going to give them a miss. Most other shelves have MDF tops which will warp, so i am not sure what to go for.

    anyone got any recommendations?
    mark9915's avatar
Why do you think the MDF ones will warp? Don’t get me wrong my Aldi ones from last year are fubared but the ones I got from Screwfix have been in the shed for about 4.5 years now and are fine. I did treat with MDF sealer mind.

Over the years I bought these cheap storage shelves from everywhere. They are not worth for longer run. I started buying Costco shelves for £39 each at stores and they are rock solid and can fit elephant in it!

Do you have the Costco link?

Have bought these types of units in the past and they never really last. Bought two of these and this will last a long time, well built
Yes it's pricey but starting to learn buy cheap buy twice homebase.co.uk/rac…tml
    Ferdy's avatar
Twice? You can buy 10 of these for the price of that!
  14. James_Whitchurch's avatar
I bought these. Drove me absolutely nuts( pun intended) As you do the bolts up the nuts spin, so small spanner/tool needed.
Cordless screwdriver a must. They hold a fair weight. But do need to be secured to something.

Now I am in 2 minds - I was due to collect these later today/ For the same price there is less apce but the total load is 700kg, and possibly easier to setup and install.
    5lugger's avatar
Well done finding them! My local was supposed to have 28 in stock, even staff couldn't find them!!
  16. fowler909's avatar
Anyone know how these compare to IKEA Hyllis shelves?
  17. PotentWeasel's avatar
Got these a while back, bit of a pain to put together but fine for the shed. I screwed them to the wood panels just to be safe!

Don't expect amazing quality, the shelves are just sheets of aluminium with bent ends and holes in
  18. DrDoolittle's avatar
Avoid these - they are at the very limit of "fit for purpose" plus you will be cut putting these together gloves or no.
