Good deal if it's the normal giant jam ones

The largest donut ever made was an American-style jelly donut weighing 1.7 tons, which was 16 feet in diameter and 16 inches high in the center.

Voted hot but if you've got the app, Lidl bakery items are 30% off after 7pm. 4 of these doughnuts cost less than £1, if there's any left.

To be honest, after 7pm if there's any left, they're usually out of their plastic tray upended at the back with some kid's pawprints all over them. Ok if you're not fussy and like a doughnut in the evening. Miles better than the greasy and stodgy offerings of the other supermarkets when they are fresh, though.

Morrison’s doughnuts used to be the he best before they changed them up

Putting milk and egg in something that is commonly made without is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. Sainsbury's, Tesco, Coop and Morrison all do them without and they taste far better and are better value (5 for £1 usually).

    Don't buy

Does anyone know if these are the low calorie ones?
    Dragon32's avatar
    Yes definitely.

    Why is this hot?

5 for £1 in other supermarkets

Because these are much better than other supermarkets and bigger.

Morrisons doughnuts far far tastier, far cheaper, never ha;f frozen and haven't been fingered and sneezed on by all n sundry !

Morrisons stuff is far Inferior to Lidls. As to the conduct of your neighbours, that's to do with where you reside.

Are these as rank as the aldi ones? Fresh/previously frozen/under-cooked?
    Rob_Wyatt's avatar
These are not great, they rank very low on the doughnut scale for me. I think even Tesco outdo Lidl

Lidl have always been my downfall with their bakery.

I go in for a pint of milk and come out with a chocolate brownie and a chocolate doughnut (as well as the kayak and generator).

    Love their bakery items. (edited)

The most expensive jam doughnuts that are in the supermarkets and less taste. Most of them have 5 in. Definitely a frozen from me

These are super soft and not greasy/glazed.. generous jam filling too.

As an aside, if buying from other supermarkets, sainsburys 5pk of jam donuts are deffo the best otherwise. Yum.
  13. sto1's avatar
Oh, No! - so tempting as these are the best doughnuts in the world - not all greasy like ones from other supermarkets.

And they are also consistent in any branch of Lidl in any country

Morrisons were the best. Lidl are suspiciously German with mediocre baked products. Whoever heard of a German bakery? Italian yes. French yes of course. They should stick to what they do best. Machine guns and overpriced motor vehicles.
    TinXpH's avatar
You've clearly never been to a bakery in Germany.

These are THE best jam donuts of any supermarket BY FAR! And don’t even get me started on Lidl’s ‘Nutella’ donuts!! LETHAL!
    minxx's avatar
I like the Nutella doughnuts too 🍩

Not a fan of Lidl jam doughnuts, they always seem dry to me. Their jaffa doughnuts on the other hand are fantastic! I think tesco tried to copy them because they announce over the tannoy "try our jaffa doughnuts" but never stock any in my branch, so every time I hear the announcement I think "Why yes I would rather be at Lidl with their Jaffa doughnuts". Silly tesco.

I've had a few of the Lidl bakery items for free on the lidl plus app and that is all they are worth to be honest. It's all parbaked crap full of yeast like you get at convenience stores and petrol station shops, it goes off very quickly. It smells nice but low quality food. You would be better off with pre-packed products from Lidl which don't have the high levels of yeast. This is all about saving Lidl money and saving waste for them but still offering a fresh bakery of sorts. Many supermarkets offer real bakeries for a lot of their products like bread and these are far superior. I just don't get the love for low grade garbage food. There are some health issues with parbaked bakery products mainly if you are intolerant to high levels of yeast.

I'm assuming for this to have so much heat these are quite large doughnuts as overwise it doesn't seem that good a deal at all.

This amount of heat for a 20p saving! The sheep voting on this site never ceases to amaze me.

    95P in Morrisons
    bonzobanana's avatar
My favourite is the Morrisons ring doughnuts I'm not really into the jam they put into the middle of most doughnuts.
  23. MrQ's avatar
Great deal if you don't have other supermarkets nearby. They taste okay, but I prefer the co-op or asda ones.

    5 for £1.10 at ASDA
  25. Neostar's avatar
I bought these from Lidl on Friday, they are actually quite good but the jam is too sugary for me. I think next time I'll only buy the ring or maybe chocolate doughnuts and avoid the jam
