When they last did this, the TCB link to booking.com sent you to a specific in partnership with TCB page which upped the prices compared to the normal site. Worth comparing the difference before booking using this offer as it might be cheaper to go the normal site,
    blahblahblah1234's avatar
Also worth comparing prices on a mobile device vs PC.
Sometimes I get cheaper "mobile only price" using Chrome browser on my phone, compared to Chrome on my PC.

Can you use discount codes on top of this offer, will the bonus and cashback payout ?
    TopCashbackRep's avatar
We currently don't have any approved booking.com discount codes listed on our site and so the cashback (and therefore the bonus) will very likely be declined unfortunately. - Matt

Hate using TCB, others may find it different, it never tracks, the last one was with the £2 bonus, bought something from Screwfix but never tracked.

Use Quidco all the time and tracks at least 95% of the time.

Could be the web browser you use. I had exactly the same experience you did until I started using Safari on my Macbook to make purchases, all of a sudden everything tracks without fail! Could just be a case of browser extensions (like adblock) for example.

I love TCB, use it all the time but not a fan of using it for booking.com.

Open TCB, click through to booking.com find a cottage, pay, then days later get emails about payment failed update payment information. Do that multiple times. Then get another email.

"Unfortunately, we have a system error and we have not been able to take the payment for your booking. Our team are currently working to get this fixed.

Please do not update your payment details as we still won’t be able to process this.

Please give us a call by..."

So I ring the number and it's cottages.com wtf anyways lovely lady on the phone, I say what happened and she said this *always* happens with booking.com they don't actually take the payment?!

Now maybe hotels and things are different but from my own experience if I am going to book a cottage, I'm just going to use cottages.com 😁 too many middle men otherwise.

Will I ever get TCB if booking.com is none the wiser as to if I've paid or not (if I log in booking still says urgent action required). TCB still pending from 6 months back. Who knows tbh. Main thing was I got the confirmation emails from cottages.com in the end and our holiday was sorted. (edited)

I looked at my account and I've gotten TCB for booking.com hotel bookings 14 times successfully. And booking.com usually gives me the lowest price anyway (often it's that 20% "genius discount" that makes the difference), so I look there first (and I check with the property directly as they can sometimes beat 3rd parties).
Obviously it might go wrong like in your case, but I wouldn't say that's what usually happens...

    Do yourself a favour, don’t use booking.com

last time I used them (and vowed never to again) I arrived at a property that had closed for business the month before. They took my money 9 days before the holiday (property had been closed down for nearly 3 weeks).

Tried again recently and upon speaking with the property owner they wanted an extra £50 ‘admin charge’. Disputed with booking.com who I paid a total that explicitly stated ‘includes all tax and charges’ on the page and confirmation… booking.com say the charge stands as in their terms it says ‘bookings may be subject to an admin fee’ … despite the amount not being listed .

    Don't ever use booking.com.

Left me and my 7yr old stranded in Belgium having double booked our accommodation. If it wasn't for the fact we had a hire car we would of been royally f**ked.

Next nearest accommodation was of 30miles away and €900 more.

I will never ever ever book with them again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Reena7's avatar
That's the accommodation that double booked, not Booking.com

I’ve found booking directly with the Hilton to be cheaper but they declined my last booking. Might try booking.com if this one definitely goes through. (edited)

Always good to check the best price through trivago.co.uk.

    Work for car hire?

    Heya,

The only cashback rate we have with booking.com is Accommodation bookings and so as these are the only purchases that track, these will be the only purchases eligible for the cashback and the additional bonus offered for today

    -Matt
  9. nlman's avatar
Try and book directly with the accommodation- they are usually cheaper and you will be helping out the accommodation provider by them not having to pay commission to booking.com (usually 15%)
    Adam.Jackson's avatar
Just tried to book a hotel somewhere and it worked out more expensive booking direct! 👀 and that’s before any bonus’s or cashback!
  10. springsteensam2021's avatar
Hi I paid just over £50 an it has tracked at £48 with the £20 as pending. I really hope I get this bonus payout, as I believe I paid £51 ! Could youy advise. Many thanks as always to the top cashback team
    TopCashbackRep's avatar
Don't worry, we know this retailer doesn't track VAT and have provisions in place to ensure those affected by this don't lose out on the bonus

just rebooked and cancelled my hotel stay, tracked instantly and the % is higher then my last booking so double win thanks!
    blahblahblah1234's avatar
Almost did the same, then realised the booking I was about to cancel had a £20 Quidco bonus attached to it from last month.
  12. scrounger's avatar
To be frank, I much prefer the £5/£2 offer ...

