Sonos Beam (Gen 2) Compact Smart Soundbar with Dolby Atmos & Voice Control, White @ £399.00

Save £76 (price includes saving)

2 year guarantee included

-----------------------------------------

Enrich your entertainment experience with Sonos' compact smart soundbar featuring Dolby Atmos, Beam (Gen 2). Enjoy panoramic sound for shows, films, and games when the TV is on, and stream music, radio, and more when it's off. Control is easy with the Sonos app, your remote, your voice, and Apple AirPlay 2. It features a faster processor, enabling support for Dolby Atmos and creating two new audio paths for a virtual sound experience. Updated with a precisely perforated grille, it looks just as good as it sounds and blends seamlessly into the home.

Exceptional sound all around, with Dolby Atmos
Five powerful speakers fill your space from wall to wall with crisp highs, vibrant bass, and impressive depth. Dolby Atmos maps sounds in space for a 3D effect so you experience planes as if they're flying overhead, hear footsteps moving across the room, and feel the score all around you (this requires a TV that supports Dolby Atmos and Atmos-encoded content).

Crystal clear dialogue & Trueplay sound
Oscar-winning sound engineers helped fine-tune the soundbar to make sure you hear every word clearly and follow the story. For even greater clarity when characters whisper, or the action intensifies, you can turn on Speech Enhancement in the Sonos app.

High quality, even at low volumes
Advanced audio processing ensures balanced sound from wall to wall at any volume level. When you want to watch TV but need to keep it down, you can turn on Night Sound in the app to reduce the intensity of loud effects and enhance quieter ones.

Made for music
Stream music, radio, audiobooks and podcasts from all your favourite services with detailed stereo sound that fills the room.

Easy setup
Get from box to amazing sound in minutes with only two cables and step-by-step guidance from the Sonos app.

Trueplay sound
Trueplay tuning technology adapts the sound for the unique acoustics of the room so your content always sounds as good as possible in the environment (this requires an iOS device).

Freedom of control
With the Sonos app you can connect all your streaming devices, discover new music on Sonos Radio, and personalise settings. You can use your TV remote for control too, the soundbar syncs to your existing remote. You can also pause music, adjust volume, skip tracks and more with simple tap and swipe touch control on top of the soundbar. And with Apple Airplay 2, you can send sound directly from iOS devices, and ask Siri to turn it up.

Voice control with the Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa
The Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa are built in so you can play music, check news, set alarms, get your questions answered, and more, completely hands free.

Build your own system
Easily connect Sonos speakers in different rooms over Wi-Fi to create a home sound system that plays music in any or every room. Or get an even more immersive experience with Sonos subwoofer and rear speakers.

TV, films, computer games and more
Upgrade the sound while streaming, watching TV, or trying out the latest computer games. You can easily access many music subscription services including Spotify and Deezer.

I’d recommend spatialonline thru eBay. With the 15% eBay discount you can get a new one for about £360 ish.

Paid £399 for this soundbar in 2021. Not sure how this is a deal?

A quick glance shows it at £425 and upwards in most places so not sure why it wouldn't be a deal. It ain't 2021 no more.

Spatial Online ebay store currently has 15% off, so works out at £381ish.

    ebay

Their website advises 3 year warranty, so the ebay purchase may well be the same. Otherwise 2 year direct from sonos.

I'm really confused by the Dolby Atmos on this, if the speakers inside are pretty much the same directional positions as the beam 1 and there's no upward firing speakers... How does it simulate Dolby Atmos by itself? Is it just a con? I'm really tempted to get it for the bedroom as I love the beam 1 I have, but the beam 1 refurbs are much cheaper. Is this actually that much better or to create a surround sound experience would u need the rear speakers anyways? Hmmm

it uses some clever processing to simulate some of the height channels , it’s not as good as having the upward firing speakers like on the arc but does sound better than the beam 1 , speech is better on the beam 2 and the bass is better.

i replaced a beam 1 with a beam 2 but the atmos effect wasn’t as pronounced as i thought it would be , the other benefits are worth it if you are keeping the beam 1 for another room , or sell on , i had two that went for around £230 on ebay.

i ran the beam 2 with a sub and 2x ones as rears and it was pretty impressive.

Have now moved the beam 2 to another room and use on its own and replaced for main use with an arc , sub and two era300s as rears - that sounds amazing for tv/ film , not so impressed for music though , spatial music is a bit hit n miss

I've got one of these, really good sound, I'm very impressed.
I also bought a matching mini sub but I didn't really need it, the sound was already good enough on reflection.
