Just received 2 of these and have configured as Raid 0 in Mac OS and as a 4tb drive currently getting an average of
1,660 MBps write and 1,070 MBps read that outperforms the out of box T7 4TB drive and comes in cheaper at £170 after Samsung cashback and although not taking full advantage of TB4 port, pound for pound performance per MBps much better!!! (edited)

Ordered the black drive a few days ago when it first said delivery 2 - 5 weeks. However, it has now been delivered to a locker today

Also, for those concerned about missing the cashback period ( @kerridge0 ), it's as long as you PURCHASE by the 4th July. You then still have 30 days to submit your claim, so if you're still on the fence about it, I'd place your order now - particularly while it's back at £129. (edited)

Thanks. That's interesting, I hadn't thought of that. Will bear in mind although it feels a bit risky. I had a birthday cut off date so had to buy it earlier

For some reason I'm having issues with this recognising the serial number, am I missing something
    Daves_mate's avatar
Dunno if it helps but I read somebody say to use the S/N on the drive rather than the box.

For those thinking of purchasing from Amazon EU, Samsung states 'Purchases from Amazon.co.uk must be sold and dispatched by Amazon UK directly, not Amazon EU or other non-UK branches.' - so no cashback.
  9. hairydan's avatar
Just had mine delivered and cashback authorized within a couple of minutes
  10. keval's avatar
    Thanks OP!

Ordered this on the 8th June - Delivered 10th June (cancelled and re-ordered as noticed dispatch duration had changed, the original order was showing almost 2 weeks for delivery turnaround).

Claimed Cash back today and approved within minutes. Dispatched by Amazon EU on the invoice copy.

**NOTE TO MENTION** - On the final page of the Cashback form, it offers an option to surrender £50 of the cashback in exchange for Samsung SmartTags (apprantly worth £89) - i declined this and claimed the £50 (edited)
    AJ1990's avatar
If I'm not wrong, they ask you to pay the remaining 39 pounds.

Had mine delivered today, had my cash back approved straight away and have just had Amazon CS refund the difference from the 134.99 I paid - Cheers!
    PhoneManiacuk's avatar
    The difference ?

Price has dropped back to £129.63.
Went to place an order just but noticed something on checkout. Even though on the item listing it says sold and dispatched by Amazon, as you purchase this then changes to show it's sold and dispatched by Amazon EU S.a.r.L. If this is correct then it won't qualify for cashback!
My nephew placed an order last night, his invoice also shows 'Sold by: Amazon EU S.a.r.L.'

This is normal. After purchase, if you bought from 'sold and dispatched by Amazon UK' then invoice will show Amazon UK branch, and give a UK contact address. This is what Samsung will ask for. I did a claim recently and mistakenly sent the order summary instead of invoice and samsung have come back to me to say evidence is missing and I need to upload the invoice document.

My claim got delayed first time because the file was missing even though it was showing uploaded. Second time delayed because they said the serial photo was blury but I could ready it.
So I've got to wait another five days. Anyone else getting this?
    The_narrow_path's avatar
    Yes, me.
  16. modmouse's avatar
How do I push Samsung to take action? I sent the photos back six days ago and nothing has happened with the third attempt at sending the pics. I contact them online but get an auto response stating the same five working days which was up yesturday.

why do none of these things come with recessed ports. No good having it survive a fall if it lands on the connector and damages the plug. Same with these charging banks (excluding some of the ones with captive cables, natch) even worse in fact , since people are likely to be carryign the charging banks about more so than a ssd. (which is solid sate and doesn't really need the same kind of worry as per old mech hdds)
    JagerNinja's avatar
These do seem to have a slightly more recessed USB connector vs the non shield version.

Apparently the connection can be a bit more temperamental because the male USB isn't any longer
