The #1 best-selling workbench on Amazon is now at its cheapest price since 2015! The only hitch is that you to wait for it - I just placed an order and estimated delivery is 1 December. But at £30 it's worth the wait.

Official blurb:

BLACK+DECKER WM536 Workmate Dual Height WorkbenchThe BLACK+DECKER WM536 Workmate Deluxe Workbench has been designed with keen DIYers and their limitless projects in mind. The Workmate allows you to fix the piece you are working on, to the workbench, so that you can work on it with both hands without the risk of it moving during the application.

Thanks to the ideal solution of dual height, the tool can be used as a workbench, bench tool stand, vice or sawhorse, giving you the ability to work on a number of various projects. Dual clamping cranks and adjustable swivel pegs increase clamping force and offer versatility.

It has been designed for easy set up and clean up. Its heavyweight construction allows support of up to 250 kg. Front jaw swings up for vertical clamping, increasing flexibility to clamp odd-shaped objects. The frame legs have rubber feet ensuring the workbench is secure and does not slip during the use.

The frame of this workbench easily folds for compact storage and easy transport.

Are these strong enough to cut logs on .( Used a silverline one before and such a rubbish light weight design)

I've used mine to cut full 3m kitchen worktops weighing around 30kg. Can definitely take plenty weight.

I bought one of the Farmfoods workbenches (Stanley) to replace a B&D one I bought 30 years ago for £25. I initially though they were the same models as I already had but when I assembled the workbench I saw that the top is larger and has an extra section which can be removed by sliding it out.

Another customer had asked about the difference between them so one of the staff opened one of each and as far as I could see there was no difference in the B&D or Stanley models that were for sale in Farmfoods for £40. (edited)

    whats the little step for?

Is it to put one foot on while cutting something? or is it not a step and just part of the frame
    ultimation's avatar
Often you'll want to put your weight onto the workbench while doing hard work, to keep it firmly on the floor.

Please, is this the basic model or for a little more I could get something better? What I should go for? Thanks

You'll pay more than twice the price for something that's substantially better.

There's nothing heavy or duty about the steel frame, it's pathetic. Wish I hadn't bought it.

    Rubbish isn't it.

I bought one of these at £50 recently!

The instructions are worse than useful. It would have been better to have none. Check out a youtube video or similar.

It's quite cheapy built, but for this price that's hard to argue with. The main issue is the springs that are for moving the work face vertical. I've had to reattach mine many times.

Is that the ‘plus’ model? I don’t think this one has the option to turn vertical. They are more expensive.

Heat! These are great and keep going well after the rubber feet have perished. I often use two at a time, when working on long pieces.

My original B&D bought 40 years ago is at the end of its life now. Certainly had my moneys worth.

Bought 2 for £40 on a B&Q deal April 2022. Gave one as a present and the one I kept is well used. Sturdy, well made. Cant go wrong with this workmate.

Assuming this isn't the bamboo model?

    Can't go wrong for £30.

    Cracking price. Heat.

Jesus, this takes me back! Remember the old fella having one back in the early 80's for sawing firewood. I'd love to be wrong but I suspect this won't be as well made...
    tinman41's avatar
    Its crap.

Does anyone happen to know where to get a new pair of reasonably priced jaws from if, say you accidentally cut into one with a jigsaw?

    Asking for a friend.
