People are going to say how 27 inch 1080p is bad blah blah blah but I got this in the last deal and its perfectly fine, cannot complain for the price with everything you get!

Got the 240Hz version of this a few months ago and it's great

Pixel density is not a problem and I sit pretty close to it

    I went from 2 x 27" 1080p to 2 x 27" 1440p, I know the pleasure of using higher res monitors.
I also know plenty of people are perfectly happy with 27" 1080p monitors, and to be honest it wouldn't bother me that much.

My parents have a 32" 1080p monitor, even that isn't as annoying as I thought it would be. (edited)

27 inches at 1080 is only dreadful if ur used to something better and cant adjust.
    - Fact of life, easy to upgrade then to go back down for some.

in fight: good monitor, good brand, High hz.

and cracking price for a budget user.

Good find (good supported product ha) op (edited)

For those who are gaming not that good… maybe for the price slightly enticing but NO HDR.. and limited compatibility for xbox and PS5

I usually go to that site to check out TV and monitor reviews and calibrations
Used it for my Samsung 28" 4K monitor, and Sony 4K TV, and it helped with the display on both.

I'm not buying as a gamer but for daily PC use and movies... could anyone that owns one or is fairly knowledgeable when it comes to monitors comment if it will be OK for those purposes please? Just looks a very nice monitor for the price and I've usually always had Dell kit in the past and have been pretty pleased with them so far! I saw this back in March after it was posted on here but dithered and either the offer expired or they ran out of stock... and it was £148.92 back then! Also reached 1165° so I suspect this will get a little hotter tomorrow!

    Thanks

It will be perfectly fine. Mine is basically used for that now, watching streams, movies, browsing HUKD, since I upgraded the main monitor to 1440p. its got great build quality and the adjustable stand is great if you wish to use it.

    would recommend!

I have a Lenovo laptop. I use the HDMI port to connect to my 55" Sony 4k TV. Could I also use the spare USB-C port on the laptop to connect to this monitor through Display Port for a second screen. Need it as I trade Index Futures, Bitcoin and read Twitters news feeds on the Stock Markets. Laptop screen too small, 13".

Sadly it won't output on both. Believe me, I tried.
What you can do is buy one of those hubs/docking stations which you connect via USB c and they can split the signal to 2/3 monitors. The monitor in this deal doesn't have usb c so it's either hdmi or displayport
50037293_1.jpg The only downside to this is once the signal is split you're limited to only 60hz. I've tried this for work/productivity but found that I'd rather stick to high refresh monitor + laptop screen. If you're OK with 60hz it will work fine. (edited)

As far as I see that, Samsung is only AMD Freesync compatible and 144Hz vs 165Hz and G-sync.

Most people don't have suitable GPUs to max out 1440p/144hz without compromising graphical fidelity somewhere.

I tried hard to justify a 1440/165 and it was just really hard to drive. 1080p is still decent imo.

Unpopular gaming resolution, and just look at the bargain price for IPS and 165Hz. This should prove to everyone how PC gamers are ripped off by manufacturers when they think they have you over a barrel.

Of course, AMD and Nvidia had hoped by now every ambitious gamer would be at 4K, but gamers were far too smart to make that mistake- which has blown up the pricing of everything associated with good 1440p gaming- monitors, mid-range GPUs etc.

Look at the price and specs of this monitor, and tell me again why any VA monitors are made that target gamers?

I think if you're good 24@1080p, 27@1080p be fine. It's not that different. Sit back 5cm, and it's the same, as it's the same real estate. People are commenting as if it was black+white Vs colour. It's not.

If you're not liking 24@1080p, your not gonna like 27@1080p much the same.

This is not true it IS that different. Simple angular resolution and PPI clculations say otherwise.

27" 1080p is absolutely fine, same as 27in 720p and 27in 480p, it's just when you go from 27" 1440p down to 1080 ect it's like looking at squares everywhere, I used to have a 1080p 27in 240hz predator now I have a 32in 1440p 180hz ultragear and I now can't stand looking at my old monitor but when I was using it back then it looked fine but this is a really good bargain for someone looking at a cheap monitor (edited)

Can't agree at all, I play at 1440p in the day and 1080p while streaming, I absolutely don't notice the pixels at 32 inch so noones going to at 27

To all the "people hating 1080p on 27" are complaining" crowd.

GAMING on 1080p isnt the problem, its that as a desktop, 1080p on 27 is god awful when you are used to higher res
    The.Fat.Cat's avatar
    The.Fat.Cat
I go from using my 27" 1440p screens to using my parents 32" 1080p screen, and it's not so drastic as to make it unusable.

And like you said, people that are used to 1440p might not like it, those still using 1080p (which is still a LOT of prople) will not care much.

I have a 24 inch dell 1080p 60 hz and sit about 2 feet away and it’s fine tbh. It’s fine for gaming, I think the major benefit will be 144 hz as it will be a lot smoother. Plus most mid range GPU will be able to take advantage where if it’s 2k or 4k will struggle. (edited)

Set mine up today, it’s a good quality monitor without blurring. However I can see why 1440p would be good at this size.
but for a budget gaming monitor it’s fine

Just made the jump from 27inch 1080p to 27inch 1440p... the upgrade is incredible....

    BUT

...watching 1080p videos on 1440p sucks- they are worse quality that on a native 1080p display... my solution - one 1080p monitor, one 1440p monitor...

    Walk the line

Just change the resolution when watching movies, should also really be changing the refresh rate to 24 or specifically 23.97 the same refresh rate of the movies you're watching, most don't bother, but you will notice the difference if you do, you can use something like HRC monitor control to setup profiles

In theory you could but would need separate speakers.
Also you wouldn’t have a remote so could be annoying at night.
