Never quite understand why they thought the world needed slightly bigger capsules that cost more than two individual capsules combined (typically), especially on a product that is now generic and out of patent. That said, if the machine is well made and makes good coffee, even for using the single caps this might be a deal.

The machine works well with a range of compatible pods. I certainly wouldn't buy the larger pods, as you say, they are not cost effective. I have found the L'Or or Cafe Pods ones to be the pods I like best but they can be expensive so usually wait until Amazon has an offer and buy in bulk.

Bought this when it was on offer previously. Really good machine, only downside would be the quite small water reservoir. IMO best pods for it are Cafepod-tad expensive but stock up when on offer.

We bought one of these recently which came with 100 mixed L'or pods. Our bean to cup machine became a pain as it was leaking water everywhere so we switched to this as it is much smaller but I have found that all the L'or pods i have tried have just been poor and tasted stale and a bit bitter. I need to explore the world of nesresso pods to find something i like but so far the Aldi's own specially selected Columbian have been the best at £1.99 for 10. You do also need 2 of the little pods for a decent coffee so what i have done is re-filled the large double shot L'or pods with my own ground beans (again Aldi's house blend beans at about £1.99 a pack) and because they are freshly ground to a fine powder these taste so much better than any shop bought pods i have tried. I just re-seal with tin foil over the top of the pod.

I like the ALDI coffee too but how do you seal the pod with tin foil?
