Cooking Guidelines

Hob - From Ambient:

For the perfect rice
  • (1) To make perfect rice start with a ratio of 1 cup rinsed rice 4 cups of water.
  • (2) Bring the water to the boil and add the rice.
  • (3) Stir and bring back to the boil, keeping uncovered. Reduce to a rolling simmer for approx. 8-10 minutes or until rice is tender.
  • (4) Drain water, cover & leave to stand for 3 minutes.
  • (5) Lightly fork through the grains and serve.

Cooking appliances vary and these instructions are given as a guide. Please ensure that the rice is piping hot throughout before serving. Do not reheat.

Storage
Store in a cool dry place. Once opened, keep tightly closed and consume within the Best Before End date. For Best Before End date: See bottom of pack.

    What is difference in Gold and normal comes in Green bags.

    Green package is your everyday rice! Its not good for Biryani or other dishes! Gold and the one that comes in black packaging is good for Biryanis and other dishes! (edited)

    Sorry to say it’s not that good any more. Last time I bought 6 bags they are not that long basmati any more. That’s why they are in offer.

    Very true I fully agree, the rice inside used to be fragrant and brown and long, now it just looks like the standard one in the green bags just packaged in these gold bags

    Goes well with sistema microwave rice cooker. Easiest way I have found to cook rice. 1 cup rice 2 cups water and 13 mins in microwave.
