    Go for the garmin. The gps on garmin works well and the connect  app is great. Honor health app isn’t quite as good and strava functionality on the honor isn’t as good. The screen is better in the honor though

    Yes both, can answer calls on it if it's connected to your phone via bluetooth, can also listen to music through the speaker if you wish but not something i do haha, holds quite a lot of music as well.

    I know nothing about smart watches, but my wife wants one. Would this be compatible with a samsung phone?
    Can you check things like whats app messages on this as well as things like steps and heart rate?

    It will work with any phone but you'll need the Huawei Health app for this to work. The app is not on a play store so bit of a faff to get it installed. The Honor Health app that is on play store did not recognise the watch strangely.

    It will show the messages but you won't be able to reply via the watch. It also has all sorts of fitness features including a pedometer and heart rate monitor. (edited)

    My only problem I have with smart watches is they only seem to display the time in hours and minutes I like to be able to see the seconds as well it might be something that can be changed I don't know I know bupkes about smart watches ps can this be used as a stand alone device or do you need to connect it to a phone (edited)

    Plenty of watch faces that show seconds, just change it to the one you like.

    Telling the time is good but the best feature on my Huwaei GT smartwatch is the 'find-my-phone' function. Never buy a smartwatch without it ;-)
