Before anyone thinks they can use the conversion "trick"
Conversion is now 3:2 rather than 1:1 EVEN on a lapsed sub or new account

I was sad reading this news this morning

If you don't care about Microsoft reward points, you can always make a new account, get the £1 offer and set it as your home xbox. You can then use any account for the month.

I only know how to do it via PC Edge but press ctrl + shift + Y and it will open up collections(thought it was groups, same thing really)

From there you create a new collection, click on it and you'll see an option to add current page. Just make 30 unique searches and add each page to the collection.

Once that's done when you come to use it again you press the same key shortcut and click the three little dots on the collection you made, click open all in new tabs. If that doesn't complete the task you can shift click all the tabs and spam F5 a few times til it registers

Once again threads merged to hide the comments on other threads...seems sadly to be the norm now along with other recent changes like deal pricing before postage.

Balls - my "free" year via BT ends in August and I was hoping to go back to the Gold>GamePass conversion.

Oh well, still cheaper than regular GPU right?

    Tremendously so

these companies all want all the money. If this was a decently low price like it used to be, I think more would buy direct. Didnt it used to be £2.99 a month back in the day? I'd pay that. Thats more than these tricks work out to as well.

When PC Gamepass was in beta it was £3.99 as an introductory price.

But let's break down what this severely underpriced subscription gives shall we?

PC gamepass: £7.99 per month for around 200ish games. Every 1st party game releases day one, occasional 3rd party day one releases and a revolving door of games that changes monthly

Xbox gamepass: £8.99 per month for again, around 200ish games with all the same day one shenanigans

Xbox live gold: £6.99 per month, gives two free games per month and unlimited online play for Xbox consoles

EA play: £3.99 ~90 games playable here, with 10 hour "demos" available for some new releases

Perks: can't really put a price on these as they vary a lot but let's put it like this instead, Three months of Spotify are at least £9.99, the obsidian cosmetics pack for SOT a few months ago was an £8 pack originally, 3 months of Discord nitro are about £8 per month... And so on

Cloud streaming: again, can't really put a price on it but it's pretty nifty

And you can get all of that for one extremely low price of £12.99 per month.
Or, if you utilise sketchy codes, £3.30 per month over 2 years.

This EASILY could be an £18-22 per month subscription for the value it offers.

Of course this value is based solely on whether or not you're utilising all of it, if you aren't then it probably isn't the subscription for you

Trigger happy admin... Why merge the deal posts when some expired Game Pass users are reporting getting the £1 deal and this deal *might* not only be for new users?

We were trying to figure out what the criteria was for getting this deal (as an existing user) in the other post you "merged" (actually just deleted).

Anyway... At 3 months since my last Ultimate Pass I wasn't eligible for the £1 but another user who said they were 5 months since their Ultimate expired was eligible.

I know the conversion has changed, but can someone remind me how to get the thing where you buy gold and it upgrades to gamepass please
    Glasshalfsmashed58's avatar
Buy codes from somewhere like CD Keys, redeem them and it will ask you if you want to convert it from Gold to Game Pass. That's it.
  8. Darren_Gladwell's avatar
Is this not a standard offer rather than a deal?
    Adddddd's avatar
They took it off a while ago. Its now come back with the increased sub price.

Just got a Series X and wanted to grab the Halo: Master Chief Collection before some mates come round this weekend. Perfect timing!
    EMHUKD's avatar
In case you're meaning you're going to buy it, Master Chief collection is on GPU.

    Hello, yes now it's 3:2
  12. hairyarse's avatar
I have done this too many times. And now even if I set up a new profile with new emails it doesn't work!
  13. bluefish2303's avatar
Where does it say new accounts only? If I let my GPU lapse and buy more Live Gold, can I use the £1 trial?
    Kai_Kinder's avatar
In theory yes you could use this to convert 3 years of live in to two years of ultimate
  14. aikon82's avatar
My 3 years of Ultimate ends.... tomorrow. Shame I missed the boat for getting another 3 years worth using the conversion trick, but getting 2 years worth of Ultimate for using 3 years worth of Games With Gold still is great value for money, even if I don't use it anywhere near as much as I should.
    username23452's avatar
but it still works as long as your ultimate is expired? buy and activate gold then activate a 1 month ultiamte and you get 1:1 upgrade.
  15. wez316's avatar
Just to help anybody who is already subscribed the 3:2 ratio for subscribed seems to have changed.

1 month of Gold - 20 days of Ultimate

3 months of Gold - 50 days of Ultimate (1+ month)

6 months of Gold - 79 days of Ultimate (2+ months)

12 months of Gold - 4 months of Ultimate

So what was a 3:2 ratio before using that method is now as low as 3:1 in most cases. I could be mistaken on the change, maybe it has always been this bad a conversion, but just warning anybody else not to bulk buy codes in advance while subscribed just in case they thought it was a 3:2 like I did.
  16. jamal98's avatar
So if I want to start GPU today, should I do the 30day trial for£1 or is there still a better option?
    hairyarse's avatar
That's by far the cheapest way. And after signing in with the new profile, you can then switch back to your old one and continue
  17. jamal98's avatar
Don’t have an account so thought I may get on bandwagon. Was originally gonna do the conversion but missed window
  18. username23452's avatar
I got a 6 month gold the other day for 13.99 and activated it today as 2, 3 month codes provided by cd keys. Both gave me the + 1 month for recurring billing when activated via the xbox app on pc. Used a 1 month GPU I had left over and I got until the 01/2024 so 6 months in total

I posted on the other thread, but it was deleted.

I was successful in purchasing the £1 deal this morning. My Xbox Games Pass for PC expired at the start of the month, but I've never had GPU before.

Yeah - I was the one that posted the new Xbox Game Pass Ultimate 1 Month £1 @ Microsoft deal - I did perform a manual search and couldn't find it posted (!?). Also worth noting that before it lets you post a deal the site checks for similar deal posts - it didn't find any.
