    Just to help folks new to Final Fantasy, you absolutely don't need to play any previous FF games to play FFXVI. It's a stand-alone story, not a sequel - they just number these games in the same franchise because sometimes the same bosses, themes, worlds etc. crop up (for example, the Ifrit and Shiva eikons in this game are bosses in several previous FF games). So you 100% don't need that background info to enjoy XVI. I'd thoroughly recommend the demo - it's a lot of fun!

    You can jump straight into to 16. Nearly all final fantasies are all separate stories, don't need to play the ones before.

    After playing the demo I can only say I'm simply blown away, constant chills throughout and I was absolutely pulled into the world. It's a lot more mature than I expected from a Final Fantasy game and it's awesome.

    Combat is absolutely on point it feels GREAT, from the very start you get a respectable arsenal of abilities that some games wouldn't even give you till much later in the game.

    Music is incredible, the score in this is superb.

    I CANNOT wait.

    Each numbered Final Fantasy is a new game, unconnected with the others. Only the direct sequels, FF X and FF X-2 and I think FF XIII has FFXIII-2 and -3, are continuations of the previous game.

    Finished up both chapters of the demo yesterday, just unbelievably good. Combat w/stagger system very similar to FF7R and FFXIII as expected which is perfect for me as I love those 2 games. Used a number of different tactics against both the trash mobs and Benedikta which I’ll be remembering for the full game. Not long til preload now. (edited)

    I'm not a massive fan of role playing games, Last ones i enjoyed were the original assassins creed and god of war titles.....

    But the demo for this is incredible.

    Once upon a time I'd make my username out of a mashup of FF characters....

    Sad to say at this point I didn't even know a new FF was due out. I feel nothing.

    The other comments do give me a glimmer of hope, I'll probably wait and see if it comes out on PC in a year or two though rather than buying a console especially this time... (edited)
