Brilliant price I have this and sportier model (challenger) they have been used a lot on canals and rivers/lakes.

Brilliant quality never had a puncture, takes approximately 15-20 mins to fully inflate it, plenty of space in the front netting for a back pack and also space in the rear with the gear.

The supplied pump is a little flimsy and has come apart a couple of times but simple to fit back together.

Might be worth upgrading the pump, I already had a spare but still use the supplied one.

Highly recommend you get a life jacket whilst using and avoid using in the sea, the lightweight design of these even make it very very hard to control in a current and this time of the year always sees a lot of accidents with inflatables.

On the canal/lake these are an absolute dream to use, can't wait to use ours again very soon.

Another small detail is the oars being slightly on the short side meaning every stroke drips water onto your legs, this is obviously not a big deal during nice summer days.

A simple solution is fitting an old broom handle between the two parts to extend it but obviously that effects portability.

Brilliant piece of kit though, plenty of space too.

The Explorer has more of a Canoe feel to it, it's more stable and has more storage space under the front and back parts of the boat. (Compared to the Challenger)

I've used the boat for myself and my wife both about 5ft 8" and you do feel a little cramped but not totally uncomfortable.

As I have both boats we take both out (the two man versions) and simply just inflate and install one of the seats giving you plenty of room!

So with storage the Explorer you can store bags etc under the front and back of the boat where as the Challenger has a netted front and storage in the back too.

Both are fantastic boats, the main difference is that the Challenger feels like a sportier model in the fact it moves quicker in the water and is more agile but the compromise is that it's less stable in the water and has less storage.

The Explorer like I said feels bigger with the inclined front and back of the boat providing more storage options, sits higher off the water giving it more stability.

We prefer the explorer for lazy days on the canal/lake but both are brilliant and you won't be disappointed with either.

Some good YouTube reviews on both boats too, I spent a long time researching both but then ended up getting both as they were quite cheap at the time. (edited)

I have explorer. I'm on it right now. Highly recommend. I'm 6'6" and I can lay in it and chill. Bought it 3 years ago and never had any issues.

I've had both the green challenger and the yellow explorer. We much preferred the high sides of the explorer so in the end swapped the challenger out for another explorer. They've lasted about 8 years so far and all 3 are going good just a puncture needed repair and another split seems when We left it fully inflated out of the water all day on a very hot sunny day whilst camping.

This is a great piece of kit, we were on the Thames last week, Kingston to Hampton Court & also on the sea in Pevensey Bay. Only thing I don’t like is the back support…

Purchased a while back from an amazon.fr deal. Used it a few times on the Thames and lakes in the Cotswolds.
TBH I was half expecting to have to drag my 6'6" self out of the Thames the first time I used it but it took me and my 7yr old for a good few miles and I was amazed by how easy they are to use.
Easy to pump up and easy to potter around in.
It has been mentioned before that tbe paddles are a bit on the short side bit worse case is a few drips on the legs. Also back support isn't the best for tall people but I only have this on long outings with it (edited)
