Confused about budget TV

Sorry completely confused by TVs and hoping for some help! Looking at a cheap TV for a back room it gets a fair bit of sun so main thing is for it to be okay in fairly bright conditions. Main focus is on picture as smart features not used.

I have seen a few 4k TCL/hisense 43 inch TVs around £200-220 mark are these any good?

Then have seen qled TVs for £270-280 from hisense and TCL is the picture that much better and worth the extra for this?

Finally have seen this Samsung UE43CU7100KX for £263 always had Samsung TVs but will this be a poorer picture than the qled as entry level and similar to the cheaper TCL/hisense?

QLED is just branding for the different ranges, not a significant technology difference. It'll come down to the individual models about how bright they are and finding independent measurements can be tricky for budget TVs.

I disagree, It's much more than just branding and marketing. QLED is a significant enhancement technology in all LCD displays in general. (edited)

My hisense QLED is very good for the money

QLED tends to be a bit brighter and more colorful than your standard LCD tv with LED backlight.

Both Hisense and TCL tend to be decent but it is a bit of a panel lottery with these brands, moreso Hisense. Their quality control isn’t as good and for every few TVs to come off the line with a fantastic picture, you’ll get one that looks below average. Note too that some of the cheaper Hisense TVs use cheap panels that have very narrow viewing angles.

I would personally probably go for the Bush 43” QLED TV for £249 at Argos. I’ve got the 50” one and recommended the 65” to my friend and we are both very happy with them including mine which is in a bright conservatory (Replacing a 43” TCL QLED C73 TV which was also bright enough but poorer picture quality and motion handling, with very slow and laggy Android TV software)
