sorted bySometimes I get cheaper "mobile only price" using Chrome browser on my phone, compared to Chrome on my PC.
Use Quidco all the time and tracks at least 95% of the time.
Open TCB, click through to booking.com find a cottage, pay, then days later get emails about payment failed update payment information. Do that multiple times. Then get another email.
"Unfortunately, we have a system error and we have not been able to take the payment for your booking. Our team are currently working to get this fixed.
Please do not update your payment details as we still won’t be able to process this.

So I ring the number and it's cottages.com wtf anyways lovely lady on the phone, I say what happened and she said this *always* happens with booking.com they don't actually take the payment?!
Now maybe hotels and things are different but from my own experience if I am going to book a cottage, I'm just going to use cottages.com 😁 too many middle men otherwise.
Will I ever get TCB if booking.com is none the wiser as to if I've paid or not (if I log in booking still says urgent action required). TCB still pending from 6 months back. Who knows tbh. Main thing was I got the confirmation emails from cottages.com in the end and our holiday was sorted. (edited)
Obviously it might go wrong like in your case, but I wouldn't say that's what usually happens...
last time I used them (and vowed never to again) I arrived at a property that had closed for business the month before. They took my money 9 days before the holiday (property had been closed down for nearly 3 weeks).
Tried again recently and upon speaking with the property owner they wanted an extra £50 ‘admin charge’. Disputed with booking.com who I paid a total that explicitly stated ‘includes all tax and charges’ on the page and confirmation… booking.com say the charge stands as in their terms it says ‘bookings may be subject to an admin fee’ … despite the amount not being listed .
Left me and my 7yr old stranded in Belgium having double booked our accommodation. If it wasn't for the fact we had a hire car we would of been royally f**ked.
Next nearest accommodation was of 30miles away and €900 more.
I will never ever ever book with them again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The only cashback rate we have with booking.com is Accommodation bookings and so as these are the only purchases that track, these will be the only purchases eligible for the cashback and the additional bonus offered for today

PS - Always pay that bit extra for Free Cancellation if not standard on the booking, you can't plan the future! As I have found on a few occasions!!
Cancel and rebook when the price drops or a bonus like this pops up.
Had two rooms to book and booking.com were the cheapest. £20 bonus was most welcome, particularly as I booked one room and my husband booked the other!
Happy days. 😁
My TCB always track ok.
If we are declined for cashback as the transaction cannot be traced by the affiliate network for the retailer it can potentially be due to ourselves not being seen as the referrer to the purchase.
We can take a closer look into your account to see what more we can do to dispute if you could please drop us a DM with your username

Good deal ( & heat added accordingly) if you're planning on booking a trip today, but the actual window of opportunity isn't great if you can't complete the whole booking before midnight tonight. I think maybe having 7 days from today to book would be more reasonable.
I was just about to book a trip so an extra £20 is welcome!
Just pending.
If it's still the same price as when you booked, you could make a new booking, then cancel the original one before tomorrow.
I've rebooked another hotel for October, lets hope it actually goes through.
Also, booking.com put their prices up to take into account any cashback they have to pay. So I've just looked at booking a hotel for a week, it's more the £50 extra via TCB so, even with the £20 bonus, it's still cheaper to book without.
Or am I understanding this incorrectly?