Have grown to really love Booking.com - Once you get into the Genius levels you can get some really great discounts. Plus it is the ONLY main hotel site where you can filter Terraces/Balcony rooms properly. I always go for a balcony pretty much wherever I go, quite rare in the UK but plenty of choice in Europe

PS - Always pay that bit extra for Free Cancellation if not standard on the booking, you can't plan the future! As I have found on a few occasions!!
    blahblahblah1234's avatar
Defo go for the cancellable rate.
Cancel and rebook when the price drops or a bonus like this pops up.
  14. Happyvowels's avatar
    Thank you.
Had two rooms to book and booking.com were the cheapest. £20 bonus was most welcome, particularly as I booked one room and my husband booked the other!
    Happy days. 😁

With booking.com things track and then get declined 8 months later. TCB standard.

Worked fine on iPad using Safari without any issues with tracking (edited)

Didn't even track my £2 bonus last week. good luck (edited)
    blahblahblah1234's avatar
No luck needed if you do it right.
    My TCB always track ok.

Mine has tracked straight away, £20 as a bonus and the 4% ... Needed to sort an airport hotel so this is perfect nice one OP!

Still waiting on a £1500 refund from Booking.com and their non-existent customer service from 2020. Never again.

Pay with a credit card and the bank sorts it out for you.

I went through TCB to book a hotel last June, still waiting for the cashback a year later. Never tracked, raised a claim and they told me they couldn't find my order even though I gave them every piece of details they could possibly need. Still telling me they can't find the order. (edited)
    TopCashbackRep's avatar
    Hey

If we are declined for cashback as the transaction cannot be traced by the affiliate network for the retailer it can potentially be due to ourselves not being seen as the referrer to the purchase.

We can take a closer look into your account to see what more we can do to dispute if you could please drop us a DM with your username

Have gone through TCB for booking.com twice this year, both have tracked straight away. 4% cashback became payable within a few weeks of completing the 1st stay. 2nd stay is due to complete mid-August, but will hopefully have the same result, (although the 2nd stay is not in the UK).
Good deal ( & heat added accordingly) if you're planning on booking a trip today, but the actual window of opportunity isn't great if you can't complete the whole booking before midnight tonight. I think maybe having 7 days from today to book would be more reasonable.
  24. bob9's avatar
Never had any issue with cashback from booking.com via TCB.

I was just about to book a trip so an extra £20 is welcome!
    Dillz_'s avatar
How long did it take? I've had one pending and I've even stayed now and still not even confirmed.
    Just pending.

99% of my cashback through topcashback is booking.com. only ever had it fail once on probably £500 worth of cashback.

I have a confirmed hotel on Booking for 5-7th July (in Geneva) that its due to take the money tomorrow (1st July), I wonder if I used TCB link to get to Booking and clicked to PAY NOW (instead of tomorrow), it would count it? (edited)
    blahblahblah1234's avatar
    Not sure that would work.
If it's still the same price as when you booked, you could make a new booking, then cancel the original one before tomorrow.
  27. johnd88's avatar
Thank you @rad. I don't have any issues with TopCashback usually, it's Quidco that never tracks for me! Seems the opposite of what a lot of people here are saying! (edited)

I've paid for a hotel in February, stayed there and checked out and mines still pending.
I've rebooked another hotel for October, lets hope it actually goes through.
    scrounger's avatar
Submit a complaint via chat and they will eventually cough up..
  29. Sven2400's avatar
Having trouble with TCB tracking anything at the mo.
Also, booking.com put their prices up to take into account any cashback they have to pay. So I've just looked at booking a hotel for a week, it's more the £50 extra via TCB so, even with the £20 bonus, it's still cheaper to book without.
  30. Sephiroth's avatar
    Just used this. Thanks.
  31. George_G.'s avatar
    Not tracking, we'll see..
    agarg24's avatar

Can't find anywhere that can take the full payment now, most are "No payment required, pay at property!"

Or am I understanding this incorrectly?
  33. starshinesbright's avatar
    My booking hasn't tracked yet.
  34. lukebarnes's avatar
So no cash back or bonus cash back if you have a booking that takes payment the week of the stay? Rather than pay in full immediately with no cancellation possible?
  35. NeverBagHolding's avatar
Oh no I just booked a holiday accommodation 3 days ago

Typically my transaction didn't track so I've submitted a claim, is there any chance of getting the bonus as this didn't obviously track either
