Hi We are changing the way we send newsletters. It's going to take a couple of weeks before everything is up and running again as normal. During that time the current daily newsletter is paused. In the meantime, we are sending an iterable newsletter every day to an increasing number of members to "warm up". This is necessary to ensure the proper delivery of our emails. So, many apologies if you are not receiving the emails at present, we are working on it and you will start receiving it again. (edited)
Presume this is also the reason I'm no longer getting the daily newsletter from the the German sister-site, mydealz.de.
It would have been good if an email had been sent to all newsletter subscribers, warning them that this was going to happen or had happened, rather than simply leaving people wondering why the are no longer recieving the newsletters.
Hi guys, Both myself and my OH suddenly stopped receiving the hot deals daily email. We can't find anywhere on our profile to sign up again so I've no idea what to do. Can anyone help, thanks ?
We have changed our service for sending out the email. It used to be an in-house solution, now it is an external service, hence the slight differences.
tbf ive got all the settings in my account for daily emails but im not getting them for some reason, so hopefully its fixed soon
Hi, the team has identified the group of users who are still failing to receive the daily newsletter. It appears to be affecting some users who have subscribed more recently. We have been advised that it should be resolved soon.
Hey
We recently update the newsletter system and this included an updated design which allows a lot more flexibility of content and sending lists. We'll pass your feedback onto the team who manage it
Nathan
I'm just jumping in here because I have noticed that there are two options to subscribe to the daily newsletter on the subscriptions page.
Thanks for the update, I reported this before too so I've found that report and updated with your image / post to let the team know that it's still happening on both member profiles and staff profiles
I can't be the only person who thinks the most recently updated HUKD daily deals email template is a huge step backwards can I? I mean look at this:
Most deals show 3-and-a-half words before they get cut-off, how is "Free 6 months APPL..." a useful title (not to mention it's not remotely accessible as people relying on screen readers don't even get the benefit of the picture to help decipher what the deal might be).
Compare that to the old template:
What on earth drove the change and please can we go back to something nearer the old one?
thank you for your feedback, and I will share that with the newsletter team now
Me too, nothing for the last 4 days. I've gone into settings and I am subscribed, it even has the date that I first signed up for them.
Me three, although not the email which is connected to my account.
I signed up with a different email just when I was a lurker on site on this, shouldn't have to do anything with settings in my case.
Hi everyone, is it just me or is the font under the pictures on the daily emails very large to the point that it only shows about half the full title.
I have been subscribed to receive an email for Daily Deals. Htese have been coming for several years. Now they have ceased.
I re-subscribed in 19/5/23 but still nothing. Help!
I have not been getting a daily Hot Deals email from HotUKDeals since the 15th May.
Is anyone else getting the same or know why mine has stopped working?
I used to get a daily email showing the 10 hottest deals but now I don't get that. However today I received one deal alert email and on the 23rd I did get an email which which was the same as the regular emails received up to the 15th May.
Anyone know what is going on? I did like those emails because I didn't totally miss everything.
Hi we are still in the process of moving all of our members to our new daily email system, but if you are still having issues after a further 7/14 days please drop us an update here
I've got my emails settings quite strict and only allow addresses that I've added to my safe list through to my inbox, everything else goes to my Junk Folder which I check every so often.
I checked it earlier and seen this email which is apparently from HUKD even though the font and layout looks different to the usual style:
The email address is different to the usual one. This has "email" added in after the @ sign, the regular email address doesn't have this).
Anyone else had a similar email? Is this from HUKD and there's just been a little glitch in the system somewhere, causing it to come from a different address?
Yeah good luck getting that fixed. I am struggling to think of a single "improvement" that didn't actually make things worse.
I found a recent newsletter with 7 /12 deals about ps5. Why? Is that as simple as top scored of the day or handpicked ones?
Hey
There are various factors that the team use for the newsletter but ideally we wouldn't have a situation where so much of the newsletter is the same item/single type of content. It has been flagged by a couple of different teams and various members so we've passed on feedback to the team who manage the newsletter so it hopefully doesn't happen again
Nathan
Ok, thanks. That sounds like a manual process, yet I guess prepared by a PS5 fanboy
Previously the emails were clear and easy to read but since that was changed they are no longer user friendly
Please could someone look to improve the format
HI we will share your feedback with the newsletter team - unfortunately your image didn't merge into this main discussion but I'll add below
Hi,
I stopped receiving these emails, I have tried signing back up but they still not coming. I tried to different email addresses, anyone else had this problem?
afternoon Thanks for letting us know. I'll chase this up and hopefully you should start receiving them again tomorrow afternoon. Please drop me a PM if there are any issues and we'll get this resolved
I have an issue with these emails. It is about the text used which is far too big IMO. The titles give almost no information about what the deal is about and that is made even worse because the pictures do not always show on the emails. Many pictures do show but some of them don't work.
Why is the text so large? It doesn't give much information about the item and if the text was a more reasonable size more of the item title could be seen. I am fairly sure this isn't a problem with my email client Thunderbird because I don't have the same problem with any other emails.
Are you aware of this? (edited)
Hi, this is something we can share with the Newsletter team on your behalf as feedback from the Community
I feel like lately the newsletter has got loads of deals that I'd rather not see. Today's had 8 free ebooks and 3 ladies underwear. While I'm sure some people are into that stuff I'm really not and it would be nice if we could mute certain categories or perhaps the HUKD team can put a teeny bit more editorial effort into the newsletter?
Hi we have a central CRM newsletter team who are responsible for selecting and sharing the newsletter deals for all the Pepper communities. Unfortunately, this is not something hotukdeals or the UK Community team have any input into. But we will share your feedback with them
