This would work in a PS5 despite being below the RECOMMENDED (not required/minimum) speeds. You should buy a heatsink if you want to use this in a PS5.

Kingston’s NV2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD is a substantial next-gen storage solution powered by a Gen 4x4 NVMe controller. NV2 delivers read/write speeds up to 3,500/2,800MB/s¹ with lower power requirements and lower heat to help optimize your system’s performance and deliver value without sacrifice. The compact single-sided M.2 2280 (22x80mm) design expands storage up to 2TB² while saving space for other components, making NV2 ideal for thinner notebooks, small form factor (SFF) systems, and DIY motherboards.

Available in capacities from 250GB – 2TB² to give you all the space you need for applications, documents, photos, videos, and more.

  • Gen 4x4 NVMe PCIe performance
  • Ideal for Laptops & Small Form Factor PCs
  • Capacities up to 2TB²

So cheap... Endurance is still a slight concern on these, but so cheap...

People get hung up in endurance, but just as drives don’t grenade at 3 or 5 years old when the warranty expires, they don’t - usually - grenade at xxxTBW and tend to go significantly further, it’s just the number that the OEM will replace it upto. That said QLC for example is potentially more problematic than TLC/MLC/SLC in both endurance and speed terms, but your average home user shoving the steam library on one likely won’t ever notice that.

*edit* Just checked the spec, 640TBW on 2TB which is just over 0.3 DWPD, writing 600GB/day for 5 years on a consumer drive seems significantly higher than most will need, oh and it’s the same as Samsung on the recent 8/9 series generations. (edited)

Really tempted by this as a 2nd drive for my PC. So cheap compared to a couple of months ago

Me too but just ordered sn850x on Amazon for my final AM4 build. That 2nd M2 slot will just have to remain empty for a while. Great deal but they're only going to get cheaper. (edited)
