Are the replacement heads easy to get hold of for a reasonable price as Remington didn't seem to sell them anymore? (edited)

Just buy a decent pair of clippers. Wahl balding are the best for the closest shave

How do these compare to say Wilkinson hydro 5 razors? Or razors in general? Do they cut the same amount?
    HammerTime10's avatar
it's just less faff and. Saves so much time. i did mine this morning literally under a minute and i'm done. Hairs stay within the unit so can do it fully clothed

    What about bald women?
    angleseyman's avatar
If you are bald then you wont need one of these as you will have no hair to shave

Was looking at the RX7 or the pitbull. Price isn't an issue for me if the pitbull has a closer shave.

Have you had to replace the pitbull heads yet and if so how much did they cost? (edited)

Since I started clean shaving I've never went back to electric. Used to get the odd cut but since switching to Lidls Cien twinblade disposable razors never had a single cut and it's super smooth every time.

Tried using 1 blade for 2 shaves but it's inconsistent results so now just use once and throw in recycle bin. Use your favourite shaving cream or might be able to use with none, who knows!

    £1.25 for 10 = 12.5p each

If shaving every day = £3.75/month
    Every 2nd day = £1.87/month

Highly recommend picking up a pack to try, if they put toiletries on discount in the app I'm gonna stock up!

Any advice on something that leaves a tiny bit of stubble, I’ve used this and it’s very close to a clean shave and unless you use it at least every 2 days becomes difficult to cut
    konkywonky's avatar
WAHL Balding clippers, they cut to 0.4mm.

Is this any good on pubs?

    Ask your local landlord.

I have the rx7 really impressed with it

    Nice car that.

I use this every 2-3 days. Takes me like 1 minute to shave my head! it's great! Although no replacement blades as others said. i just take it back to Argos after 6-8 months say it's faulty, and they give me a replacement

I've had SMP done so it works perfect with this. (edited)

Replacement blades are available from Remington direct, via phone. They need to add them to their website.

It looks like something from the Matrix, very scary.

I recently bought one of these:

    groomhere.co.uk/products/trimmer?variant=40212944519220

If you sign up you'll get 10% on top as well so works out at £53.99 with free delivery. It has 7 blades instead of 5 and also switches to a nose trimmer and clipper. So far I've only used the 7 blades but it's excellent. Shaves super close and doesn't irritate the skin at all.

I had been using normal clippers on my hair for years, wish I'd taken the plunge ages ago! (edited)

That looks great, i just use clippers, but thinking of getting this, thx for post and link, do you use it on a dry head ?

What is the difference between the RX5 and RX7?
    custardy's avatar
    differnet numbers

I have both. RX7 is a slimmer body, usb cable (but not usb port on the shaver itself) and a 'turbo' button mode for faster speed
I got the RX7 new on Ebay for around £50 with a discount code. Both work fine.
Prefer the slimmer fit on the RX7

I used to use Veet sensitive but found a better one from Nutcare nutcare.co.uk/pro…uts

I have a cheapish Chinese one of Amazon that has done the job for maybe 3 years. Will this one actually be any better?
    leekickass's avatar
had both the Remington cut closer but as above the heads are hard to get hold of for the money abd the difficulty of getting the blades i would just buy a cheap one next time
  17. robbp's avatar
i bought one of these cheaper version and the heads become blunt very quickly. I then went with the andis model as it was highly recommended but still only lasts a few months, use it every night. is the typical wear from a shaver as i will just buy spare heads if its that bad
  18. maccalen's avatar
Surely a Bic razor would achieve the same outcome?
    Subsh's avatar
    Not same thing

How are people dealing with the cut hair going everywhere?
When I use my cordless clippers I lay newspaper sheets so the bathroom floor doesn't get covered with hair
    DomDealyo's avatar
The hair majority will get caught in the heads, you open it up and run it under a tap or, my preferred option, blast it with the shower head to clean.
  21. HammerTime10's avatar
and i can do it in the shower. it is waterproof
  22. jsd74's avatar
So do me melon with my Remington quick cut clipper then this is for final snooker ball polish?? Forget it......just keep some stubble.....if u use this every few days for upkeep your melon will end up looking like Freddy Kruger's......
    Scrooge_McDuck's avatar
For the best cue ball polish, you need to bic razor your head, moisturise it then buff it up with a small hand towel..get it proper shiny baldilocks.

Ultimate Head..... in Under 2 Minutes! Did the Remington exec board not see that one when their marketing team and Ad Agency came in a pitched this one to them LOL!
    Pualle's avatar
    I wish I could last 2 minutes.
  24. SqueakyWalker's avatar
Is the 0.2mm fixed or variable if you want a bit of stubble?
  25. LOKKO's avatar
My rx7 has stopped working recently it spins without the head on but won't when I put it on, I've cleaned it oiled it up and still no luck any idea before I try find a new head for it
