I stopped using our old machine as the old waffle mix that we loved went out of stock and second bag different make just stuck and fell apart. Became very frustrating. Anyone recommend a mix to get?

Make your own, costs pennies and takes just a few mins;-

    Ingredients
    Method
    • Heat a waffle maker following the manufacturer's instructions, brush with a little of the oil, then ladle in enough batter to just cover the surface. Cook following the manufacturer's instructions (usually 5-6 mins) until the waffles are golden brown and crisp. Serve immediately or keep warm in a low oven while you make the rest. Drizzle with maple syrup or sprinkle with icing sugar, if you like.
    • Crack the egg (for fluffier waffles, use only the yolk at this stage) into a large bowl, then tip in the flour and a generous pinch of salt. Add the sugar, if using, then gradually whisk in the milk followed by the melted butter until smooth. Whisk in the vanilla, if using. If you've chosen to make fluffier waffles, whisk the egg white to soft peaks, then gently fold this into the batter. Alternatively, make the batter by blitzing all the ingredients together using a blender or hand blender.

Thanks Kasia - what's the benefit of 1200W? Is it the speed of making?

I think looking at the reviews there are issues with reliability and the non stick peeling off. Explains the price drop

Had this and the plates came apart from the housing when trying to open it. If you are serious about waffles get a rotating one, it's the only way to make proper waffles.

This is poor quality, so expect it to fall apart within 1 year.. Really poorly designed and materials are not able to take the combination of heat and repeated use.

This one is on offer at £13 now, I bought it a while ago now and it has been superb. Brush a little oil on all plates before each use.
