Ryw99

I bought one before, each time pizza got stuck to the stone and never used again. Also take up a lot of room. Not worth the money.

Pualle

I invested £3 in a 30 X 30 quarry tile the other week. I had been put off with the price of pizza stones, and I thought £3 was worth a shot. Made my first couple of pizzas and they both came out really well. They had a lovely crispy bottom that you don't get with a pizza tray. I just need a budget peel next. Is there a quarry tile of pizza peels?

dark_knight30

I have this pizza stone myself, it's very good. You need to crack the oven up as high and it can go. Let the stone full heat for about 30mins before adding anything on top.

soulman123

As they can be expensive, I found untreated quarry tile a very close second and 4 15x15cm tiles cost 63p each from my local tile shop. (y)

joedastudd

It's only rated as oven safe to 220C surely you wanting it to get as hot as possible? If I'm doing homemade pizzas in the oven I set to as high as it will go past the 250C marker.

I bought this last month. It is quite noisy. But, cooks things fast. I had chicken strips cooked within 8 mins...which was about 10 mins faster than my gas oven. Cleaning is a doddle. I put aluminium foil at the bottom of my one...so it can collect any oil and fat and just chuck that after. I have cooked Pizza from frozen and cheese and onion pasties as welll as chip which came out crisp. it has cooked well for me.

MrChaunceyGardiner

Apart from being slighly fiddly to clean, I really like it. I use it almost daily for burgers, chicken, bacon, asparagus etc.

'A wife that burns everything'? (poo)

Gadgetdeals

Who the hell puts a pan OR kitchen knives in a dishwasher? Clean the air fryer pan by hand it takes seconds as do good quality pans, unless you have a wife that burns everything (lol)

Lucyeff

I can imagine it's the dishwasher that causes all the damage (fierce) Would you recommend the Cosori one? We'd need a large capacity one and so probably a different model but I'm worried about choosing the wrong one. I'm sure we'd get a lot of use from the right one though. Thanks for your reply by the way! :)

No all. Pros use steainless, or mineral steel. Then put your in decarbonoser to clean. You might keep one or two non-stick pans around for certain things, but on a whole, it's stainless, as 1, you can thoughrly scrub them. 2, pure stainless will last 10times longer.

marty-401

I got fed up of these coated cooking items years ago. I much prefer good old stainless... No rust/easy to clean/last forever https://www.nisbets.co.uk/search?q=Vogue+stainless&page=1&per-page=60&sort=max-price-asc&view=grid Do ANY top restaurants use coated cookware?

Would not shell out for this, It will end up taking valuable space in a cupboard, a regular shape pan is far more versatile. Personally I don't care if my whites are not perfectly round.

When making a curry for instance, it tells you when to add oil and onions, then there’s a timer for how long onions take to fry, when to add peppers, spices etc. The. When that timer is finished it will say “Now add the chicken and close lid”. Then it pressure cooks. There are quite a few recipes in the app and it is really simple to use. It is very flexible. You can use it just as a pressure cooker or it can tell you how to cook different dishes with recipes already installed or through the app.

shareef

What kind of stuff isit telling you to add out of interest?

Pweda

These are great. I have one of these and unlike normal pressure cookers, it tells you what to add, how much to add, and at what time during the cooking process to make the recipe for you. Have made a few fantastic curries.

A good vortex in some just off boiling water is all you need to poach an egg, you've got to get the egg into the water very quickly as the protein denatures rapidly.

dewonderful

Electric egg boilers can also be used for poaching. Once you figure out how much water to put in to get them how you like, you can have them exactly as you like every time from then on. You can usually get them for about a tenner, so cheaper than this pan.

madel79

These stuff just don't work.

justchris92

Might have to poach one of these for myself.

Arold

No need for vinegar or stirring. The water should be just off the boil so that it doesn't move. Break an egg into a cup, lower the cup into the water and gently tip the egg out. Use fresh eggs. To test, put the egg in a bowl of cold water. The more it tips up on end, the older it is (gas in the egg increases in volume as the egg ages, making it more buoyant).

I've used mine today, its brilliant! It makes fries nicely at 160° for 6 mins.

slimjimjim80

From what I understand there are few variables involved in how un/healthy deep fried food is. Things like type and quality of oil which directly affects the price. Age and cleanliness of the oil, again cost. Temperature of the oil + other factors I've no clue about. I guess like most things, no big deal if it's balanced and in moderation but if diet consists mainly of fried stuff then probably not good for you.

BeerGoggles

Actually I have heard many times that deep trying is not unhealthy as the hot oil encases the item quickly with a thin layer and is not actually absorbed. Saying that I don't own one myself due to space so strains but I do miss home cooked chips, oven chips just don't compare 😁

slimjimjim80

Granted this is quicker & easier but obviously it's not exactly healthy. Just to point out there are also number of ways to do breaded chicken, fish, and chips with a combo of pan and oven. If you're a fryer fan, that's fair enough and I'm not preaching. This is simply to say there are other options and methods for anyone new to cooking.

BeerGoggles

Make your own fish and chips, breaded chicken, fried squid? If you like fried food but don't like cooking or not interested in saving money then this is isn't for you.
