Just for info there's negligible difference between the 45W charger and the 25w charger the time difference is pretty miniscule for a full charge from 0% to 100%

The purchase price is the main difference here so if you already have a 25w you will not notice any difference in charging speeds when buying a 45w charger

That said I would however if you are going to buy a 45w Samsung charger get a genuine one like this direct from Samsung as there are a lot of fake 45w clones out there even on Amazon some for under £15 😯 (edited)

Negligible difference when charging what device?
You'll see a difference when your receiver can accept 45W charging, and even more obvious if it needs 45W rating to do anything (like many laptops).

Take 45W with good quality cable at this price any day. You may not benefit now, but it will be futureproof

My Galaxy Tab S8 ultra charges significantly faster on the 45w than the 25w I have and my S23 Ultra noticeably quicker. 0-100% may not be extremely noticeable but that's because it slows the charge as you near 100%. You mainly see the speed difference in the in-between percentages. I'd say money well spent if you have capable devices

Can you use any 45w charger for similar performance on ultra ? I just use my laptop charger

Why so expensive I've bought direct from Samsung for around £12. Unreal quick charge.
    boris14's avatar
    Ah I've got 1 x 45w and the other one is 25 w. 25 w is still fast for 10 beans.

For anyone ordering this and intend to reuse an existing usb cable that you may have bought to use as a longer one, it may not be compatible and will only give you 25W charging, e.g the cable that came with my S20FE only charged my Tab S7 at 25W if I remember correctly.

This is what I bought which supports 45W charging and charges my Tab S7 at its supported 45Ws, my understanding is the cable needs to have a PD fast charge chip built in.

This comes with a 5a cable so no need to buy anything extra

For reference, this takes about 37 minutes to get my S23 Ultra 512GB from 5% to 85%. No idea the 25W equivalent time.

    Same time witch s22 ultra

Isn't fast-charging bad for a battery's long term health due to the heat generated?
    Marcel's avatar
On samsung phones, you can limit the maximum charge to 85% to minimise battery wear as most wear happens in the last 15% (edited)

Definitely never buy off an amazon 3rd party seller if you can always buy off the samsung site if you want a genuine product. Got a fake 25w off amazon and they refunded me and told me to keep the charger or bin it. Put it straight in the bin
    katch's avatar
how can you tell if it's fake?

Get the Toocki 67W GaN Charger. Also supports pps superfast and superfast 2.0 Samsung charging. 2 x USB C and 1 × USB A. I got one a few months ago for around £8. Was on offer link around £12 hotukdeals last week.

I will think twice before buying this charger. Mine failed after 8 months, and samsung said there is only a 40-day warranty and refused to replace it.
    deanoh11's avatar
Samsung chargers have a 12 month warranty in the UK. I bought the 35w dual and it stopped working after 2 months. Threw the warranty at them and they gave me store credit back

Search Samsung charger warranty in Google.

Thought I'd post an update as alot of people are posting absolute rubbish on here claiming this makes little to no difference.

I ordered several of these after seeing this thread and have just done some testing.

My 512GB S23 Ultra went from taking around 1 hour 55 mins to fully charge from flat (phone switched on, using a fast charger - also says "fast charging" on the screen / green charging circle if switched off) to ONLY 1 hour with this charger (phone switched on, says "superfast charging 2.0" / blue charging circle when phone is switched off). It makes an absolutely MASSIVE difference literally taking HALF the time(!)!! Wish I'd purchased this sooner!! (edited)

You're not wrong I agree 100%, it must be people trying to use this charger with an incompatible device that doesn't support 45w super fast charging 2.0 or maybe they have swapped out the USB cable for a longer one and they don't realise you can't just use any cable, it's not just a piece of wire there is a PD charging chip in the correct cable.

This is ridiculously expensive for what used to be included in the box

What used to be included in the box?

Is the basic tab s8 compatible with the 45w charger?
    Peacestation's avatar
Yes. 45W wired, 100% in 80 min (advertised)

I have this and the 25w and I got to say I prefer to slow charge to prolong my battery life yeah ok it takes way longer I fast charge when I have to though
  18. Jon_Baker's avatar
Reviews look awful on their website. Chargers keep breaking and Samsung refuse to accept a return.

Would a charger by Anker be better? amazon.co.uk/Cha…8-3
    Robdataff's avatar
I would say that almost nothing on Samsungs site has a positive review. Never heard anyone on here complaining, except for bodgy fakes from fleabay though. Plenty of negative reviews for anker stuff on amazon anyway.

Probably a better investment to get one of the 65w PD chargers that get posted on here for around the same amount. It will charge the phone and many other devices like laptops fast too unlike this.
    zer0nis's avatar
95% of those type of chargers don't do SFC2.0.

I've had this charger for about a year and love it as a compact slim travel charger mainly for my laptop. Think I paid similar price but it didn't have the cable (think for the wattage and length the cable was around £8+ extra for a known brand). The charger can get quite hot though, which is probably normal for the size and power. Am tempted to buy this as a spare as I don't think there's much choice for chargers this slim and high wattage.

However if looking for a charger to keep at home or to only charge a phone, then I think there's better options.

Anyone have car charger reccomendations for s23 ultra?

Get the official 45w charger. I have it and it supports super fast charging 2.0
