I bought one of these last Autumn and am fairly happy with it. Some points:

- It's cast aluminium with black coating, so much lighter than you'd think.
- The chimney cap is so light it can blow off in heavy wind - ours did and scratched off some of the black coating on the patio, revealing shiny aluminium underneath.
- The cooking grate isn't aluminum and rusts quickly. User guide says to ensure ash is removed after use as it can get damp and make it rust quicker. I actually remove the fire bowl completely when not in use and store it indoors.
- The funnel part of the chimney will go a real rusty brown colour quite quickly. The metal isn't rusting, just the coating.

On the Tesco site "Offers for delivery "

You mean offer valid for delivery? that's what every offer listed on all the online delivery supermarket has. Anytime I've seen a deal on these websites they've always had it in store unless it states online exclusive offer (Morrisons does this) I don't think the small expresses count.

Sometimes though if a deal has just been put up, staff can be late changing it in store forcing us to either ignore it or get a price check.

I'm going there either tomorrow or tonight so I'll check.
Lots of Blue Dragon stuff is also on offer at half price. Hoisin dipping sauce is often expensive but theirs is down to 79p a bottle and it tastes incredible

But i use a 1/1 full size gastronorm and find it annoying trying to peg all the bags to the side of the container and there is always dead space in the middle. Or if doing long cooks like whole pork shoulder, stews etc they tend to start floating after 6 hours or so. The vacuum method works better then. I do notice less moisture migration from meat when it was sous vide in vacuum as opposed to in the ziplock.Definitely not an essential piece of kit, but for me it gets used 50% of the time and does comes in handy. This one is really slim and i can stuff it into the cupboard easily. It also has a strong magnet strip in the base so you can stick it on the fridge etc

Cool, thanks. Good to know.
I'm only using a rice cooker with glass top. Like you say, the zip locks sometimes get moisture and sometimes the seal isn't perfect. I normally put the zip part above water and trap it with the glass lid.
If I'm cooking something which can float ill put a small plate inside to sink the meats.

Do you honestly find much difference with the foods? (tight on space and don't want additional gismos in the kitchen if it's only 10% difference max).

The advantage of this is that it comes with the burning chamber and it's less messy than an open fire.

I'm tempted to get it only for the chimney flue to use it on a separate project. That alone is about £20-30.

I always go to FakeSpot now before I buy something on Amazon. Here’s the link to it, to check something out just paste the web address of the Amazon product into the appropriate place & the site will analyse it. I’ve grown suspicious of Amazon listings which have 100s or 1000s of reviews for something unexpected. fakespot.com

Seeing that this sort of thing is so adaptable - I'd look for a stove based on other requirements.
For occasional use, these are good but the gas is expensive...
decathlon.co.uk/por…BwE

Or, if you want a bit cheaper gas (very cheap if you can find somewhere that will refill it for you rather than replace - but be VERY careful it's done right if so) - a burner that sits on a Campingaz 907 or similar cylinder - burner cost me £15 and I got a full cylinder second hand from someone that'd got it with something else and already had one for £30 - full cylinder lasts ages even with the decently hot 3kw burner - hotter than a lot of home stoves.

It toasts sandwiches and paninis equally well, although I have tried few variations of the fillings.

Depends what type of stove you want. The type I use for fishing are this type Fox stove but any type like that are great as they fold down to around the size of a wallet. Then a gas can (can't remember the type it takes but they are around (£5 each) and they last a good few uses. It all depends how much you want to spend. Folding stoves start from around £15 and go up to £100+. I've been using the fox one for a couple of years for kettle and cooking and it's never let me down.
Can anyone recommend a stove to go with this at all?
