GUL Kynance Kayak £259.98 delivered at Sports Direct

Was looking at this for a couple of days. Waiting to get paid. Just my luck it’s now out of stock. Any ideas where can get something similar for similar price? Can’t imagine spending double the amount for exactly the same bluewave one

They only ever seem to ever have 3 in stock

I see, are those more likely to flex then and presumably squash when you try and strap it down? No idea what mine is made from, Google failed on me. Lots of websites don't tell you. Still I would have thought this would be better than an inflatable and I see those on the (calmer) sea? That said I have little experience and welcome any extra info 😄

Oh gutted :(

Also Field & Trek!

But if they don’t know yet they don’t know yet. For all its faults generally Amazon are great at updating when they expect an order to arrive but they obviously need to source additional stock in this case first. That takes time and tbf it has only been a few days since you ordered. And as for the patience bit, I have an order o/s from Amazon that I’ve been awaiting for several months! They email me every so often to say they are still trying to source it so keep me updated. I can choose to cancel at any time, but can’t get it for cheaper so am happy to wait.

Unfortunately don’t have a button to dislike your comment …

I don't mind a month or two month wait for delivery . All I ask is something less vague than between now and 2022 . I ordered at a similar time to others . Before some of the folks that have a despatched conformation in fact . Surely Amazon Fr would have the decency to explain the issue and say when they're expecting a stock delivery to those of us who ordered at the "sale" price and before those that have been despatched already . Yet ordered afterwards. Also why say something is "in stock" "sold by Amazon" when clearly they weren't . As you said you ordered from Amazon Fr yet yours is coming from Amazon It . It's easy to show patience when you've already received a "shipped" status isn't it ? Fatbiker

Cmon guys... scheduled delivery dates were given when you ordered saying it could be up to December for shipping. If you don’t want to wait fair enough but it seems a bit harsh to blame Amazon when they were clear there may be a wait Mines been shipped, but was actually sent from Italy rather than France, which indicates they are sourcing stock from across Europe to fulfil orders. It’s due to arrive on Monday

Yeah, got a feeling this is going to get cancelled tbh, but we live in hope, tbf theres a couple other Kayaks out there for 149 that are 239 on Amazon get a decent review, Bestway Hydro being sold by campingworld.co.uk, think will be my bqck up plan.

H20-FLO 9ft (266cm) Sit-On 1 Person Kayak with Paddle - £249.99 delivered (Membership Required) at Costco

Seen this earlier in a Costco email, seems a very good price for a rigid kayak including shipping Features - Carry Handles for Easy Transportation - PE Padded Seat - High Density … Read more

Anyone received theirs yet, and tried it out?

Seems OK although max weight is 100kg and up to 60% of maximum weight is ideal so would really only suit people up to 60kg. Also, it looks quite similar to this one which is <£67 and has a higher weight capacity https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Reasonable-Factory-Price-Recreational-Adult-Kayak_1600270715953.html?spm=a2700.galleryofferlist.normal_offer.d_title.23699de07gmMgB&s=p

Seems a good price compared to others selling at £300+ Voted Hot Cheers

You can get plenty wet just from the paddle, but you need to ensure you're competent at extracting yourself from a spray deck when capsized. Your local canoe club will run swimming pool sessions for this.

If you’re only using it for lakes and canals, I wouldn’t bother as they are smooth enough to not need a spray deck.

Intex Explorer K2 Kayak, 2-Person Inflatable Kayak Set with Aluminum Oars and High Output Air Pump - £105.91 @ Amazon

Have to select more sellers to find it at this price, sold by Amazon, currently out of stock, delivery estimate 29-30 June.

Hope you get comfy! Though I suspect there are only two outcomes with cheap inflatable kayaks and both involve you no longer using them (unless you really have no other choice) 1. You just don't get on with them and call it off after a few goes 2. You love it so much you want to buy a hardshell At this point I'd upgrade to a hardshell in a heartbeat if I had enough space to store one under cover, so in the meantime, I'll stick with my cheap inflatable (y)

Thank you so much for the advice, will give everything you said a try :) I really don't want to give it up as I have enjoyed it alot.

In traditional, hardshell kayaks you are bracing your legs against footrests, driving through your abdominal and lateral muscles and pivoting your hips left and right with each stroke, terminating in your arms. In other words, it isn't just your arms doing the work as it might seem at first. The problem with these cheap kayaks (I own them and love them by the way) is that you don't have anywhere to properly brace your feet and legs, so your torso, hips and arms are doing much more unsupported work than in a hardshell. The first few times on the water in these and you will definitely feel that until your body gets used to it. Try and find a way to brace your legs against the sides or the seat in front of at all possible. I also have the bottom of my seat fully deflated and only the back inflated. After all, the kayak itself is a massive pillow of air. This keeps you lower in the boat and gives you more contact with it so you can better brace yourself. Make sure you turn your torso slightly toward the side of the kayak you are paddling on. Make sure to hold your paddles at the right place. If you hold the paddle in your hands and raise it level with the top of your head, your elbow should be bent at 90 degree angles. If not, your are holding your hands out too far to the end or too close to the middle. Someone else suggested lengthening your paddles because they really are just too short for these extra wide kayaks

Been out on it twice, good fun. But both times it has killed my hips of all places. Not sure if I'm doing it wrong, the seat is crap or something else. (I'm quite fit and would like to thing I'm not done yet). Anyone else experience this or have any recommendations?

Decathlon sell a 50N one for £16.99 but they are rare as hens teeth at the moment. Managed to get 2 small ones for the kids on Saturday from our local store but the larger adult sizes have been out of stock most of this year. There are ones one ebay readily available for around £13 but really not sure I want to put my trust in one of those! Might be ok paddling down the local canal when you can stand up on the bottom but if you are planning on going down a river or out to sea, I'd think you'd want something you could trust. https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/ba-50n-newtons-dtc-kayak-stand-up-paddle-or-dinghy-buoyancy-vest/_/R-p-307518?mc=8552970&c=ORANGE

No chance. Demand out strips supply.

Me too. Glad I kept the order open.

We have been going out on the Thames in the younger Brother K1. Great times, I've heard this version is also very good value

Last year when they were on offer on Amazon and loads of hotukdealers bought them I saw a fair few on Exeter canal (one of the very few free to use canals!). These other blokes were sat up a lot better than I was but I’ve not had chance to have another go and pump the seat up more maybe?!

Wait! These will be £85 on Prime Day.
