Only negative I see is hdr400 which is useless.
    Gimme-A-Deal's avatar
HDR on any monitor below £500 is poor anyway. If you want decent HDR then you are looking at monitors at least £800

Am I being stupid, can't see the specs mention hdmi 2.1?
  4. Brotherhoodof_Biking's avatar
Would this work well for plugging a Series S in? Thinking wife can have the TV back and I'll pop this next to the comfy chair on a stand! I'm aware they'll be no sound but headphones would work wouldn't they?
    iainl7's avatar
Xbox can communicate to a Bluetooth speaker, Bluetooth headphones, or you can just plug wired headphones into the controller.

Why are monitors still this expensive? There was exactly the same lenovo deal two years ago already
    sasuke0's avatar
Monitors hold value but also I think the recent GPUs supporting QHD at mid range probably increased demand
  6. inertia's avatar
Please monitor companies… stop putting the buttons on the back of the monitor.
so damn annoying when switching inputs… grrrrr
    oceanic's avatar
    it should switch automatically usually.

might need to turn on settings in your laptop, pc, monitor

Absolutely insane deal for HDMI 2.1!

I assume this means it would give you variable refresh rate when connected to a PS5? (edited)
    pubgrundy's avatar
That's the first thing I thought when I saw it too. Might finally be a decent VRR monitor for PS5 that doesn't require remortgaging the house!
  8. evilzippy's avatar
What's so special about hdmi 2.1? Isn't the display port better?
    H3lloworld's avatar
HDMI 2.1 can support higher frame rates for smoother video, but it also allows variable frame rates. Modern PC and console games do not use one single frame rate throughout the game

I've got the LG and am hesitant to send back as it is great. But it makes sense although there's few detailed reviews about this Dell
    jakedude182's avatar
It briefly crossed my mind. After looking into it I'm not happy with the risk of it being damaged or not having it for a while now. It's greed to get more money I guess when it comes down to it. Feeling of jumping the gun and losing money.

But ultimately I'm very happy with the LG I'm not unhappy at all. Just a bit unlucky perhaps, still I know intend to obsess about stuff so I'm going to stop looking at monitors now altogether

Mine arrived, box looked battered. Opened it up and sure enough, one of the corners is damaged. Bubbled up the screen surface to make it look like there was a plastic protector in place. Didn’t even bother powering it up. Being returned on Thursday

Concerns were further raised when I found another delivery sticker on the box for another customer! (edited)

How this compare with MSI G27CQ4 E2 £198 @ Amazon?

This or the LG UltraGear 27GR75Q?
    Robertooo's avatar
Budget dependent this question... But LG if you wanna spend the extra 40 quid
  13. geokarbou's avatar
crazy deal, I have the Dell S2721DGFA which is very similar and it's an amazing monitor. Highly recommended
  14. cheese73's avatar
Looking for something to use with an Xbox Series X for my son, anyone recommend this or the LG UltraGear 27GR75Q?

    Any opinions welcome
    wunwun123's avatar
I have a ps5 and series X so gonna use one of them for this I think, apparently it works well with this monitor, some can have issues if 165hz, at least with this one you ll know it works well, also it seems this one is brighter Brightness400 cd/m² Vs 300 on the LG you are interested in, so that would make a big difference I think
  15. john_n3MU's avatar
any one actually OWN this monitor or commenting blindly......i don't neither have I ordered it. That is the truth. HOT deal. There fallen into the queue.
    Njay's avatar
Someone on the other deal posts out up a picture of it comnected to xbox

Worked fine once console mode was enabled in the monitor menu.

What intrigued me though is photo shows capable of accepted an 4k 10bit input so that makes me think it will work fine with ps5 too as I am under the impression ps5 doesn't natively support 1440p or has that changed now? (edited)

I dont know if I should bite the bullet and buy 2.

2 * 27” is a lot of screen. I ended up ditching this set up when I had it!
  17. MisterMadHatter's avatar
Thanks, OP! I caved and bought as it looks like it ticks all the boxes. I might wait until the RTings review before unboxing it though, which is due end of this week.

Does anyone think that the laptop market will crash in like a years time. I feel like when we start seeing more main stream 4k 120hz TVs and monitors that are at an affordable price at the very least we will see significant price reductions on QHD monitors
    RJA964's avatar
Doesn't mean the laptop market will crash, the GPU CPU are the most expensive parts already

    Great price for this monitor.
Tempted to get one as my new 2nd screen even though I wouldn't be using it for gaming, lol. (edited)
  33. TheShinyOrange's avatar
Just ordered incredible deal for both Console and PC gamers, 165hz on PC and 144hz on Console with VRR thanks to HDM1 2.1 unbelievably good, thanks OP.
    irabbs7's avatar
    It's 120hz for console
  34. plsnoimmoist's avatar
No Aux, no 3.5mm jack, not even a usb port. Good price if all you ever use is a headset/headphones. If you use speakers, good luck.
    Planter1's avatar
Being a gaming monitor, primarily I think most people would be using headphones and running them via their PC/console anyway. But fair point.
  35. misa426's avatar
I would also really appreciate a code.
  36. doyle871's avatar
Great deal just be aware if you have any issues their customer service is awful. Bought this deal came broken and they refused to either refund or replace until I threatened legal action.
    MisterMadHatter's avatar
That's slightly worrying. I guess it's a small company, so perhaps they're not aware of the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
  37. James_Turkish's avatar
Got this today, very impressive! Works flawlessly with ps5 and xbox
    Thanks to original poster
    chatlow's avatar
1440 with 120 out the box or did you need to tweak various settings for this to work with PS5? Also how are the black levels? Thanks
  38. Gama_Radiation's avatar
Anyone have a spare code they could DM?

Is this better than the popular DELL S2721DGFA model that used to come on here a little while back?

    EDIT

just googled it, this is a very good monitor but the s27 better overall however most average users wouldn't notice the difference. (edited)
