This seems like a great deal. Any downside to it?

thats the beauty, its double sided.

Description says it’s enamel coating, so does that mean it will not need regular seasoning ?
Also does it mean food will not have added iron ?

Reason for asking : we use iron utensils because couple of people in my household have low iron so cooking with cast iron adds iron to food (edited)

Is this the same as a plancha or are there slight differences?
    laytli's avatar
I’d say yes consider them the same. I think, a plancha is typically carbon steel so the surface is a bit smoother as it comes from sheet metal. You only need to use cast iron a lot to get layers of oil baked on there and it’ll work excellently

Thanks op, ordered to use on bbq.

Would personally pay a bit extra for a pre seasoned one unless you are good at doing it evenly yourself. In my experience most people aren't, get an uneven layer and then wonder why it performs badly.

Is there an idiots guide on how to season this/other cast iron items that I can use to give it a go? I mean proper idiots guide though or I will do it wrong!

I realise this might be a silly question but, will the handles be hot to touch? I want to put this across a double hot plate I have for camping.
    RealOldMonk's avatar
    Yes, they will be

BEWARE!!!! I bought this and I was putting oil on it to season it but I ended up getting a metal splinter embedded in my finger!!

This is not good quality and very unsafe! The bits of metal on the rough surface could come off at any point. I'll be getting a refund.
