Could I bury this in my raised bed in soil so it's hidden. I need a supply for the LED outside lights I've fitted in the rail road wood sleepers that I've made the raised beds from? (edited)

    No.

(Well of course you could, but you shouldn't). (edited)

Isn't it better just to go for the ones with built-in RCDs?
    Joshimitsu91's avatar
They cost considerably more and from my research it doesn't seem necessary if you have RCD at the consumer unit. In fact, many who doubled up reported that the main RCD would trip before the built in one did anyway.

I have one of these, it gets condesation inside and the water drips out when you open it so not 100% sealed

have you tried opening 1 of the drip holes at the bottom

Thanks - Screwfix do some great deals. I need a single version of this, will click the link to look. Heat 🔥

Bought one of these 4 or 5 years ago, still good and water tight and no condensation. It really helps giving the cover a push inwards when opening and closing the clips especially in the colder weather when the rubber seal is firmer. The clips could break if forced too much.

Fitting them at Knee height is good for this very reason !

I find closing the clips on this is near impossible.

Push the lid inwards when opening and closing the clips, it helps make it a bit easier.

Consider the size of any plugs that you might use with the cover closed …

If your not bothered about the "Neon Power Indicator" then CPC do a similar one for £5.87.

Plus the 4.99 handling charge so nearly £12 if you’re buying just one

These are the old model which Screwfix are dumping their stock on. The new version is far superior, check BG website.

I purchased this and received the newer model when i picked up in screwfix, even though their wrbsite images show the older model

Are there any of these that are powered via a 3 pin socket instead of needing to be wired? I have an outdoor plug on the wrong side of my house and would essentially like another which is powered via an extension lead from the current one. (It’s so I don’t have to pay an electrician to install it.)

Something like this would do, depending on how long you need the lead. You could just get some 13amp flex and a plug, then use any of them
