Just HUKD trying to make pricing more appealing, they add the postage as a minor detail now for some reason, think I'm more annoyed doing it like that.

I fitted my garage out with decent shelving a few years back, and bought one similar to this (might not be the exact same one) much later on as a bit of extra storage.
Flimsy rubbish. You absolutely must secure it to the wall with decent rawlplugs and stuff as the metal bends / twists under strain well below the weight limits given.
Wouldn't recommend simply as people will assume the weight limits and specs provided are safe, when in reality I'd personally suggest no more than 30kg a shelf.
Fine for light stuff. Oh, and just to reiterate, for god's sake attach them firmly to a wall.

Damn There was me expecting it to be a similar price to this one

Bought this yesterday it’s extremely flimsy and light weight I’ll be returning for a refund.

Putting in my two cents to HUKD - the minimising of delivery charges is causing frustration for users.

Deals are being mistakenly voted hot, as the price looks more appealing. And we're clicking through to catch a cheap deal, only to find a delivery charge which used to be more clearly stated or INCLUDED in the deal price.

Transparency is one of the reasons we use this place, and we're savvy deal hunters - we can smell cons, flim-flam, and other malarkey a mile off.

I wouldn’t have voted hot if I’d seen the delivery charges…

Then you need to read the info provided.

Scam, postage used to be included in the price. COLD.

I suspect I'm going to be hitting 'Cold' a lot more often from here on in...

I have bought & assembled these but they have one flaw. As no screws or bolts are used they can fall apart like a house of cards if you attempt to move them by picking them up by the shelves. As long as they remain in situ though they should be alright. However I think the heavy duty plastic shelves sold by Argos and the like are better, I switched to these for my garage after buying three of the galvanized metal ones. Much sturdier.

I have two very similar (if not identical) units from Lidl, and found the same - fiddly to assemble and prone to falling apart at the slightest provocation. I bought a pop-rivet gun for £6.50 and am very pleased with the outcome.

It’s disheartening to think of what passes for heavy duty these days.

Similar thing when products are labelled as “professional” such as “professional chef’s knife”. Absolute rubbish in a lot of cases.
  10. maddoglewis's avatar
voted cold due to hidden postage costs
    steve252's avatar
Likewise. Plus the "Heavy duty" claim is a lie.
  11. SamBeckett's avatar
£5.99 per item postage makes a bit of a mockery of the price
  12. Familyguy1982's avatar
Most of the comments on this 'deal' are moaning about delivery charges, but I was more annoyed about the number of different ways the word shelf is written in the title, like an eBay ad trying to get more hits!
(and yes, I appreciate the wording comes from the Amazon listing and not from the OP)

Stack up few cardboard boxes and they will be more rigid than this flimsy shelves. Buy a decent quality one.

    Which one is decent?

Good price and a little bit cheaper on Onbuy. I have the Coupert chrome extension and for Amazon it shows other places that sell the same thing cheaper sometimes. It says Onbuy have it for £21.95 including delivery, also 1% topcashback. Onbuy might have voucher codes too I have never used Onbuy but they look legit. It looks like its the same seller Denny shop too.

0.55mm, is that the thickness (thinness) of the steel? Tin foil springs to mind if so.

£9.99 delivery to me up by Aberdeen….

    greedy gits.

Seeing this on my end as £15.95 with £9.99 postage...

Just paid the £1 odd extra to get it in black from another Amazon seller to match the other 2 in the garage (which are joined via the ever secure cable ties ). (edited)
  19. RaLuci's avatar
£2 more and you get next day delivery for the TMZ one..

Plus Lidl I think they have it instore 1 @ £25 or 2 for £40 if I'm not mistaken :/ (edited)
    Robdataff's avatar
Lidl ones were a smaller size.

Majority of comments here are negative - both on quality and actual price of item, yet it's 500 degrees?????
    Parappathepappa's avatar
Many light hukd users simply scroll and vote without checking the details of the deal.

Is this wide enough for toothbrush heads?
    Parappathepappa's avatar
    No.
